the whole Magnus Archives was built on bizarre and horrifying deaths and re-births. people perform mind-boggling rituals, undergo the most horrific things you've ever heard, even feed off the very existence of fear..... this is a show with eyeball gouging, the Unknowing, the literal apocalypse..... and somehow no character has made me more uncomfortable than Notebooks Graham

they never say why the two broke up, but because of the timing of events, there's a decent chance oliver left because graham bought the Evil Table. or that oliver left because graham started eating his notebooks.
do you think oliver would realise that graham was replaced by the NotThem? usually the NotThem only have one person who remembers them (and in this case it's amy patel) but would oliver notice something weird with the corpse roots? or not?
somehow i'm more afraid of graham (mostly NotGraham because he's fucking creepy) than the literal grim reaper
We shouldn't have gotten over Graham Folger and Amy Patel so quickly guys like creepy ass neighbour who's gay so slightly less creepy and you start watching him and suddenly he gets replaced by someone who has his name but isn't him and you just gotta fucking live with that??? oh also he ate a bunch of his notebooks. what.
Just thinking about how important it is that Across The Street is immediately after Do Not Open. Joshua Gillespie is someone who managed to live alongside fear, adapting his life to stay alive despite the threat in his own living room. Graham Folger attempts to do the same thing, to live in fear but ward away the true danger, but he fails.
It tells you clearly that although it might be *possible* to escape unscathed, it is incredibly difficult, and even the best plans can fail. The Fears are not something to be messed around with, because you never know whether your attempts to keep yourself safe will actually continue to hold up.
I love my favourite Magnus Archives characters!
