Hello everyone. I have something to admit—something I don’t want to admit. But I can’t hide it anymore. It’s time I come clean:
I have succumbed to the illness…
This illness in question is spread digitally. Once you consume content from it, you are forever contaminated. You might nit recognize it however, as the damage it caused piqued in the 2010’s. With time it slowly faded from publicity.
But it never died.
I was fortunate enough to be affected by this plague when it was most popular. But 4 years ago, I discovered that I wasn’t immune…
My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I do recall the year being 2021 or 2022. I was innocently scrolling through Pinterest. And then—I can’t remember how—I was suddenly attacked by this plague. It’s demented form was on my screen.
I had been contaminated with the illness.
At first, I didn’t think much of it, there was even a point where it didn’t affect me at all. But soon I would notice that my sickness was slowly consuming my mind. I interacted with this sickly content more and more. It was practically a daily occurrence. My stories, my creations, would all be infected by the plagues influence. The way I viewed the world, viewed history, would be permanently warped by the pestilence ingrained in my mind.
From what I’ve seen of others with the illness, the plague has no cure, and is inescapable once you come into contact with it. With this in mind, I heavy heartedly confess that I cannot hide it any longer…
