I Was Too Motivated For Too Long - Tumblr Posts
The nickname "Tank" didn't come from their disregard for safety and willingness to throw themself into all manner of reckless endeavors. "Tank" first came to be when they were fourteen and all their tops were exclusively tank tops, which caused other kids in the pack to refer to them as "Tanks" which, everyone can admit to that nowadays, wasn't exactly a creative nickname. The reason they had so many tank tops in the first place was that they'd always cut off the sleeves and hoods of any t-shirt, hoodie, or other sleeved tops they got. Why? To run away from fights more effectively, of course! Do you know how often their parents/their "friends"/packmates/teachers/etc. would just barely get a hold of their sleeves or hood when they tried to run away from a bad or even violent situation? Their parents got mad beyond belief at them for this, but hey, at least now they didn't catch them when they ran away as often!
The newer version of their nickname "Tank" or "Tanker" began to stick with the pack more and more when they were about sixteen or seventeen years old. When "Tank" didn't need to run away anymore and when their fist was faster than their feet. Now it wasn't "Tank the scaredy cat who runs away all the time." It was "Tank, you broke his nose!" It was "Tank, are you fucking crazy?!" It was "Why are your ribs broken? What the hell did you do now- Do you know how difficult it is for me to heal that?!" But that was fine. Because now, people knew what they were getting into when picking on them. They knew that "Tank" was a name they had earned.
