LMAO so glad you asked, but it is kind of an nsfw one so i'll put it under the cut! (also this turned into a mini ted talk WHOOPS)
it's really not THAT deep at all, but i feel like a very common hc/trope in dio fics and scenarios is him being really into master/sub and/or pet dynamics and having this prized pet he loves and adores, and i actually think he wouldn't really be into that very much at all based on his actual character?
like i 100% see where the idea comes from, and i see why ppl think this and this is no hate to those who write/enjoy it! if anything though i think that dio would initially like the idea of having human pets and playthings, but it's something he'd quickly tire of in the long run and end up "disposing" of them quite often. even just the little insight we get into his thoughts on pets/dogs with his reason for hating them being their "bootlicking", etc. is something worth noting i think? or even say his relationships with someone like vanilla ice vs. pucci (not a ship perspective, just general treatment): both are being used for greater goals, BUT pucci is arguably the closest to an equal to dio and is thus treated as such as his friend (at least as much as dio is capable of) as opposed to vanilla ice who essentially acts as a loyal guard dog to dio who follows his every order without question- he's HIGHLY useful as a pawn, but i think thats the extent of that relationship; he doesn't respect him as a person, just his power and how it can serve him.
BACK TO THE SPICY TALK THO LOL i guess what im trying to get at is that i actually see him having more success with a lover more "his equal" who challenges him and has some fire in them rather than a pet who grovels and worships him and his every word/action (But also he'd be VERY stubborn in admitting that). Ultimately though, this is all in a silly little daydream world where dio is even CAPABLE of or cares abt love in the first place

I will never have enough of Demon x Angel where the demon slowly corrupts the angel but imagine an angel who has millions of years worth of sexual fantasies they've been repressing and their desires only get more perverse and depraved as time goes on. So it starts out they only imagine having vanilla missionary with a hypothetical spouse, and by the time they fall, they're wishing they were tied up in a public bathroom being used and abused by every human and monster under the sun and much much worse.
They meet a demon and immediately launch into their raunchiest desires they'd finally get some fulfillment and the demon is like "I'm not even a succubus, I work mostly on the office side of hell-" and they're the one who gets corrupted by a freaky sex pest angel.
