opinions on imitation first episode?

im not rlly sure abt ateez being actors 😭 idk i know they’re rookies so obviously they’re not going to be the best. but im excited for jongho’s character cause he seems really cute. im also really excited for park yuri’s character, dojin

im not rlly sure how i feel abt imitation either 😭 idk about the storyline because i only watched a few clips but like even the main characters arent that good at acting imo. ive only seen a few clips though so i cant rlly say much. but yeah, dojin aka park yuri is HOT. he can wreck me anytime

yeah i understand your opinion!! i havent watched it all the way either so i dont know a lot abt the storyline. but regardless im excited to see ateez and park yuri hehe

tbh i disagree with the previous anon who said imitation was weak cause after watching the entire episode i could see the acting was very very good and the show tickles some rly sensitive topics like mistreatment of idols etc. judging by the first ep i have a feeling this drama will go far cause its interesting and well produced

yeah i cant rlly disagree or agree since i havent watched the full thing yet but maybe ill watch it in the future. jongho’s character is so cute tho oml he seems pretty good at acting

as someone who just finished the first ep of imitation, its cute!! jongho is really good, and the two main leads are also great! imo we havent had a lot of the rest of atz, but yunho shows promise! it is a lot heavier than i expected though, but i’m still vibing with it :)

I feel like I need to rewatch Imitation. When I first watched it, it was pre-atiny era for me still. I saw them on screen and said “omg it’s the cute ateez guys from kingdom” as opposed to “omg it’s those devious men that I’m madly in love with that have suddenly taken over my life”

I’ve found two fics on AO3 now that were clearly inspired by mine. One has the same plot as Dealings With A Kinder Devil, and the other has the same title as A Flame In Your Heart, and an almost identical plot. If imitation be the highest form of flattery, then consider me flattered…

Quand on me fait remarquer que certain·e·s créateur·rices imitent mon style graphique (ou celui d’un·e autre, qu’importe), ça me fait doucement sourire. Est-ce que je dois m’en offusquer ? Crier au scandale ? Intenter un procès ? La réponse est (bien évidement) non ! =) Bien au contraire même. Voir des personnes imiter ou s’inspirer de mon travail (et non pas le copier) est vraiment très gratifiant. Et puis, soyons honnêtes deux minutes. Qui ne s’inspire pas du travail des autres ? Qui n’a pas de modèles ? De références artistiques et/ou culturelles ? L’art – sous toutes ses formes – se réinvente chaque jour d’après l’existant. C’est un fait. Ne l’oublions pas. 

Personnellement, je me suis inspirée du travail de beaucoup de créateur·rices (qu’iels soient amateurs ou pros) avant de trouver ma propre patte. Et je n’en ai absolument pas honte ! =) Après tout, c’est comme ça qu’on apprend et qu’on évolue, non ? Alors s’il vous plait, soyez indulgent·e·s. et faites preuve de bienveillance envers les un·e·s et les autres. ♥

What if we were a little more forgiving ? { When I am told that some designers imitate my graphic style (or that of another, whatever), it makes me smile. Should I be offended by this ? Shout scandal ? Sue ? The answer is (of course) no ! =) Quite the contrary. Seeing people imitate or inspire my work (not copy it) is really very rewarding. And then, let’s be honest for two minutes. Who is not inspired by the work of others ? Who has no role models ? Artistic and/or cultural references ? Art – in all its forms – reinvents itself every day according to the existing. That is a fact. Let us not forget it. Personally, I was inspired by the work of many creators (amateur or pro) before finding my own paw. And I’m absolutely not ashamed of it ! =) After all, that’s how we learn and evolve, right? So please be lenient and show kindness to each other. «The art world is and should remain a big family, and art is shared ! »
