Yes, Sir, the subject definitely does love the gym now. It’s quite the transformation from when he first started. We’ve also been able to mute the anxiety and focus on raising his confidence levels. As a result, he has chosen to wear more revealing clothing that is designed to complement his growing physique. The triggers are most definitely a success with this tester. There is some concern about a disconnect from his previous personality, however.

I ... suppose a certain amount of safeties would be necessary to research, assuming the subject does go that far. But do you really want to risk irreparably constructing those pathways? He is officially declared a meta.

But I'm not sure if he could control his hearing, because you can't control normal hearing and his just got a huge boost. So maybe he could figure out a way to change his implants so that theylet more or less sound through. Like a filter. But I don’t think he can turn it on and off, because hearing doesn’t work that way.

So he’s kinda screwd without his implants.

Is Hartley Rathaway a Meta?

I was thinking about this before I went to sleep last night and didn’t remember until just now, but does Hartley count as a metahuman? I mean he was in the building along with Cisco, Caitlin, Stein, and Ronnie, and they’re all meta huma or becoming metahuman. 

In the pilot script, they mention he’s deaf and his cochlear implants was to help him hear. But, in the series his choclear implants are to lessen the effect of the screeching to be about normal. So does that man Hartley’s powers are super hearing? Would he be able to stop the screeching in his ears if he learned to control his power like all the other metas have. It makes sense that he hasn’t trained himself since he probably implanted the soon after the accident since it does affect his life greatly. But if he reduced the usage of it little by little would he go back to “normal” as in he could utilize it as super hearing and hear things from greater distances or whispered words in the next room or would he be completely deaf? 

The neodymium magnet implants in my hand have gotten old and grown weak. I can barely touch any EM fields anymore, and certainly not at the range I used to be able to. But one of the things I can still reliably feel is my laptop's power supply.

The result is that some nights I will sit with my laptop comfortably on my lap, stroking it gently to feel the vibrations as the EM field excites the implants in my fingertips. Feeling the warmth and the soft, soothing vibration as I slide my hand across its smooth metal surface like it was a purring kitten.

This isn't a computergirl post, but it may as well be.
