Hello everyone! It's Rain, here again with another devlog for Project: Maselosia, my project for Phantasia Game Jam 2024.
A few words to open the devlog?
Asks are open, whether it's for me or game characters! Would you like to see character profiles?
Expect development to be slow yet steady until September. More info in "final thoughts".
Let's start with this week's in-progress screenshot!

Game Art
Everything has been drawn for puzzle number two, except the flashback scenes and tiny imagery for the characters' inventory.
Writing
All good up to puzzle two. I have comments, descriptions, and dialogues left until I reach the first "real cutscene".
Audio
Nothing changed on that front. I'm also debating if Project: Maselosia needs voice acting?
Puzzles
Puzzle two is going well so far. However I'm having issues with the textbox, which I need to fix quickly. Nothing major or game-breaking, but it would be a great improvement to the game.
UI & Menus
Still no design in mind, but I'll get some menus done with the inventory. The main menu is not my priority right now, as I think I'll get it done when chapter 1 is being beta-tested.
Final thoughts
I will not be home in two weeks as I'll be on vacation, and I have an internship report to write before that. I will absolutely keep working on Project: Maselosia, but at a slower pace.
That is all I had to share this week! Thank you all for reading and be ready for next week's update ✨
Project: Maselosia is a is a fantasy puzzle game where two shapeshifters try to escape a cult and go back to their normal lives. According to the Phantasia Game Jam rules, chapter one will be released before October 31st and will be available for download on itch.io!

Keymailer is up and running!
Alex and I have been very busy, but we're posting here once again! I'm here to announce that our Keymailer account is up and running, so if you're a content creater on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, or Mixer, please feel free to request a key from us!
Week #5: Buttons and barriers are done! With them finished, I just have to make variants of them, and probably levers too. The next thing I’ll work on is a treat to lure the slimes.
Hi everyone! I have been working on a new project for a while and think its time to actually start doing some devlogs for it. I'll try to post updates anytime I add something new. For now, here is small look at it.

Devlog #1: I've done some more work on the project and I have created a colorful cast of crows that each have a unique ability. Some may need better sprites, but graphics aren't my priority right now
devlog #2: here is a short showcase of each of the six weapons developed so far. I plan on adding unique upgrades to each of them at some point to make them more powerful as your run progresses
devlog #3: I've done a bunch of work on UI elements, adding health, a weapon display, a timer, and an indicator to show how many crops you're holding. Next thing I'll probably show is the shops and upgrades I've been working on
Devlog #4: here's a look at the Fruitsmith, one of the shops you can find in town. He will provide you with various unique upgrades for your crops to help you. Next thing I'll show is the other shops I've been working on.
Devlog #5: The Item Shop! this mysterious fellow sells a plethora of items that provide various passive effects, such as this lump of coal that turns into a diamond after a bunch of crow kills.
Devlog #6: Bosses! Bosses will appear every few waves, and you have to beat them to continue. This is a look at one of the bosses I've been working on, the Grand Wizard. He has a variety of strange attacks, like homing missiles
Devlog #7: the new and improved crow! He's looking much better than before, and finally has actual animations. I'll be working on updating the other crow's sprites and probably some UI stuff so they look a bit better.
Devlog #8: Went to see family so I wasn't able to do too much. I've been bashing my head into making GUI look good, with little luck, so instead Here's a swarm of about 256 crows all fully functional, and decently performant.
Devlog #9: New and improved Fruitsmith UI! This new UI lets you click and drag around the tree, and in general is easier for me to work with.
Devlog #10: The Wizard's animations are done, and he's been reworked. Now he will summon a zone around him that speeds up crows, and will shoot slow moving orbs at you. I've also finished the melon upgrade tree
Devlog #11: Sorry for no posts for a month lol. I've been heavily reworking the way gun and projectile stats are handled. The new system is much more flexible now. I've also added a medic crow who throws bandages at injured crows
Devlog #12: Here is the new and improved tile set for the game! I plan on adding more tiles for variety and better visuals, but this works for now.
Devlog #13: Introducing the re-sprited thief, the bandit crow! He works the same as before, moving fast to steal crops off of you and hurt you in the process

Working on a new system to sell crops before a wave starts. This will give you money, but the crop won't show up for the wave

Working on a new boss, the Grand Paladin. Playing around with a bone system instead of a sprite sheet and seeing if I can make it look good.
Also for whatever reason my last devlog did not want to post to tumblr, but I made a season system for each crop. Each crop has its own timer that determines if it is in or out of season. Each crop that is in season will show up for the wave, and I made a pop up before each wave that lets you sell the crops for extra cash, but it will become unusable for the wave.
