THE TOP GODS IN AINU MYTHOLOGY
The Ainu people of Japan suffered oppression at the hands of the Japanese which was similar to that suffered by various conquered peoples around the world at the hands of the Western World, Russia,…

For this blog’s 2nd birthday, here’s a little something with dragons. Thanks to Edward Wozniak & Balladeer’s page here, we can share much about the mythology of this blog’s main culture of focus. I hope to use a little more of the titular user inside soon. I should thank those of you keeping up for supporting this blog.

Big melt season in Chukchi and Beaufort seas affects animals, people and the weather ahead
Wide expanses of open water will add to the cycle of northern Alaska warmth and make it harder for thick ice to form in the freeze season.

This would have a very real impact on their livelihoods & the cultural behaviours. At this rate, there’d be 5 seasons at hand soon & we can't just industrialise carelessly.

I have recently come across this Chukchi & Inuit group called Ergyron, & after hearing this song, it got me thinking about how distances can bring us closer together. My editor showed me this song, & now am listening to more of their songs (subtitled). Hiyo’oy.

Eating Seal Meat Is a Vital Part of Life in My Community
Many people opposed to seal hunting don't understand that kids in indigenous communities are hungry, and it's painful to see that. It's ridiculous that other cultures are welcome to survive off of our natural resources, but we're not.

Before anyone here loses their minds regarding the seals, please read this to know the perspective, and check out the video inside. This touches on important issues facing many of my editor’s kinds among his Native ethnicities. Especially for the Inuits & the high costs of groceries combined with inflation, I can’t help but see parallels to food importation costs in my own homelands.  The video of the caribou toward the end looks sonno keraan (truly tasty).

Russia’s Chukotka and America’s Alaska are an era apart
Despite being in spitting distance across the Bering Strait

There shall be hope that my northern neighbour can in at least catch up in some ways to the welfare of the residents, even if the Nuca & Etok-nuca to have stayed are in a rather awkward situation.

Maybe a little light for the circumpolar part of the Eagle should do us some good too. Sadly, it’s getting too warm for these at an unprecedented pace and we should make the effort towards balancing our needs towards preservation & adaptation as needed.

Folks, friends, y’all…. esk*mo is a slur. I understand a lot of people don’t know that, I don’t want to be a dick about it, but I’ve been seeing it in fics. Wanna write “esk*mo kisses”? Just say “nuzzled noses” or something.

I’m not here to call anybody out, it’s been in multiple fics, I’m not vague posting. This is just a psa. 👍🏻

See This Picture? This Comes From A Town In Canada Where A 24 Pack Of Water Bottles Is 104 Dollars And

See this picture? This comes from a town in Canada where a 24 pack of water bottles is 104 dollars and formula milk for a baby is priced at 55 dollars a pack. What’s more, a pack of diapers is 95 dollars and one head of lettuce is 26 dollars. Inuit people are starving in a country known for it’s generosity.

If you don’t believe this is true, you can find more images like this here. This is the only grocery store these people have in their small towns, and many people are going hungry & elderly are dying faster.

You’ll send aid to foreign children that are starving, so why won’t you pay a little extra to feed the people in your own country who work hard & still can’t afford the prices for healthy food for their families?

Please have a heart and reblog this photo to raise awareness that even in our own countries people are starving, join the movement and show the government that we won’t sit by and watch people starve.

If you think this will make your blog ugly you’re wrong. Children in a first world country are getting sick & starving, and nobody is even aware it’s happening. You can let people know by reblogging and showing you care. People I am close to, my friends and future in-laws are going through this.
