Apparently it meant the stars were aligned bc, (as usual) I hyper fixated on it for the next week and found a signed 5th anniversary edition (now on it’s way) and that there’s a series being made on it.

Actors are by nature volatile—alchemic creatures composed of incendiary elements, emotion and ego and envy. Heat them up, stir them together, and sometimes you get gold. Sometimes disaster.

Honestly, it’s so tragically ironic how Oliver spends most of the novel as the sidekick, but you know what eventually forces him out of that role? Not Gwedolyn or Frederick, not the Richard situation, but James. He becomes not the companion, the accomplice, not an accessory to murder, but the murderer. The protagonist and villain in Richard’s death. And all for James. Fuck.
