Jungkook’s adlibs in ‘letter’ are so heavenly
Exactlyyyyy.
For myself and any sensible jikooker, we already knew that Jimin was not about to say outright that Letter was written for JK. We also knew he was going to say that it's a fan song.
I do believe Jimin. He is an honest person and I don't think he is lying at all.
BUT.
The sus remains.
It's sus that JK's vocals were used at all. It's sus where and how his vocals were used. It's sus that Jimin hasn't mentioned JK yet. It's sus that it's a fan song, but only on the physical album.
Jimin is an artist and he uses creative ways to express himself, as does JK. I believe that is what we are seeing with Letter. There are layers to this song, and there are layers to this whole beautiful album. There is nothing wrong with Jimin omitting any information about his song if he is doing so. He does not owe us anything, especially about his personal life.
But you can hear, see, and feel that he is sharing something hidden and special in a hidden track with almost hidden background vocals by a special person on his solo no-features album.
Layers.

There is something I'm wondering about or maybe I miss sth out. Jimin mentioned letter 3rd times. The 1st one was in the live after his prerecord , 2nd was on shuchitaw and the last one was on promotion live
but why he didn't even say a single word about the collaboration with jk on the song? Or he did and I missed it? Idk
Like my man could simply adding the hidden vocals himself 💀
and yet jk was there with his beautiful voice and jimin didn't even mention him? Idk maybe I'm overreacting 💀

Okay, I think something we need to be clear about is that letter is not a collaboration with Jungkook or a feature, he provided the background vocals, nothing else.
The inclusion of Jungkook I think is what has made many people question the meaning of the song and not only that but the part where Jungkook appears. As you said and as many have said, Jimin could have done the background vocals himself for the whole song but no, he did the first part, then Jungkook came in and in the end, it was both of them. Why? also, why Jungkook?
The fact that he didn't mention Jungkook so far is also a bit interesting, if it was someone else I would understand but it's Jungkook, another member of his group and one of his best friends, why not mention him? even more so when he said that he saw the videos that have been uploaded to social media with the song and I think they all mention Jungkook so he has confirmation that the fandom knows about Jungkook's participation in the song but so far, he hasn't said anything.
Just a thought about Letter...
I've been listening to 편지 a few times before I sleep. It's become a lullaby. I'm so thankful Jimin shared this gem with us. 😭 Anywayyys. Whenever I hear the first 15 seconds of the song and the 15 seconds starting at 3:10 I am always struck with certain imagery.

I can see two people laying in bed cozily. An open window and the sounds of the ocean and a light breeze flow in gently.
One person is speaking Jimin's words very softly, almost a whisper. As the other gives a soft "Mm" as if to say "I'm listening, love."
That "Mm" sound gets me every time:
It's really interesting how the soft whisper-like singing and the "Mm" sound is used at the beginning and the end of the song.
It really sounds and feels quite intimate.
Just a thought I had. I'm probably not the only one who thought about this.
Oh and I'm sure you know who I think Jimin is whispering sweet nothings to. That someone's name does not start with an A. 🥰

Was just listening to Letter, for like the 800th time (I know y’all do it too 🥰). I was just reminded of just how intimate and beautiful this song is. And that Jimin wrote this song to Jungkook. “I know that it’s obvious but I’ll deliver these words so it’s not taken lightly”. Wow. Jimin had a message to JK in this song he wanted to make sure JK heard loud and clear. “Though it’s scary, though we’re afraid, never forget that we’re together”. I know we all probably cried when we first heard this song. I know I did and truth be told I’m sitting here crying again just thinking about what this song means to Jimin and Jungkook. Not a song for ARMY, not even close.
To me one of the things that makes this song SO beautiful, even beyond how it sounds, is what it means. It’s a love letter written from Jimin’s heart. And thank you Jimin for trusting us enough to show us who is in your heart and who your heart belongs to.

This song is my jam. It may actually be my favorite BTS song. I wish wish wish in the recorded version you could hear the part I want to highlight better, but it just doesn’t do it justice. I typically prefer Korean versions of songs just because I love the way the language sounds. The english version of Like Crazy was so well done AND the intro vocals just hit different. It sounds higher, angelic, and sexier than the Korean version and it gets me every time.

Hi anon. Oh it’s definitely sus. They glazed over it more than a doughnut!! They didn’t talk about the original lyrics Jimin wrote either that made it even more personal. And of course we didn’t see Jimin asking Jungkook to be on the song. And all he told him was that he “wrote a fan song”. Idk but whenever we saw Jungkook in the recording booth and they started the track with Jimin singing “Baby” I felt some type of way. The butterflies type of way. Maybe that’s why we didn’t see much of Jungkook’s face. I bet he was endeared too. And Jungkook is known to wear his emotions on his sleeve.

“Letter”: Covid, struggles, vows and love…
I’v been living my day as well as I could, playing “Set me free” and “Like crazy” ( i’m in love with Like Crazy dance practice, it shakes me and seduces every time) almost non stop but then I think about “Letter” and I have so many thoughts boiling in my head:
First I have to say that if this letter is for JK is because maybe JK was the main support for Jimin during his struggles and so while the Covid, and now JIMIN is sending this letter to JK as maybe voicing out that he is with him “together” no matter what, and that he will help and support JK what ever the future holds or during chapter 2 3 4 5… A letter that’s as well a confession and a commitment vow. That it’s too deep, LETTER is too deep, is more than a simple romantic love song/letter.
Second let’s Look back at this last few weeks… everything can’t be casual anymore… first why our tender-soul-Jk was doing lives so late? Drinking and singing ballads… on White day … he is boring at night, sorry but obviously there is no other girlfriend/ boyfriend around to entertain him… it’s like he was passing the time while his night company is bussy working… he is not used to live alone.
That live on white day, was so early for his preferences, he finish saying to look forward Set me free… and the same thing at 4 in the morning finishing with a guitar spoiler of Letter…
OHhh If they were only friends or brothers doesn’t make sense, there is something deeper, he never talks about the work of the rest, he sings their songs, yes, but he was really into Jimin solo album… one that was about his struggles, then the difficult process of acceptance and growth then after a lot of time in silence… that letter.
They are together no matter what. Even after all… may be “they” is all the members, the ones that support JIMIN, maybe he can say in his future live of the 29th that it was for them all… but it could be true in certain way but there at the end of the list it’s him, JK. He is someone really really really important for JIMIN, like a part of him… you only feel something like this with your partner or a son… that’s why he is allowed to sing with him in this Album, always will support him. They are the sun ad moon duo!!
Jk was so happy playing the guitar… at night for us… He has said that they love to drink at night after work and chill ( on “INTERLUDE DIVE he does it) and… how can someone as beautiful and sensual as JK can stay with his hands away of someone as beautiful and sensual as JIMIN, and viceversa???? They are so flirty, specially JIMIN ( remember “Like Crazy” this man is fire , you can control it/him) At night these two… I’ve been there… it’s something you can’t resist… I don’t know nothing for sure, how could I?? but everything between them gave me the vibe of an special love relation in their own terms, not a convencional one but full of the thing that matters: LOVE.
