I stopped watching RWBY around the end of Volume 5. Didn't like where it was going (specifically with Adam and Raven, as OP said) and, from what I've seen, it's a good thing I bailed out when I did.
Cause from what I've heard, good fuck what a shit show.
I can still appreciate the first few volumes, and I still like those versions of the characters, but afterwards? Fuckin hell, man.
So I finally caught up to RWBY and there’s a major problem with it.
So, I finally got myself up to speed on RWBY after so many years of ignoring it, and there is a major problem storytelling wise.

A sound team rwby strategy
Every Rwby fan should see this! It is exactly the feeling that the series wants to transmit. That empathy to see how the characters are maturing and teaching us beautiful life lessons. Knowing how to differentiate good from evil, to understand how love can bring tragedies but still worth fighting for.

Blake: smells nice and can purr. Makes me miss mommy a little.

Pyrrha: gushes so much, but gives good treats.
