Ik Joaquin loved Maria (or at least he thought he did) and all, but if he REALLY loved her he would not have put her in a position where she felt obligated to be with him. That’s like grade A manipulation.

He’s played up to be a narcissistic muscle head, and I see where that comes in, but he clearly cares for both Manolo and Maria, and he proves that in the second half of the movie.

He’s just stupid and emotionally immature, but he’s a good boy.

This is something I drew like six months ago and posted on Instagram, but I'm still really proud of it so I'm going to post it here too.

When I drew this I watched the movie (The book of Life) five time in a row (not including the couple of times I watched it prior that day) an drew for 30 hours straight without taking a break. So it's kinda an understatement to say that this is one of my more favorite art pieces I drew!
