"Why do you feel you are a good candidate for this postition?"
*me trying to professionally put a spin on "I just really like to eat and pay my bills and my debt off and also living under a bridge is hard and I am kinda of a 25 year old toddler "*

how is it fair that i have to apply for 20+ jobs over 5 days and write individualised cover keys and employers can ask stupid questions that can be answered by reading my CV which they asked me to attach. i have to put in a lot of time, effort, and emotional energy applying to jobs. and then employers don’t even have to respond to me. i’m lucky to hear back that i didn’t get the job. it’s not fair that i am not being hired for entry level dishwashing position because i “don’t have enough experience” when i WORKED IN A KITCHEN for 2.5 years and therefore WASHED DISHES FOR 2.5 MOTHERFUCKING YEARS. and the worst part. the most grating part. is that these sleezeball business owning mitherfuckers are STILL complaining that young people are lazy and don’t want to work.
i am feeling big 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
The new aesthetic: employablecore
It’s where I take all of these individualising aspects of myself I fought tooth and claw for and hide them, rip them away until I look palatable enough to work a cash register. The tattoos I won, the hair I grew out, out of spite for overbearing religious relatives and then for myself, all covered and trimmed until I can be seen as desirable again to sell my labour. The way I learned to laugh out loud, the visible tics, the fully realised Me that I just came to love only recently — he’s going elsewhere for a while.
At least when I was selling my body, nobody expected me to change. Now that I desire to clean my hands I discover the soap comes in only one brand, and I hate the supermarket stench of it.
Reaching the asymptote of too broke to get a job and too chronically available to be sexy for employers
Person: Omg, your hair is so long!
Me: Thanks! I've been growing it out for a while
Person: How do you keep from sitting on it?
Me: It's actually not quite long enough to actually sit on, but I usually have it up-
Person: Like, how to you wear it when you're in the bathroom or something?"
Me: ..It's normally tied up to sit on my shoulders instead of my lower back.
Person: But what about when it's down?
Me: Then I throw it over my shoulder..? Why is this relavent?
Person: Are you gonna dye it again?
Me: Soon, hopefully
Person: Why don't you dye it every few months?
Me: Because I don't get paid enough for that
Person: Oh. How much does this job pay?
Me: Depending on the venue, anywhere from $10 to $16 an hour, out home venue paying the lowest
Person: Have you thought about getting another job?
Me: I've been looking, yeah
Person: Why not just get a new job?
Me: I'm trying to get a second one
Person: Just get a better paying job
Me: I know, but the job market is shit right now
Person: You young people just don't want to work!
Me: I'm trying to get a second job with 4 years experience and no degree. People aren't exactly lining up to hire me
Person: Then go to school and get a degree! You're good at your job, so not having a degree is the only thing stopping you
Me: I can't go to school; it's too expensive
Person: Then get a better paying job and pay your way through
Me: *screams*
