Well, I got the fabric I ordered from Joann's a few days ago and it just isn't the right kind of fabric. I need something closer to leather and this is actual fabric. So, imma have to return it. But, I found this fabric instead and ordered it so hopefully in a few days I will have a good fabric!
Worked some more on Lady Sif's shield tonight. Still waiting on my fabric to get here, which is honestly starting to upset me. I was supposed to receive it today but usps never dropped it off. #dumbfucks Once I get that fabric I can really start rolling on the shield! Can't wait!
Spent another 4 hours working on Lady Sif tonight. I know it doesn't look like I did much but that detail work is very tedious. Also, yes I'm well aware of the colorfulness, that will be taken care of after I can cover it all in thibra! My back is officially killing me and I still have to go grocery shopping and eat... #FML #cosplaylife #itwillallbeworthit #LadySif #thiscostumewillprobablykillme
3 ish more hours on Lady Sif's shield. Starting to come together! I actually feel like I accomplished something today vs. yesterday. I'm at about 9-10 hours work and I'm no where near done. This costume is probably gonna be a couple hundred hours of work. Which is fine. It's just a little unexpected for it to take quite as long as it seems to be taking. It will be worth it!
Another 3 or so hours on Sif's shield. It's actually starting to be recognizable! I've got one more section of detail work to cut out then I have to glue it all down. *whew* I'm getting excited for how good I think this is going to look when I'm done! Fingers crossed it'll be in the next week or so!
Golly gee willakers it took me another 7 hours to get to this point! I'm at approximately 19 1/2 hours working on the shield now. Whew!! Learned some things. Had to make some changes that I wasn't planning on but I think it looks pretty damn good! Still gotta cover the back piece in the fabric, paint this piece and attach the 2, but we're getting there! Feeling accomplished!!
4 1/2 hours working on Lady Sif tonight got me the foam bases for her skirt. At about 24 hours total working on this costume so far... whew!
About an hour spent on Lady Sif's sword tonight.
