Lady Sif Shield - Tumblr Posts
Started on Lady Sif finally. Got the foam base for her shield cut out. Ordered some fabric online today for the costume. Can't wait for it to come in! Gotta go get me some craft foam from the dollar tree so I can do the intricate detail work...
Worked some more on Lady Sif's shield tonight. Still waiting on my fabric to get here, which is honestly starting to upset me. I was supposed to receive it today but usps never dropped it off. #dumbfucks Once I get that fabric I can really start rolling on the shield! Can't wait!
Spent another 4 hours working on Lady Sif tonight. I know it doesn't look like I did much but that detail work is very tedious. Also, yes I'm well aware of the colorfulness, that will be taken care of after I can cover it all in thibra! My back is officially killing me and I still have to go grocery shopping and eat... #FML #cosplaylife #itwillallbeworthit #LadySif #thiscostumewillprobablykillme
3 ish more hours on Lady Sif's shield. Starting to come together! I actually feel like I accomplished something today vs. yesterday. I'm at about 9-10 hours work and I'm no where near done. This costume is probably gonna be a couple hundred hours of work. Which is fine. It's just a little unexpected for it to take quite as long as it seems to be taking. It will be worth it!
Golly gee willakers it took me another 7 hours to get to this point! I'm at approximately 19 1/2 hours working on the shield now. Whew!! Learned some things. Had to make some changes that I wasn't planning on but I think it looks pretty damn good! Still gotta cover the back piece in the fabric, paint this piece and attach the 2, but we're getting there! Feeling accomplished!!
Another 5 or so hours on Lady Sif tonight. Making ok progress. Got some of the vinyl pieces attached to the foam. This was a new process to me so there are a couple spots I'm not totally happy with but overall not too bad. Plus, I'm learning which is good. I have about 4 1/2 months to get this done. Whew! Wish me luck!!
The shield is done!!!!!!!!! The only thing I still have to do on it is attach the straps to the back but other than that it's DONE!!!!! YAY! Only took about 24 hours of work, lol.
