This is really more for my own records since no one looks at this but me. Got my Inuyasha wig detangled finally. Started separating it so I can work on teasing the underside to add serious volume! Yay me and my tenacity!
Inuyasha wig is separated out after two hours of hard work! Not sure if it helped or not, but I was wearing nitrile gloves while working with it cause of a cut on my finger and it seemed to cooperate more! So, note to self, wear gloves! Lol Next step, tease, tease, tease!
Latex on fosshape test for my sister's Ahsoka costume. How will this play out??? @dryadknight
Mixed with paint, layer 1 on the right. Also, smoothed out fosshape on the left layer 2, and only paint mixed in the middle layer 2. Looking promising! @dryadknight
Smoothed out fosshape with three layers of latex. Looks pretty good! And then we have smoothed out fosshape with three layers of latex and one layer of pure paint, three layers of paint mixed with latex, and then five layers of latex with two layers of paint mixed with latex on top. Let’s see how this goes!
Done teasing after a screwup that took 2 hours to fix! Lol Teasing took about 3 total hours with the screwup. Now I have to work on the front and bangs!
Cut the front pieces for his hair. Looks pretty good I think!
Inuyasha ears are sewn together and I’ve started the layers of latex.
Got the ears attached. Now to wait for the glue to dry…
Started on Lady Sif finally. Got the foam base for her shield cut out. Ordered some fabric online today for the costume. Can't wait for it to come in! Gotta go get me some craft foam from the dollar tree so I can do the intricate detail work...
Worked some more on Lady Sif's shield tonight. Still waiting on my fabric to get here, which is honestly starting to upset me. I was supposed to receive it today but usps never dropped it off. #dumbfucks Once I get that fabric I can really start rolling on the shield! Can't wait!
Spent another 4 hours working on Lady Sif tonight. I know it doesn't look like I did much but that detail work is very tedious. Also, yes I'm well aware of the colorfulness, that will be taken care of after I can cover it all in thibra! My back is officially killing me and I still have to go grocery shopping and eat... #FML #cosplaylife #itwillallbeworthit #LadySif #thiscostumewillprobablykillme
3 ish more hours on Lady Sif's shield. Starting to come together! I actually feel like I accomplished something today vs. yesterday. I'm at about 9-10 hours work and I'm no where near done. This costume is probably gonna be a couple hundred hours of work. Which is fine. It's just a little unexpected for it to take quite as long as it seems to be taking. It will be worth it!
Another 3 or so hours on Sif's shield. It's actually starting to be recognizable! I've got one more section of detail work to cut out then I have to glue it all down. *whew* I'm getting excited for how good I think this is going to look when I'm done! Fingers crossed it'll be in the next week or so!
Golly gee willakers it took me another 7 hours to get to this point! I'm at approximately 19 1/2 hours working on the shield now. Whew!! Learned some things. Had to make some changes that I wasn't planning on but I think it looks pretty damn good! Still gotta cover the back piece in the fabric, paint this piece and attach the 2, but we're getting there! Feeling accomplished!!
About 2 more hours tonight garnered my gauntlets covered in thibra and shaped. Not perfect. There's some spots I'm not totally happy with but I'm learning. They still look pretty good even if not as good as I would like.
Another 5 hours tonight got the skirt covered in pleather finally. Starting to see the finish line with parts of this but still so much left to do!!!
