Interview with a Vampire AU Idea
Okay, so I have been watching stuff about the new or semi- new 'Interview with a Vampire' TV show. And it is giving me a what if.
What if Louie was not the one that Lestat turned in the US? What if in the early eighteen hundred he had found a former slave girl who had run away from her master and was using the light skin tone she had due to generations of owners raping their slaves to escape detection from those who would take her back and found her interesting enough to make her the object of his affections. And in typical Lestat fashion made her the one he was obsessed over. But due to her slavery she either thinks this treatment is normal because it is what she had seen growing up and is just happy he is kind to her and even marries her giving everything she never dared to dream of. And being a former slave even if she doesn't like the way she is treated she knows exactly how to behave to make sure he stays kind.
Until Lestat gets tired of the rumors that his beloved is somehow broken due to the fact they have no children and turns a pair of twins to be their forever children. And that gives his beloved the spark to start fighting back fully to protect the kids under her care. They even call her Mama all the time. But the important part is that like in the show Lestat beats the kids mama badly one night. However like in the book, the children are the one to poison him to make sure he doesn't follow when their injured Mama tells them that they are going to leave when she wakes up the beating Lestat gave her. It is a get beat up one day, leave the next type of situation.
Now one of the things that draws Lestat to their Mama is that she is an empath that is always giving to those around her. When he finds her she is going home late from teaching children in a brothel and attending to one that was sick despite not knowing when or if she would eat next. He immediately lends himself to her aid when some others try to waylay the pretty girl saying that she is his business partners niece and they needed to get to her uncle.
Anyway, just a weird little idea that I had. I might write it out some, or I might not. Please let me know any positive opinions.
Interview with a Vampire AU
Lily could feel the eyes watching her. It was normal, just keep your head down and walk on. Never let them catch you.
Footsteps following her, no need to panic. Just because you are on the edge of the red light district does not mean they assume you are a whore. Just keep walking and get out of here.
Speed went up a few notches as she hurried forward towards the respectable part of town and away from the slum she really lived. She dodges the hand that grabs at her and stumbles into the wall, and suddenly two men were in front of her. Great.
One of them grinned coldly, "Now, pretty lady. Are you going to let us have some of the pie or not?"
Then an accented voice spoke, "Mon chere Mademoiselle Du Point, how are you this fine evening?"
Seeing a tall, blonde man striding towards them and seeming to be addressing her Lily spoke, "I would be better if these ruffians would not waylay me." She had pulled herself up haughtily and could have sworn the foreigner, probably French, winked at her.
With the wave of his cane, "Shall I send them to route for you Mademoiselle?" The ruff men were moving back and forth, considering if they could take the well dressed. Did they think she was worth trying for?
One of them who smelled of smoke and beer snorted, "Keep 'er." And walked away with his companion.
When they were gone she gave her rescuer a proper curtsy, "Thank you for your help sir." Straightening, "But as you clearly have other plans for tonight I shall take my leave of you."
The mans eyes were laughing, "Mon Chere, please allow me to escort you." Seeing her bite her lip in consideration, "At least permit me to buy you some refreshment."
Studying him, "If only to make you lie believable Mr?"
With a laugh he bowed, "I am Lestat de Lioncourt." Then with a smile, "And you Mademoiselle?"
With a swallow to wet her throat again, "Lily Du Point."
Offering her his arm, "Is that truly your last name?"
Taking his arm with a smile, "Why deny the name you gave me sir?" His laugh rang down the street as they walked together into the night.

Lesat became a regular part of Lily's life, walking her home from the school in the red light district. She taught the children that such places were bound to produce, in the hopes that at least some of them could get a better life. One that she had not had in her seventeen years.
On the way home Lestat would always insist on eating at a resturant, even if the waiters eyed Lily's common dress with distaste. She did not blame them, everything here was for the upper class. One that Lily was clearly not a part of.
A few months into their friendship, Lestat changed things up and took her to a dress shop. There a young French woman took the order for clothes. To Lily's surprise the produced measuring tape was brought to her. Lestat only smiled, "You shall have the clothes that you deserve Mon Chere."
In those months he had been teaching her french, and she blushed slightly at this endearment. When the young lady was done the unlikely pair left the shop and walked by the river to a picnic that Lestat had arranged for her. They talked for hours under the stars, and listening to the crickets sing. Before Lily gave a jaw cracking yawn that made Lestat laugh and pronounce that it was time to take her home.

After the new clothes were made, Lily would go to other fancy places with Lestat. Parties, the theatre, everywhere it seemed he would take her. There were whispers and she knew what they were about, the eccentric Frenchman had a new mistress and was shamelessly showing her off.
The only positive thing others would say about it was that at least the girl knew her place. Hardly speaking and staying on the edge so it was easy to ignore her intrusion into their midst. Only going anywhere near the center when the Frenchman took her there.
Lily knew all of this but did not try to deny that she did not belong, she didn't. But she was still going to enjoy the strange ride that Lesat had put her on until it ended. And maybe learn more to teach the children under her care of how to act around the higher classes.
Interview With A Vampire AU Part 2
It has been a year since Lily first met Lastat and they are both a fixture in the others life now. Lily wasn't really thinking about that now, as Lestat told her that he had a surprise for her after work. So she had hurried home to change her dress.
When Lestat came she was ready a washed face and hands, and was wearing one of the dresses he had bought for her. Instead of the slums she had been living in, she now was in a small apartment in the working class part of town. People still whispered about her and the man who was there every night but she did not let it bother her. Yes, Lestat probably has a far more willing lover and was just making a joke out of society by elevating her. But Lily would make sure to learn as much as possible in order to help the kids she taught and their families.
Lestat's smile was softly fond and he extended his hand for her, "Mon Chere." After the bow and hand kiss he always gave he motioned down the hallway, "Shall we go." She nodded and took his arm, wondering what this night would hold.

Lestat had brought a carriage and took her to the best restaurant in the city before going to one of the best theatres that was doing her favorite play. The two of them had a private box and she watched in wonder as the characters came alive on stage. It seemed that Lestat had an answer to every question she had and Lily was relaxed when Lestat handed her into the carriage.
There was pleasant conversation until the carriage stopped at a park and Lestat got down. Lily looked at him as he extended his hand for her, "Are you ready for your surprise Mon Chere?" Nodding once she put her hand into his and stepped down from the carriage.
It was the same park they had walked through the night the met and had picnics at many times. So she tucked her hand into his elbow and walked with him, "How do you feel about the new year?" He asked her seemingly out of nowhere.
Lily looked up at him, "There are days that if it weren't for the two at the end I would still think it was eighteen ten." Giving his arm a small squeeze, "But if it was, I would not have met you." Lestat's eyes had gotten a look she could not identify, but she knew better than to ask, "Lestat," he focused on her, "I meant that seeing and spending time with you is what I look forward to."
His smile was blinding, "I look forward to our time together as well Mon Chere." Brushing her cheek with his right hand, "You give meaning to my days and fill my dreams at night."
By this time they had reached a clearing that was filled with candle light at there was a picnic set out again. Lily let go of Lestat's arm and moved forward, "What is all of this?"
"Mon Chere," Lily turned to see Lestat framed by the darkness and trees, "you are everything that I want and need filling every part of my mind and soul." Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a small box, "Lily Johnson du Point, will you marry me?"
Tears filled her eyes but every part of him was sincere about this. Stepping forward to him, "Yes Lestat de Lioncourt, I will marry you."
Lestat's hands shook slightly as he slid the ring onto her finger and stood with her hands held in his, "Mi Amor." Over the picnic they talked about when and where they would marry, with the decision that three months was enough time to prepare for the small ceremony that they wanted. In the light of the candles and stars, Lily kissed her fiance's cheek. Which caused a pleased smile and laugh to break out of him.
Interview with a Vampire AU Part 3
The months before the wedding for Lily du Point and Lestat de Lioncourt passed quickly, but everything was ready on the day. If Lily wondered why her fiancee refused to go outside before sundown or believed it to be odd, she showed no sign of it. Because to her it wasn't, it was just part of Lestat.
Their wedding was a small, mostly private affair with tasteful flowers and only their closest friends. But it was beautiful, and the white dress against Lily's lightly tanned skin with tawny brown hair falling in ringlets from the severe bun made her appearance as a bride even more beautiful.
Lestat seemed to be ready to burst with joy and pride as she walked to him with her modest bouquet. With him there she did not feel the absence of father or brother by her side to give her to him. Instead walking alone down the aisle, and giving her bouquet to her little bridesmaid.
After the ceremony there was dinner and dancing at Lestat's home. Lily kept having to remind herself that she also lived here now. The party went until early in the morning, when the last guest finally left. Lestat offered her his arm and led her upstairs to her bedchamber. This was the part she was nervous about, actually sleeping together to consummate their marriage. But he gave her to a maid saying that she should rest after such a long day and night.
It would go on like that for close to a year, never actually sleeping together for it. Parties, public engagements, everything they would go to together until he brought her home and told her to rest because he would be out late. Lestat would not rise and join her until four in the afternoon when he would have tea with her. Then everything would start again.
Lily's favorite times were when they just stayed in and sat together in the library. Lestat would read to her as she sewed or knitted and they would talk about many things. But never why he would not consummate their marriage or the true reason he left France.
It was a few days after their year anniversary party when once again they sat in the library. When the clock struck ten Lestat kissed her hand and told her not to wait up for him before leaving for the nightlife of the town. Lily knew he must have a lover out there but she did not say anything about it, just took herself to bed so she would be rested for the tutors on the next day. That was how Lestat filled her days as a lady, giving her the best tutors possible and having her visit with the lady's kind enough to receive her.
Lily could not remember why she woke that night long before she usually would. It was four in the morning, four hours before the maid would lay out her day dress and she would breakfast in the morning room. But she felt the need to be up, and wanted to talk to Lestat. So she put her candle, put on her slippers and wrapped the robe over her night gown before going downstairs to see if he was home. A draft threatened her small candle so she shielded it with her hand as she walked, and found Lestat's unlit candle on the table where it was left.
There were noises coming down the hall, so Lily went to see what was the matter. She was the lady if the house and it was her duty to keep it running smoothly for her husband. Looking in to the lit doorway she saw that robbers had broken in. So she started slipping quickly and silently back down the hall to ring the bell that would alert the house of the danger. It would have been a good plan if not for the anger that caused the men to argue and sent one of them out into the corridor. Seeing her he called to his companions, "The Frenchies whore is awake."
Lily ran down the hall, away from them. But she could hear them gaining on her as she reached the foot of the stairs. Seeing that the candle there was gone she screamed, "Lestat!"
The men behind her laughed and she could feel hands grabbing at her. But in a moment they were gone. Somehow in the space of a few seconds the three men following her had disappeared. There was a the sounds of struggle down the hall so the grabbed the rapier from the hall, Lestat had been teaching her how to use it, and hurried to the sound.
The scene she saw was out of a nightmare. The stone floor of the cellar was now red with blood, two bodies with their heads ripped off lay adding to it. The third man was struggling to escape the clamp Lestat had on his neck. Her husband was splattered in the blood, and when he dropped the man he was holding and turned to her his face and mouth were covered in it.
"Mi Amor," he stepped towards her and she stepped back. Seeing the fear on her eyes at his appearance, "There is no need for you to fear me Mon Chere." Keeping her attention as he took out a cloth to wipe his face, "This is what I've always been."
Finding her voice, "And what is that?"
With the familiar smile, "I am a vampire." Her quick blink showing she was processing this and another few steps back was the only response he got. Talking a deep breath, "Mi Amor, let me clean this up. Afterwards we will sit in the library and I will explain everything alright." Lily nodded once and went to the library and stirred up the few coals that reminded of the fire to build it up again.
Lily could never tell just how long she waited in that slowly warming room for her husband to come. But when he did he had changed out of the bloodstained clothes into his nightwear and sat in the chair across from her. Looking into her face, "I will start at the beginning." So the story started with the year he was born, touched on his childhood, his time as the wolf killer, how he stated at the theatre in Paris where his maker found him. He told of the time in his makers lair, the old bodies that were so like him, how he was turned instead of killed and begged for his maker to stay with him before witnessing his makers suicide. How he bought the theatre he once worked at with the money his maker left and his interactions with the Paris coven which became a part of his theater. His need to leave, and the journey through the world until he found her. Finally he ended, "I meant it when I told you that you are my light and reason for living."
Looking at the man she still loved, now knowing how dangerous he was she finally spoke, "I need to have some time to process all of this. "
It was clear that it was not the answer he was hoping for but he nodded, "Good night Mon Chere." With that he left the room and the clock struck eight.
I have promised some things on here and started things on multiple sites. Curse my hyper fixation being in between things at the moment so I can't do any of it!
