I've recently discovered Lisa the Painful and I now shall cope by making a domestic school Au where Buddy goes to school and nobody dies and Undertale happens in the same universe and Chara/Asriel are still alive and Chara and Buddy are both small children that commit war crimes and Dustin, Frisk, and Asriel try to stop them but Dustin and Asriel are big pushovers and Brad and Asgore are friends and Lisa is still alive and M*rty never did those things to his kids and everyone is happy and-

Breaking down Buddy’s motivations in LISA the Joyful through the song Loudmouth (SPOILERS!)
This is a post that bunnyhops from a similar essay(?) I did about Rando. I recommend you read that first, here.
I converted THIS rant from a Twitter thread (and has WAY LESS spelling errors this time).
I consider Loudmouth by AJJ to be a great song through which to examine Buddy’s perspective in LISA the Joyful. I also think it works as a direct sister song to Be Nice to Me. Where Be Nice To Me asks ‘Why are you like this?’ Loudmouth responds ‘THIS is why.’
Re-contextualising these lyrics as a vehicle to break down Buddy’s motivations allowed me get to the root to why her frustrations led her to her bloody rampage in Joyful, and what (to me at least) belies Buddy’s deeply tragic and sympathetic motivation through which she rationalises as the only way she can save herself from harm. Also I this song is a banger, so, enjoy that.

Imagine if Brad, back in his youth, before the flash, would have called Dusty "Kiddo" at that time, like how the name "Buddy" appeared. And both of kids have never canonicaly called him "Dad". It's always been just Brad.
