Thats actually only due to a lack of atmosphere. See, according to audiology.org, the sun would actually make a sound somewhere between 10 and 100 times louder than speakers at a rock concert, which would be between 1,200 db and 12,000 db (for reference, jet engines are 150 db, give or take). The sound would be around 100 db once it reached us mortals. But it doesn't, because sound waves need matter to travel through. Since the sun has no atmosphere, you're silent no matter how much sound you technically generate. Additionally, no sound can reach you, because again you have no atmosphere for the sound waves to travel through.
