I love these concepts!!!! The chainsaw is a great modern stand-in for his axe, and the trench coat looks so good.
Also, I think he would like cats, seeing as he often acts like one. Personally, I think he’d name them edgy things, like Diaval, Dante, Cain, Lucifer (like the cat in Cinderella), and Mordred. And, oh, let’s say he had one named something like Despair or Sorrow. Then, he’d have the chance to snipe at Rhian with lines like: “Ah, brother, is Despair plaguing you yet again?” while a cat is just clinging to Rhian’s clothes, annoying him. Ooh, or if he had four specifically, he could name them: Famine, War, Death, and Pestilence.
Felt like drawing Rafal with a chainsaw and a cat (I'm not sure if Rafal would even like cats, but I think that he likes birds so let's just pretend that cats are birds./j)

Can you tell I've never attempted to properly draw a chainsaw before? -w-" I thought it would look best as mostly flat colors, but if you would prefer it shaded, I left it in separate layers so that I could go back and do that. (I call it Jethro 2.0 btw)
Dark Matter - I Love and Despise You
My early DAЯK MATTEЯ stuff was kind of silly, wasn’t it? This was my attempt at writing a love song despite only being 15 and never having been in love before. I remember we called in a friend of ours, Suzy Bowman, to play my girlfriend in the video.
Shooting this was quite fun. It helped that I had played the song in enough bars around town that it was already a fan favorite, so I decided to release it as a single and include it on my debut album, Dark Matter.

so it’s canon that Niall Lynch loved W.B. Yeats’ poetry right? I mean he has a line (from my favourite poem) hanging over his bed. so if Niall insisted on reading Alice in Wonderland to his kids, that means he introduced them to his favourite poetry too?
Ronan has one worn out copy of poems left over from his father. the spine is cracked and the cover peels but it has the fingerprints of three generations on its pages. and it doesn’t smell like a dream book.
he reads to Opal during the day, when she is anxious and wound up and refuses to eat or sleep or even look at Chainsaw. she rests her head in his lap while he reads to her, and curls her fingers tighter around his when he tells her “the boughs have withered because I have told them my dreams”
when the pig pulls up into the front yard of the barns past midnight, Ronan will rise from his armchair (they always coordinated their insomnia) and take the book from the shelf. he meets Gansey on the porch and they sit on the edge, legs dangling, as Ronan talks of Sailing to Byzantium and Rising and Going to Inisfree, being anywhere other than inside their own heads.
he keeps his favourite ones for Adam. he speaks of stolen children when they lie before the fireplace on rainy nights, being lead astray by fairies and their promises. he tells Adam about his history when they walk the fields at dusk, Easter 1916, the regrets of broken bodies, and all the men they lost. finally, at night, when the moon is their only source of light, they lie in bed mere inches apart, as Ronan gently touches Adams cheek, then his jaw, and finally his lips, and he barely whispers “and a softness came from starlight, and filled me to the bone.”

this is a repost because the quantity/contents of my tags dropped it out of search (why does this always happen to me? does it happen to anyone else?? why is tumblr like this???) but Listen:
Ronan and Adam wake up one day with a heaping mass of grey fur between them and blearily panic that Ronan has brought a bear back from his dreams
They soon realise that it is in fact a colossal dog with a ridiculously regal/wise countenance who befriends Chainsaw in .2 seconds and materialises beside Ronan whenever he’s feeling particularly angsty or whenever shit is going down
It’s a very big dog
It’s a very very tall dog
Imagine Ronan in the middle of a showdown with a gigantic mythical (magical?) war hound at his side
But also Ronan remembering Niall acting out the legend of Cú Chulainn and the wolfhound
And thinking about Cú Chulainn’s self imposed penance for slaying the hound in self-defence and taking its name as his own
And thinking about Cú Chulainn’s supernatural affinity with animals
And thinking about Niall and the spear and not wanting to be the spear
And looking at this dream dog and wanting to be more than all of that, with the wolfhound at his side and with minimal blood shed
(And maybe naming her Scáthach, meaning ‘She Who Walks in Shadow’, after the fearsome battle trainer and seer who trained Cú Chulainn in war-craft because that’s exactly the kind of edgy and badass that would appeal to him and also because he’d delight in mocking the gangsey for their horrific attempts at pronouncing it)
(She could be Scá for short - Skaw isn’t as tricky for them to get the hang of and there’s something about Chainsaw and Scá as a pairing that works)
(And on occasion Cú Scioból/Cú Cabeswater/etc.)
