Seeing some takes here is truly wild.

Logan is not the same as Nicky was. Nicky started late in Carting, came from a rich family and has never really been rated very highly throughout most of his younger career. I adored Nicky but he was never a high rated driver and most of us were aware of that.

Logan meanwhile has been fighting against drivers like Oscar for his entire career. He didn't even have enough money for his junior career at one point. He was promoted to early which his own team principal said and then had the disadvantage of poor strategies as well as sitting out a race weekend and having to drive an older possibly damaged chassis. He was not given a fair chance.

Also saying he is just as bad as Giovinazzi is kind of funny considering Gio had some good qualy and race performances, went on to drive in FE and most importantly won Le Mans, doing quiet okay in WEC right now.

Nyck De Vries is a Formula E world champion and has been also doing quiet well in WEC this year, scoring a podium at Le Mans.

Using drivers that didn't do well in F1 as some form of gotcha moment is just simply not a good take. F1 is not the pinnacle of motorsport and a driver struggling in an already low rated midfield team is simply to be expected especially when they have been used to a different form of racing like Nyck was.

I will never call a driver bad simply because they didn't succeed in F1. F1 is not the end of a motorsport career nor is it the realistic goal to be aiming for sadly nowadays. F1 is not some sort of measurement for a quality of drivers. Many good drivers will never make it to F1 due to money or they failed because they had a horrible car etc.

F1 is not the end of the motorsport experience. There are so many ways to succeed, to make your name in the history books.

What I am trying to say at the end of all this is:

Logan is not the same as Nicky, Giovinazzi or Nyck.

Logan was never fully given a chance to succeed in F1 while most of them were. (Nyck being an exception.)

Logan not doing well in F1 doesn't make him a bad driver.

It sucks to see your dream destroyed like this but Logan is a young promising driver still.

He has his whole career infront of him.

And while it might not pan out the way he wanted it to, at least in another series at another team he will actually have the chance to fight for points and possibly even podiums.

I really think the Williams team hasn't realized how much of their treatment towards Logan has lost them a lot of good will among fans. Like take his lap of legends, so much work went in to that, (from Logan, Williams Alumni, and the team behind it), was such a big opportunity, and really could have had generated some much needed good pr for the team and Logan, especially with the team and their treatment of Logan. Yet they allowed it to be overshadowed by the Alex announcement, like really you couldn't have waited at least a few days?

The moment Logan leaves I can see a lot of fans, just not interacting with Williams content anymore. As much as we talk about Alex and James Vowles being the ones who are restructuring/rebuilding Williams you can't forget Logan has also been a major face of that movement. All of their new era content, like their podcasts and interviews, Logan has played a major part in and I think a lot of fans will have a bad taste in their mouth watching once he leaves on such bad terms. Because realistically Logan has the perfect personality for that type of content and it will be nearly impossible to replace him there, its why he and Alex work together so well, they can match the energy and tangents.

Then you have to take into account of them Americans and drive to survive people. They get a lot of hate for either liking the sport at all or how they get into it. Logan is their driver, if you look at social media beyond Instagram comments you will find so much support for him. It is one thing to drop Logan as a driver because he's under-preforming (though I have thoughts about That to) but to go from saying you are going to do everything to help logan to publicly flirting with new drivers? Thats just rude. And now Williams are shutting themselves off from these markets/fan bases. I'm sorry but realistically Logan is leaving F1 and Americans will no longer have a home driver to root for and they will blame Williams for that so people will not stick around.

TLDR; Williams by dicks have shot themselves in the foot next year publicity wise

Above all else, the lack of respect for the person who is under your care is insane. James Vowles has had a lot of questionable interview lately, but to again publicly talk about how much you want a different driver than the one you have? To name drop him? I hope Logan is a terror. I hope he scores points this season, and I hope he gets a seat far away from someone who is so good at pretending to care to your face then turn around and be something else.

At least the other team principals don't try and pretend anymore.

I feel like Williams purposely ruins Logans race specially when he does well/ qualifies well. Like in the sprint, Logan could have done so much more but they are so obsessed with proving themselves right in treating Logan badly and choosing to prioritize Alex

no because if i speak... i haven't thought that before but after australia there's like this little seed in my brain that occasionally decided to want to start growing about this . and on one end i understand it because !! alex is the more experienced driver !!! of course they're going to have more faith in him getting points . but at the same time it's completely taken away any faith for logan , and it's so awful because you can tell he's trying so so hard . but he keeps getting put down by his own fucking team and it makes me so insanely upset .

and like with the upgrades--they weren't working , so now what ? are they gonna figure out a way to make them work , so that logan has the same car as alex ? or is he going to be driving a shitbox for the entire season now ?? and why in gods name are they not talking about the upgrade situation KNOWING how people are attacking logan ?? these are just questions you start asking yourself when you see what's going on . and i hate having to ask myself these questions because it's insane to have to think that . but unfortunately that becomes the mindset when you see what's going on :')
