This movie tries to teach kids to accept yourself (not bad at all pls don't get me wrong) and all the quite questionable rest, but doesn't get to stop and listen to the other's side of the story? Well, sincerely it all happened half 'too fast' and slow...
About Ox, I'm questioning his humanity... ok, not that big of a deal, but honestly I thought he would be shocked and then beg at Lou to have a talk (when he hears his confession) or at least try to calm him down, being himself a Dad-like character, if nothing works... then screw the other one because he had the chance to freaking stop and at least listen.
Honestly I really get Lou's anger (and more) issues, and I use to think the other dolls should've done more things than just stand there and do nothing, I mean: this mothersewing doll is only one compared to the... let's say millions of dolls who could easily restrain him or help Ox somehow.
But no, the one who gets angrier loses, I guess that's quite the message... or not? I mean... yes, it's his right to get angry and feel that bad by a thing he knows he can't fix no matter how long it passes, it's not his fault to be a prototype in a world he's forced to live forever, but... even though I'm currently living with my sympathy towards this doll fellow, sadly it doesn't take away the fact he hurt innocent dolls both emotionally and physically (if we consider the fact of pushing dolls into dangerous places)... or idk, this guy really makes some people be stuck between a rock and a hard place :'D
Lou really needs to get therapy... in jail.

I've been thinking about the whole "Lou is the main villain" of the story, and I have been stuck on the fact that if I were in his shoes, I would have done the same thing. Like, there's a possibility that Lou has been trapped in the institute for probably more than decades. I assume that the doll type number 12 market has been going at it for many years now. So Lou would have been teaching and watching over the dolls for so long. I'm surprised he hasn't gone insane yet.
Lou had to suck it up for the dolls, telling them everything they needed to know and do so they could achieve the dream that he couldn't. Lou gave his trust to those who he thought would stay or think of him as worthy to stay for. But no.
"You, a reject, were gonna leave me, just like the others."
He stated it so personally I had to pause the movie and think. Like God damn that hit hard
It was probably drilled in his brain during his creation that he was supposed to be the perfect doll that EVERYONE wants or every kid needs. But just as a representation. Not meant for public consumption. And when Ox and the uglies come along, and he knows they are rejects, so he does get salty about it.
He was told that rejects can't go to the big world, but in reality, they can. And Lou was not having it. Imagine praying for miracles while leading dolls to the Big World your whole life, just for dolls who are not supposed to exist, achieve it before you ever will. I would get mad too tbh-😭 but opinions are opinions and I have my own!
I was reading Lou's villain wiki and it really did label the scene where he tried to break the portal, "Lou's breakdown scene".
I can imagine him being finnaly done with hiding it, and it all breaks lose to the point he has no control of what he's doing and is just wanting other dolls to feel what he has felt for years without end. He would rage and scream in anger about how unfair it would be for him.
If someone were to say that they want to leave, to the person WHO CANNOT LEAVE AT ALL... and that they want to run the gauntlet because there's nothing worthy to stay for, because every doll's main destination is to the Big World....I would throw that bitch into the washing machine.
