Melody Tinker - Tumblr Posts

I love the Tinkers. I really, really do. They are absolutely insane, but I love them. This round was just as wacky and wild as I hoped it would be. Stephen and Wanda seem determined to reach that 10 kids goal as fast as possible. For a bit of behind-the-scenes info and some fun pictures, check out what’s hiding below the cut!

There was no cheesecake this round, because there isn’t any down at the Jacquets’ bakery. I actually sent Stephen down there before I remembered that. I think Melody ate the last piece from the first cheesecake before her parents could get to it. (Whether that was intentional on her part or not is up for debate.) Because of this (and the “cheesecake can only be purchased, not baked at home” rule), Stephen and Wanda are expecting one baby each, instead of two sets of twins. I am relieved. There is a reason I never put the Triplets and Quads mod into my game. I’m not about to inflict pseudo-quads on myself, even if this is a Ten Kids challenge.

Stephen’s pregnancy was not planned, but I was quite pleased when it happened. He had just barely started using the telescope too. I admit, I cackled evilly when the cinematic started. I can hardly wait for the green baby!

Cadence’s favorite thing to do as a toddler was to play in the toilet. I blame both the fact that I forgot her toddler birthday and that she never fully learned to use the potty by herself. (She learned the other skills though, and it wasn’t for lack of trying...)

Melody went out with her teen friends on a few outings, only one of which was documented, and none of which made it into the queue. They didn’t do anything particularly interesting. Melody had a bit of a crush on her guy friend (whose name escapes me at the moment) but she never rolled a want for a first kiss or anything to do with him, so they never made things official. They held hands in the Gorilla Burger and made their other friend really uncomfortable, though!

And finally, this is the loading screen that will come up next time we go to the Tinkers’ house. In the meantime, though, let’s go to a house that is slightly less chaotic.
I’ll meet you at the Ramirez house, where hopefully Tessa can make friends with Cadence before aging up to teen. See you there!

Hooray! It’s finally time to send Melody Tinker to college. She’s escaping her house full of baby siblings and pregnant parents and striking out on her own.
I have to admit, I haven’t gotten a really good handle on Melody this time around. I mean, I know she likes her MP3 player. I know she likes reading. I know she actually was a good big sister this time around, whereas last time she really didn’t care too much for her younger siblings. But as for what she really wants out of life, what her personality is like? I don’t really know.
Luckily, that’s what university is all about - figuring out who you really are and what you want to do with your life.
In case you don’t remember (because I only mentioned it once, I think, and it was a while ago), the teens from Bluewater are going to attend Bright Lake University. I was going to play with the SSU premades, but decided against it before the start of this round. I did make all of them into dormies, so they’ll be showing up. In addition, Frances J. Worthington III is a dormie, since his family moved in Downtown during the Kim round. We might see him around too.
Anyways, that’s enough blabbering from me. Let’s get Melody into college!

Melody: *looking down at her outfit* Whoa! This dress is awesome! I look awesome!
Stephen: *tearing up* My little girl...*grabs and hugs her tight*
Melody: Dad...Aw, Dad, come on. Dad, not so tight!
Stephen: I’m just going to miss you!
Melody: *relaxes and hugs back* I’ll miss you too, Daddy. I promise I’ll call you guys a ton and tell you all about what I’m doing. And you need to call me when the new babies are born, okay? I’ll come home and see them right away.
Stephen: I don’t know what we’ll do without you around the house...

*taxi honks off screen*
Stephen: *reluctantly lets go of Melody* I’d better get going. You go and do great things, okay?
Melody: You know I will. *kisses his cheek* I love you, Daddy. I’ll call home and let you know about my first day tonight, okay?

Melody may be in college, but she still loves listening to her music.

Melody decided to save her fancy dress for formal wear, but she’s sticking with the red theme. She is gorgeous!
Of course, being a Knowledge sim, Melody rolled a bunch of school-related wants immediately, so she got started on her term paper immediately.

I stopped Melody writing her paper when the dormies started arriving. Because I made all the premade SSU students into dormies, we’ve got Castor Nova, Tiffany Sampson, Brittany Upsnott, Martin Ruben, Jane Stacks, Heather Huffington, and Allegra Gorey as dormmates. This should be interesting! Yay!
