ITS DA SPOOPY MONTH!!!!! :D
I just downloaded Procreate Dreams so I’ve decided that I’m going to try and remake this animatic into the app :)
(I’m going to be fixing the falling and adding text to the new one I’m just lazy right now lol)
Also ignore the bad animation I’m still trying to figure out the blasted app lol
Random thought since I was thinking of drag names but you cannot tell me that all of the mentopolis characters do not have perfect names for drag kings, queens, etc.
The Fix taking over Madam Loathing’s is the best resolution to any story ever
(partner and I have just finished watching episode 1 of Mentopolis)
them: "It's so stupid."
me: "What?"
them: "It's so fucking stupid."
me: "Hmmmm??"
them: "They're in a mindscape. It's a noir setting. There's prohibition."
me: "Yeah?"
them: "...It's the Great Depression."
me: "........MULLIGANNNN!!!!"
(guy whos scared of everything and feels guilty about everything) sorry i got scared and felt guilty
Poll: interest check
not to be that person but please reblog for reach
if this already exists gell me (tho I feel like having 2 would be fun as well)
Basically I've been thinking about a event, either a week or a month (haven't decided which yet) where we have a list of promps for people to make more content about underrated d20 stuff
Underrated is subjective, but it woukd basically be around season you think don't get enough attention/ people just don't talk about enough OR it can be for a character from a season that IS popular but the specific character is underrated
It all basically to encourage people to make content (either fanart, fanfics, edits, etc) for seasons that don't have that active of a fan base rn
Idk of the prompts would be of spefic shows/charcaters or they woukd be vague prompts and people can make whatever they want based off their favorite underrated thing, we can figure that out after I know if people would like this
also this season is SUCH a good use of kids on bikes like taking the powered character mechanic and scaling it to be the premise is kind of brilliant??
I’ve how everyone’s names really show us what we’re getting:
Hunch Curio, I’m expecting someone to say “Curio’s City” at least once
The Fix, “the system that allows for hyperfixation” as described by Hank
Imelda Pulse, or Im Pulse (impulse)
Anastasia Tension, or A. Tension (attention)
Conrad Shintz, or Con Shintz (conscience)
And then there DANIEL FUCKS. I WONDER WHAT HE DOES.
the prefrontal P.I.'s are getting along great so far. best friends forever
sometimes a family is a little boy, his dog, his big scary murderer father, his gay uncles and his crazy old money aunts
Say Hi, Prefrontal PIs!
A tribute to the Dimension 20's latest season, "Mentopolis"! I really loved the shenanigans and surprising heart in this brainy mystery - and the tropes! Tropes!

The PCs are piled into a 1920s top-down automobile driven by Conrad. Justin and Hunch ride shotgun, the latter holding on to his hat. Dan lounges in the backseat next to a note-taking Anastasia. Imelda is stood up keeping her and Anastasia's hats from flying off. The Fix sits precariously on the back of the car, hat in hand.

This season is about depression. But WHY is The Big Guy depressed?
Let's take a look at the clues Mr. Brennan "Anti-Capitalist" Mulligan has laid out for us 🔍
The Big Guy aka Elias Hodge, works for a "retro-futurist conglomerate" as a "mento-technological" researcher
There's a Prohibition on oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin -- citizens are only allowed cortisol & adrenaline (hormones that're released when someone is under a lot of stress)
This Prohibition will (allegedly) be lifted once Elias receives recognition from his bosses
All Elias's pleasures and non-work related urges have been driven underground to the red light district -- so he's not allowing himself to focus on anything that isn't work
The Fix is basically a hitman working for the District Attorney, Mark Bition (Ambition) to eliminate any urge that has the potential to distract Elias from his work
More on the above point: District Attorneys are prosecuters, ie, are the ones responsible for punishing those who go against the state. So this further emphasizes that Elias is very strictly policing himself in order to succeed at work
Conrad Schintz (Conscience) is a tiny kid who has trouble making himself heard and doesn't have a lot of power
Speaking of kids -- all of Elias's childhood interests have also been driven underground, this time being kept under the care of Ms. Loathing. This, plus the line about "not deserving pleasure", hints that Elias is potentially struggling with self-loathing as well (also Loathing's line about "focusing on me is not going to do anything but make me stronger")
CONCLUSION:
All this paints a picture of someone who is driven by logic and ambition, to the detriment of his emotional well-being. Elias seems to feel that his only value comes from what he is able to produce for his superiors, and this causes him to suppress any part of himself that doesn't make him a more productive worker. This has led to him becoming extremely isolated and lonely as a result
We can also guess that the work Elias is doing doesn't align with his values, and that he needs to keep his conscience as quiet as possible in order to do it. Even worse, we now see that he's thinking about killing his conscience outright
This season is about the psychological toll being a cog in the machine takes on a person, and I cannot WAIT to see where we go next
...that's right ma'am, it's – it's a containment breach all right, he has breached containment, that we can safely say – but not in any kinda way we've seen before ... no ma'am, there is no established protocol—
(Capture by Barry Nyne on the Dropout discord)
With the new season of Dimension 20, that marks two worlds that Brennan created that might just be an excuse for him to make puns for ~40 hours
I like how Metopolis is only like 3 episodes so far, and Hank Green as The Fix has already been making end of season emotional speeches since like episode 2
Isn't it so fitting that The Fix from Mentopolis has become my new hyperfixation, especially when he's with Pasha N
Them. Just all of them <333
That was a good season. Ending it with some delightful ships.
Mentopolis hits my deep need for TROPES!
