I hate the fact that I was so ready to go into navy cadets and seriously consider a military path, preferably navy diver, then seeing one post about anit-millitary people and just fucking breaking

i know that soldiers kill people

i know that they cause destruction

but do you know what would happen if the stopped defending us?

do you know what would've happened if we didn't have an army back in WW1 and WW2

life is shit

people are shit

there are also plenty of people in the military who have never killed anyone

working in humanitarian aid, office jobs, psychologists and doctors and cooks, even musicians

before hating on someone for doing their job and protecting thier country no matter what, do some fucking research

ik there are shitty soldiers

*cough cough* russia *cough cough*

but that doesn't mean there arent good soldiers too, people who joined the military to protect, to serve, to have a purpose

i dont want to join the military because of cod, sure i like the game, but i want to join the military because i want to serve and protect

i want to be like that lovely small arms and seamanship specialist i talked to a few times

i want to be like that strict but soft woman in the airforce who advocates for indigenous health and inclusion

i want to be like that goofy and loveable humanitarian aid soldier who helped people during floods

i want to be known as the small navy diver with a big heart

who never gave up

who never left anyone behind

who challenged beliefs

who inspired others

like they inspired me

Made my OC in Sims4 !! Ignore the fact that she’s only in casual clothes as Sims4 doesn’t have army uniform. Her name is Julia Roberts, her call sign is ‘Hawk’ she is a specialist sniper and is good in battle felid intelligence and she used to work with K9s for a hot min!!

Also she would have a longer scar on her eye (it should go down to her neck) and she’d look more stern or grumpy.

Now I just need to learn to draw or I need someone to draw her for me! Let me know if you want to hear some stories about her/ back story

The moon landing was fake: Loves old movies, want to do research, drinks way too much coffee, makes collages, stays up all night, chocolate, fairy-lights, wears converse and denim jackets, drinks boba tea, vintage posters.

College is not free so that people will enlist in the military: Is a nerd, know-it-all, only talks when they have something to say,  thinks capitalism will be humanity’s downfall, just wants to take a nap, hopes memes will numb the pain, is probably right tbh.

Aliens build the pyramids: Thinks humans are lazy, loves space and history, wants to travel, stargazing, likes exodic foods, astronomy, wanted to go to the area 51 raid, takes aesthetically pleasing pictures of buildings, is an early bird.

Illuminati controls the world: Wants to be part of a friends group, is stubborn, wants to take down the government, covers their computer camera, wears leather jackets and sunglasses,  enjoys videogames,  buys pizza once a week.

The Lock Ness monster is real: Loves animals more than people, love mist, wants to go to the zoo, reads about dinosaurs, waterparks, likes walks in the evening, pets are the only friends you need, owns a million plants, loves rain. 

I have the desperate urge to be a buff gay man in the military who makes out with a rookie in the back hall after a mission briefing knowing he probably won't make it back alive.
