Random thought: AURORA would make an awesome Míriel

Vaire- maiden mother and crone. Vaire herself resembles an unnatural walking shadow with a tendency to ‘glitch’ and contort into horrific shapes. Any clothing she wears rapidly ages and has to be replaced within the week. To attempt to reassure the eldar to her presence she often copies faces she has seen in her husband’s halls so they feel more at ease with her. Feanor takes issue with this practice in particular because while she sees wearing Miriel Þerinde’s face as a compliment to a dear friend, Feanor sees it as a mockery and a grave insult.

Thank you so much! My personal headcanon for Miriel is that she was the one to invent needles and spinning wheels and looms, and was for all intent and purpose the inventor of textiles in Cuivienen. She didn’t have much time for her craft in Valinor as Finwe’s wife and that, along with putting too much of her spirit into Feanor, contributed to her decision to stay in Vaire’s hall and weave forever. I also like the idea that when Feanor dies she takes him into Vaire’s halls and teaches him how to weave like she always wanted to do in life

I think Miriel must feel guilty about her entire line; an excuse to draw crying characters.

I finished up Míriel’s portrait just now ^^ her outfit is based on that of A Portrait of a Lady by Pieter De Kempeneer from around the mid 1500s. First portrait of the Flemish historical fashion series is done!!
