Author’s note: it’s my first time writing changkun’s one shot, yes, he finally made me write because the amount of changkyun I’m consuming every day is insane, really. And I can’t believe I wrote his fluff, I was wondering how did it turn out, hope anyone reading this would like it, happy reading:)

We were sitting on my bed; I was sitting on the corner of my bed and he was in the middle of the bed. I was holding his hand and he was holding mine with a tight grip. He was holding me tight probably because he’s scared, I will fall off from the bed since I was literally on the corner of my bed. I was trying to click his picture from there in my phone. Once I clicked and he heard the sound; he pulled me towards him, making me shove the phone on his face. The way he pulled me, it caught me off guard, I am somehow glad he couldn’t hear my heart beat, which was beating like crazy. The proximity kills me at times, because my heart doesn’t know how to stop reacting from this close proximity. I looked at him, retracting from the position which we were in earlier, he was still holding my hand, “you look so freaking good and handsome even though you’re 4 years older than me hump!” I meant it, he looked so good like so fine in bare face. Sometimes I look at him and think, how is he even older than me? he is just so good looking, I feel like I don’t appreciate him enough.

I couldn’t believe what he asked me, “you don’t believe me?” his words were telling my mind a thing and my heart other thing, how badly I wanted to believe him and wanted to escape right now, I couldn’t face him, “you should’ve known by this time… because I… love.. it… when… you….” he trailed off, our cheeks touched, I could feel him turning his face and his lips were just few centimeters away from my cheeks, to have a contact.

I would die for this, my heart was beating so fast, having a crush on him, was so dangerous. As if he just doesn’t kill me with his voice and his dimples. I felt a slight brush of his lips on my cheeks and I heard my mum’s voice. I got a chance to escape because if I stayed here a single second more with him my heart would go crazy and I wouldn’t have any control over myself and I would end up kissing him even before he says anything to me.

“Yah, mum came let me go I'm hungry” and I pushed him, went away. I left him on my bed, I wanted to run away but I couldn’t because mom might see me like this, all red and might ask. No one knows about my crush and the deep feelings I’m having for Changkyun. I went out of my room as normally as I could. He was coming after me, I went to kitchen and he followed me. “Mum” she looked at me and then she spotted him.

“Ah, Changkyun is here as well? Did you bring her home?” we were out for a small gathering with friends and he took me because he said he wanted me to come, and since I was bored at home, I accompanied him also because he came back home after a long time and I wanted to see him.

“Yes, I brought her back home, she was bored there” I shot him a look, it was him who looked bored so I told him, let’s go back home and he suggested he would stay with me, until my mum comes back home.

I hit him on his arm, “YAH”

“WHAT?” he eyed me, “go back to her room, I’ll bring fruits for you guys and Changkyun you came home after a long time, don’t you miss me or her?” my eyes widen the moment my mum mentioned me, why would she say that, “MUM when did I-

“I missed you, and I missed her a little more this time and it’s been a long time since I last visited.” he should stop saying stuffs like this because my heart can’t take more.

“We are going back to my room mum” and I walked towards my room, the moment we entered our room, he closed the door behind me, and held my hand, I didn’t look back at him, not yet.

He pulled me in his embrace, he hugged me from back, and slowly my mind understood what was he doing, he was back hugging me, his arms around my waist, holding me with delicacy. My breathing stopped; I couldn’t react.

“Stop here for a minute” I nodded, without knowing what to do next, I turned to look at him after few seconds passed. His eyes looked at mine, way too intensely, I was lost in his eyes, “I didn’t lie when I said I missed you a little more this time” his hands trailed up to hold my cheeks, his fingers were caressing my cheeks, “really” his eyes softened, “I missed you, what about you, didn’t you miss me?”

He was looking at me, his hands were resting on my cheeks, they were holding me, his touch was so soft, I forgot to speak and breath. I took a deep breath and told me, what I wanted to tell him, “I missed you, more than you could miss me, I wanted to hear your voice, I wanted to see you infront of me, just me, I wanted you to come back home and see me, even if it meant for a second, I just wanted to…” I was startled by his sudden move, he turned me, and my back touched the wall of my room, I was about to continue, and he kissed me again, this kiss was different, from the earlier, one. This was more like he was claiming me, the way he told me he would claim me. He stopped kissing me and said “you’ve no idea how much you drive me insane.” He was holding my chin.

“I didn’t lie when I said I wanted you as mine, because I want you to be just mine and waited to know you more, so here I am.” I was so taken aback from his sudden confession; my mind went blank when he kissed me again.

I heard a knock and I was sure it was Minhyuk, I knew Changkyun won’t come until he’s done with class and I call him here. So, I went to open the door.

“Am I late?” I smiled as soon I saw Minhyuk, “No, you’re not” he gave me a quick hug lifting the cake box so that it doesn’t get ruined or anything. “Hope you’re doing okay” he whispered to me and I nodded, “a little nervous I guess?”

He went outside, and I kept the cake on the table, and then we completed the decorations and the happy birthday balloons were set perfectly. I heard the door open and close again, I turned to look at Minhyuk, he was holding a bouquet full of red roses, I was surprised.

He leaned towards my ears and said, “give it to him later. He’ll be happy.” this whole thing went unnoticed by everyone, “a bouquet?” I turned to look at Mimosa, “yes, I brought it just now. It’s his birthday afterall, he would be so happy and here, me and Hazel are the seniors so, I guess getting a bouquet on his birthday would make him feel nice and happy”

“Yes, it is. Why didn’t you comeback? And is your work done?”

“He is coming guys, switch off the lights and pull the curtain to make the room dark!!” everyone started doing it, Minhyuk came near me and said, “I’m keeping this bouquet at the back so that only you can give it to me and you look perfect today so don’t be nervous.” I nodded at his words and he went to keep the bouquet hidden at the back. After he came back to me, he side hugged me and kissed my hair, “you can do this”

“No need to say please, I’m coming.”

“Okay” And I hung up

We heard the door open, “Hazel? are you there? And why is this room so dark?”

“Hazel?” he called my name once again, I know everyone was probably smiling and trying to hold back their laughter. He switched on the lights and we all shouted in unison, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHANGKYUN”

He looked surprised, and the look he had on his face was so precious, like no one could give me the peace and happiness I got when I saw his priceless reaction. I love him so much.

“Oh god, what is this? And thank you so much.” We walked towards him and everyone gave him hugs and wished him one by one.

I was left, I didn’t hug him but I did wish him. I could say he was expecting me to go and hug him but I didn’t. I didn’t want to ruin the main event which I decided for him.

After wishing, we took him to the table so that he could blow the candles and cut the cake, he looked happy. After setting the candles, I lit them up.

“Make a wish” he closed his eyes for a second, then he looked at me before blowing the candles.

After cake cutting, everyone had fun, and he got gifts. Everything went like the way a surprise birthday should go like.

“You know it was Hazel’s idea, this whole planning, we just helped.” I looked at Mimosa for exposing me. I saw Minhyuk, going to the back and brining the bouquet, and none of them noticed him, keeping it on the other side of the table.

“You all helped me, don’t give me the credit like that” I was embarrassed because he was staring at me, watching each move and movement. “Okay, guys, wanted to tell you that Andrea Ma’am called four of us because of our thesis so let’s go” Minyuk grabbed everyone and winked at me.

“But Hazel-”

“Sometimes I really don’t like the fact that we need to take tutorial classes and do thesis as Ph.D students and we need to clean at least half of this place” Lau looked at me, “don’t worry I’ll do it”

“We will join you once we are done with Andrea ma’am okay?” Minhyuk gave me a look, he knows how to handle these situations so well.

It was just me and him inside the room, standing infront of eachother.

“Okay”

“Now let’s go or we will be late” Minhyuk dragged everyone out of the room and closed the door.

“Happy Birthday” I finally looked at him and said. I felt better. I was about to and bring the bouquet to give it to me, but he walked towards me and trapped me, in between his arms. His hands were reasting on the table and my heartbeat went crazy, the closeness between us was slowly making me nervous.

“No gifts for me, no hugs for me?” his voice was deeper than usual and I was losing my mind over him again. I tried pushing him back; so that I could focus on what I want to do and breath normally, he took a step back, and I went towards the other side of the table where Minhyuk kept the bouquet. I picked it up and looked back at him, the table was the only thing keeping us apart.

“I’m disappointed…”

“Huh?”

“Yes” and gave him the bouquet. He looked confused, “Yes?”

I took a deep breath, I knew how tough it was to admit it infront of a boy whom I like, whom I want to be my first in everything. “The answer is yes” he looked amazed, I could tell it from his look. I gave him the answer of his confession he made a week ago, I wanted to give him a birthday gift.

He walked towards me and lifted me up, holding my waist, “Tell me you’re serious” I smiled at him, “It’s a yes Changkyun. I want you to be my first. I am saying yes to you. I want you to be mine”

He let me down on the floor, “And this your birthday gift” I kissed him on his cheeks quickly.

He accepted the bouquet from me, and pulled me by my waist, “you’ve no idea how much I waited for you everyday and every second.” I put my arms around his neck, “same” he smiled at me.

“You’re amazing and thankyou for giving me the best gift on my birthday” he smiled, he should know his smiles do something to me and I forget to breath. He leaned towards me slowly, “can I?” he was looking at me with the eyes full of love.

I didn’t give an answer but kissed him instead. He pulled me closer and kissed me back. After few seconds, he said, “I fell in love with you the moment I saw you.” in between kisses and kissed me again.

“I want to fall deeper in your love Changkyun” he pulled apart and kissed me on my forehead.

someone had paris, milano, and all at once, but all they had was a backseat in his car. meetings when no one saw, because it felt wrong. vague feelings, because… because it was difficult.

and their first time in paris should have been different: they would have walked under the starry sky, through the dimly lit streets of the city and visit the eiffel tower － do all that cliché stuff. it literally had to be sprinkles, made of gold, pestered on top of her favorite ice cream.

but five years later, the gold has completely melted it seems.

the last joint events, still a family － still a husband and wife who are engaged in family business, － smiling at all those fake people, even though they are so alike now.

"it looks like they like us more than we do"

the room was dark and the only illumination was the moonlight pouring through the window. they sat in silence for a long time, hana pretendin to enjoy the view, and changkyun starring at the ceiling, glass by glass they drank a bottle of whiskey to the bottom. the first meeting with foreign investors was probably successful, hana did not pay much attention anyway, knowing that soon this business could be taken away from her or she would leave it willingly.

does it look like those years have gone for nothing?

definitely, there were ups and downs, happiness and grief, but hana did not expect such a collapse. and it's not that she was very emotional about it, just that there were no tears left to cry. after all, what's the point of them? tears won't bring back the time she spent, won't change their relationship.

everything was decided that evening - divorce and no other options offered. and then, washing down her despair with the redness of wine, she told changkyun something she hadn't dared to for a long time.

"and yet, i loved it so much when you lied and then said you loved me. you've been spinning my head with this shit for so long, dear," hana came closer so that her voice could be heard, "that i stopped attaching importance to it,"

a bitter smile plastered on his lips, because changkyun understood the current situation better than ever. and five years with hana would end like this because of their mistakes.

"i'm going to bed, guess i had enough of your company today"

hana headed out of the shared hall to her door, but her husband didn't seem to notice her words, maybe he just ignored her, now he doesn't have to answer her.

"once you liked it"

the voice was a little hoarse due to the long silence, but still loud enough for hana to hear. sighing, she turned to look at him and was surprised that changkyun was staring at her back.

"once, we were generally happy with what we had, kyun, but as you can see, it's not the same now."

opening the door to the room, hana slipped inside in order to avoid this awkward silence.

"mrs. im, is there anything you want to add?" "mrs. im, do you like everything?" "would you like to change something here?'

their wedding was a complete mess. there are too many things to do, too little time and they are too much in love.

of course, hana and changkyun were nervous while preparing for the wedding, but still their feelings helped to cope with all the hardships. after a hectic day they could have dinner and fall on the bed exhausted, changkyun would kiss her temple, she would rub his cheek lovingly in response and they would just fall asleep in each other's arms.

and when both of them said "yes" on the wedding, it seems hana felt relieved since for awhile, she noticed how changkyun's shoulders straightened a little and he smiled at her. leaning closer, as it was commanded, he had kissed his wife, and hana believed that at that very moment she was the luckiest girl in the whole world, then they broke off and said "i love you" laughing.

they were so happy back then.

and now hana was in bed, room filled with her sobs and screams from nightmare's hold.

she didn't want to let him go, afraid that if she does, he would fall and it would be over. she begged changkyun to hold onto her hand and never let go, but his fingers treacherously slipped out of her grip and she screamed and asked to hold on tighter...

"hana, hana come on, hey, open your eyes..."

a low voice woke her insistently and when hana opened her eyes, she felt tears running down her cheeks and girl clenched sheets in fists tightly.

changkyun was sitting sleepily on the edge of her bed, a little worried, but still distant.

sitting, hana reached out for the glass of water, but it wasn't there, and her throat was absolutely dry. then changkyun handed her one, after taking a few sips, she whispered "thanks" and the guy was about to leave, getting out of bed.

she still remembered her nightmare, how she let go of his hand and lost it, and the girl herself did not understand that she actually grabbed his hand, changkyun's eyes widened with shock, so girl immediately removed her palm, apologizing.

wiping the tears from her cheeks, hana looked at him, the guy stood rubbing his wrist and awkwardly looking at the sheets.

"stay, please?"

he nodded in response, sitting down on the other side of her, after all, they were still husband and wife and shared the same bed for so long, that now it seemed absurd.

the girl laid back down, turning her back to him and suffocating silence really made the situation only worse.

"when it's all over… will you do the shit like french exit?"

he was quite for some time, looking at his hands, and hana realized that he was probably glaring at an engagement ring, yet both wore it.

"do you really think this is how we should end? because i don't see the point in it."

changkyun was right to some extent, hana was also thinking about what would happen if everything was left as it is.

"what if we try again, hana? it's not the first day we've been together, the fact that we've drifted apart can be fixed. we can go on a vacation, stay alone and just make things work again."

she didn't answer, biting her lip, because that's clearly not all he wanted to say. brushing black hair from his eyes, the guy looked at her and something in his gaze has changed.

"because i don't want to lose what we have." continued he instantly. "i like to wake up with my wife besides me, spend the weekend with her. and look where we are, in a damn paris, which you wanted to see. we could do whatever we want together, but why are we keep on ruining everything?"

their faces were very close to each other now, hana ran her fingers along his face and watched as he closed his eyes and clung to her palm. she moved a little closer and touched his lips, changkyun put his hand on top of her, stroking the soft skin.

"let's try again," he whispered.

"just don't leave again," she said in response, kissing him once more.
