been seeing this tag on ao3 called âmutually unrequitedâ and i dont mean to nitpick but likeâŚ.thats notâŚ..what it meansâŚâŚâŚâŚ..
Couldn't fit all the comedies in the 12 options, so made separate polls for Problem Plays and Late Romances.
(Also: Shakespeare poll tag, for all the different genres.)
Donât give me one-sided unrequited love, give me two-sided unwanted love. Both sides are deeply in love with the other and both sides are like âfuck, really?? them??? really?â

robert sean leonard is the most slept on 90s heartthrob scream if u agree

Iâve started a series where I wanted to do modernized!Shakespeare. I donât think its finished but these are some of my favorite characters so far. A few things:
The men in Midsummer Nightâs Dream are so awful.. @willy shakes set the women free pleaseâŚ. set them free. also let the ladies date
[looks at my half-dozen drawing of Benvolio/Mercutio vs. my single drawing for Romeo/Juliet] What do you mean Bencutio isnât the main couple in R&J?
#LetBenvolioSayFuck2k17
I kept the soccer thing for Viola & Duke⌠Sheâs the Man is flawed but itâs also my childhood just let me keep the soccer thing
I demand more genderqueer Viola
Shoutout to anyone who picks up on Hippolytaâs outfit i know its rly obvious but just. shoutout
Hero deserves so much better than Claudio. Hence, the obvious HamiltonâŚ. In fact thereâs a lot of designs clearly inspired by certain actorsâŚ..
One old Mercutio designs is inspired by @crystallizedtwilight which im like 90% sure their design is also inspired by certain R&J productionâs character design but anyways credit to them
anyone who told you much ado about nothing is good and worth watching was RIGHT and you should listen to them
i am once again asking you to watch the 2019 shakespeare in the park production of much ado about nothing

iâm obsessed with benedick and beatrice and the fact that he trusts her. claudio refuses to believe that hero is innocent no matter what she says. no one believes her, even leonato immediately takes claudioâs word, a man who he has known for a few days, over his own daughterâs. and beatrice knows itâs a lie but no one believes her because the word of a woman means nothing. but benedick believes her. he doesnât know hero that well, he has no evidence to prove that she is innocent, but he knows she is because beatrice says so, and he trusts her - more than he trusts even claudio, his âsworn brotherâ. the contrast between claudioâs âproofâ destroying his trust in hero, and benedick trusting beatrice no matter what, even though he has no proof
underrated character type I actually relate to: hopeless romantic who loves to intellectually spar disguised as an unbearable clown

the day I stop thinking about Themâ˘ď¸ is the day I die

Beatrice and Benedick, act IV, scene 1
honestly this is why i love both pride and prejudice and much ado about nothing: the male leads need to fix themselves before the happy ending of Marriage and All That occurs.
I love the absolute 180° Benedick does between his monologue before listening to Don Pedro, Claudio, and Leonato and his monologue after. "Happy are they that hear their detractions and can put them to mending," is the funniest reaction anyone can have to being told that they're not good enough for someone they were saying they would never marry like 5 minutes ago.

She wanted to be courted with mysterious language.

DAVID TENNANT and CATHERINE TATE "Much Ado About Nothing" (2011)

David Tennant, Catherine Tate, and Josie Rourke for Throwback Thursday Promotional Shoot for Much Ado About Nothing
Excerpts from the Telegraph interview with David, Catherine, and Josie by Dominic Cavendish (published May 10th, 2011) [X]
Josie Rourke: I got a call saying, âWould you be interested in doing a production of Much Ado About Nothing with Catherine Tate and David Tennant?â And itâs a dream job, really. Their chemistry is very profound but itâs directed outwards: this has been one of the happiest acting companies Iâve worked with. Itâs also very helpful when youâre conceiving a production knowing some of the casting. If it had been a different Beatrice and Benedick, it would have been a different production. Dominic Cavendish: The phrase âsex warâ does cut to the chase of the play, doesnât it? What makes Benedick so antagonistic, outwardly at least, to the opposite sex, do you think? Â David Tennant: I sense that all that misogyny comes out of self-loathing. Thereâs fear of commitment, fear of emotional attachment and vulnerability. Itâs very recognisable. It strikes me how this play is really the template for every romantic comedy â the couple who canât live with each other, canât live without each other. Â Catherine Tate: We meet them at a time when you get the sense that theyâve been the coolest people in the room, and theyâre getting to an age when theyâre going to get left on the shelf and start looking sad. They both very quickly cave in when they think the other loves them. Â David Tennant: They cave in with enthusiasm!Â
from Michael Coveneyâs article/interview with Josie Rourke in The Independant (May 27, 2011)
âI have never laughed so much in a  rehearsal room. My memory of this will be of wandering into a room and  finding one of them making the other laugh. "They are incredibly quick and intuitive in their response to each other, and that carries over directly into the play. They are such great company, and they set the tone for everyone else, charging us all up with the effervescent quality of their friendship.â
