Ever since you had first moved into the small home, there was one door you could never open. Yes, you had only moved in three months earlier, but that door coated in dried paint from previous owners and no key to allow entry teased you daily. It kept you up at night, filling your mind with paranoid thoughts regarding what was on the other side of that door - just why couldn’t you ever get it open?

The estate agent, as well as the former owners, did not discuss the door at all. You didn’t know why they hadn’t mentioned it, even in passing when you were being shown around the house in the first place. If you were in their position you would have at least joked about the ‘forbidden’ door. It had taken you a week after first moving in to contact the agent and ask if she had forgotten to give you a key for the door.

So recently on my YouTube recommendations, there's been a trend of the "do you think we're ___ in every universe?" Only there's a twist to these ones. With each universe they symbolize how the relationship is toxic. Here's some examples I've seen: A Venus flytrap to a fly, an animal to a bear trap, a plant entangled in a weed, a bird in a cage, a bunny constricted by a snake, etc. Knowing that in each universe, the victim can't escape the grasp of the abuser, fills me with such an extreme melancholy.
