Mythology Art - Tumblr Posts

My attempt at digital art, yay!

Another one of my digital stuff

I actually tryed to use a set colour scheme in this piece and I quite like the “mood” it creates.
This illustration is **very loosley** inspired by the Oresteia, especially the second of the tradgedies, The Libation Bearers, but it´s not depicting any particular scene of the play.

I experimented a bit with the colours by creating a set colour palette in advance (similarly to how you would pre-mix colours in traditional art) and I'm not sure how to feel about the end result. It's certainly.....a lot more....green....than most of my work...
Motive-wise I based this illustration on the mythological figure of Kirke (Or Circe?? Idk how to properly anglicize her name), specifically her appearance in the Odyssey, as referenced by the pig in the background. But it's been a while since I read that particular part of the Odyssey, so there might be a couple inaccuracies to be found.

I am slowly getting dragged back into that weird Greek mythology phase I had between age 7 and 13, not that I mind tho. So here, have this little illustration of Perseus slaying the Gorgon Medusa. I went for a slightly more 'illustrative' style than usual, with 'clean' lineart and cellshading, although I was a tad bit too lazy to shade everything. But it kind of works I guess...

Another painting! (Am I actually starting to develop a consistent artstyle??)
I felt in the mood to create some Greek mythology related stuff again, so I painted this portrait of Selene, goddess/personification of the moon.
Both the colour scheme and the motive are somewhat inspired by Jules Louis Machards artwork depicting Selene.
I aimed for a somewhat 'soft', 'warm' look, so I avoided stark contrasts, especially in the face and kept the clothing relatively plain, as not to distract with any complicated pattern.

I found the time to paint again. As said before, posts may be quite infrequent in the coming months, as school takes precedent over my hobbies and I might not be able to draw/paint as much. Still, I bring you this watercolour/ acrylic painting based on Hypnos, the Greek god/ personification of sleep.
