rating my teachers
(red rates teaching skill, blue is personal opinion)
1st Period - 2/10 6/10
English. He hasn’t spoken to us in about a week and doesn’t really teach a lot - he gives us words to write on the board every day and then just lets everyone on their phone. It’s an stress-less first period, though I feel like we’re not learning much.
2nd Period - 4/10 3/10
Marine Biology. It’s a common opinion I’ve found this teacher is frustrating. She assigns us about 2-4 papers a day, and doesn’t tell us what to turn it, getting mad when we turn in notes. She’s also very unsociable and doesn’t allow kids to leave her class for any reason, including nurse.
3nd Period - 8/10 7/10
Art. She’s very big on individual help and really pushes the kids in the class both with notes and art, which is incredibly useful. She’s blunt and some people do find it rude, but I think it’s very helpful. She balances the amount of artwork/notes we do well.
4th Period - 10/10 8/10
Geometry. I don’t agree with this teachers personal ideals, as his ideologies are rather bigoted (he’s racist on his public video game account he shared with the class), but he’s an AMAZING teacher. I hate math, and I’ve never left that room feeling confused. Makes his own notes and doesn’t call kids dumb for asking questions.
5th Period - 9/10 10/10
Theater. We do a mix of notes and stage work as I’m in the advanced class, and my teacher is great at her job. She’s respected and fun, and never makes class boring whilst also keeping it education - even if we’re just doing note work. And we’re allowed to use the loudspeaker in the room to play any song we want, as long as it’s theater. (I am limited to one Hatchetfield song every two days.)
6th Period - 6/10 1/10
English. She’s not a BAD teacher teaching wise - though she’s incredibly judgmental and very loudly announces students lower level questions. Her main issue is she’s INCREDIBLY rude, to me especially. I wish I could say it was because I did something wrong, but it’s because of personal opinion sadly - another kid decided to randomly tell her I was trans and she became incredibly rude and loud about it.
7th Period - 8/10 8/10
Technical Engineering. Great class, she doesn’t teach us stuff in the traditional sense - preferring we figure out assignments on our own using the open, unrestricted AUTOCAD engine, but she and a handful of assistants are always available for help, and they’re all super non-judgmental of coding skill. They also allow all food in class, and we can talk as long as the volume is low.
