Its obvious to me when people who post about canaries in mines have never met a canary. Like yeah the miners had a special device to revive the canary because canaries are one of the most adorable creatures on the planet and they make adorable little chirping sounds and honestly probably loved the sounds of machinery and people talking so it was probably loud and friendly with the workers. Whatever though maybe meet a canary sometime and youd understand

Some story on how Atsushi and Dazai met and how he got a job as a tattoo artist
Atsushi recently moved to Yokohama after he was just recently kicked out of his previous apartment
He managed to find a decent apartment with what little money he had on at the time
Atsushi was able to earn from just working a lot of part time jobs but only enough to at least have a stable living
During his free time, he would go out to sketch to keep his mind off things
He has quite the talent for arts, being the one thing that he is really good at, but never considered having it as a career
On one of his outings, Atsushi was sketching as usual
Unfortunately he didn't anticipate that it would rain today and forgot his umbrella
When suddenly a tall man covered in bandages offer his own letting himself get partially soaked in order to shield him and his stuff from the water pouring down
Confused yet thankful for the man to offer him his umbrella, before he had the chance to say anything, the man spoke
He introduced himself saying his name is Dazai Osamu and he just offered to give him a job on the spot
With hesitation, Dazai further explained what he meant saying that he works at a tattoo parlour and is looking for some new artist to help out in the shop
Took a moment for Atsushi to accept his offer, but decided to give in after Dazai promised him that he'd be payed a really decent amount
And so, Atsushi became a new member of this so called tattoo parlour
