What if the Constructs turned into animals?

Part 1/?

¬ Proof read, not beta read

What If The Constructs Turned Into Animals?

How this all started could have been a creative idea from Asimov. Because, why not?

Maybe he watched Lassie or something that triggered the idea. Hence, made a really convincing proposal on making animal constructs.

Even if Nikola says no, Asimov still does it anyway. He uses his spare time to make frame prototypes.

The idea is to take the contruct's conscious and reinstall it to the animal frame. So the animal contructs can operate with human intelligence. Simple as that.

He (Asimov) has candidates in mind. He doesn't tell the SKK/You about the project it was just, "Commandant of Grey Raven, may I borrow your team for a while?"

“hm? What is this about?" you asked

"it's nothing... Tell your team to meet me in my office."

You didn't say no, so... That means he can use your contructs as he pleases.

Lmao, if you forgot to tell your team about the arrangement, imagine the speakers be like, "Grey Raven Squard, Grey Raven Squard. To the Science council's office." like they are in trouble of something.

What if the Constructs turned into animals?

Part 1

Part 2

¬ Proof read, Not beta read

What If The Constructs Turned Into Animals?

You/ SKK just finished a meeting. As you walked down the corridor, you wonder how your constructs are doing with Asimov.

So, you decided to visit the Science department. You arrived at Asimov's office and knocked on the door. The door slide open automatically and to your surprise...

Kamui (Bastion)

Was the first one to get converted. He thought he was going to get an upgrade or something.

But he didn't think he would get an upgrade like this.

He was introduced as a Golden Retriever called, Sundae.

At first disliked the transition, because he was not able to speak and has difficulty using his paws.

But overtime, he's kinda fine with it. He does give into his animal instincts.

Wags his tail 24/7

Has a lot of chaotic energy. He borks when he get's excited.

When he sees you entering the office. He quickly jumps at you to give you slobbering kisses.

He be like, "Shikikan~ I missed you, come play with me!!"

He sticks to you like glue and will not leave until you give him your full attention.

Lee (Palefire)

He hates it. He hates his whiskers, his tail and paws. He hates everything.

In reality, he just hates the fact that he couldn't control and communicate well in animal form.

Dislikes Kamui even more. He reckon it was because he's now a cat. It urks him that he's way smaller than Kamui.

Sits on Asimov's lap and sulks. Asimov just nicknamed the cat construct 'Mr Grumpyface' because Lee was not pleased, not one bit.

Likes to be in high places like the table or shelves.

An aloof cat.

Whenever he sees Kamui goes near you, he stops what he was doing and attacks.

He protects, he attacks.

Liv (Benediction)

A very sweet looking bunny.

Like to stick with Lucia the most.

Doesn't mind the transition. In fact, she felt more at peace.

Though, she did wonder how on earth could she help out in the battlefield.

But it doesn't really matter, she will still do her best to support others. Even, if she's just a rabbit.

Because Liv looks so fragile, others are extra protective of her.

But really, she has the strongest frame out of everyone. "Build for stamina and speed" as Asimov puts it.

Very clean

Lucia (Lotus)

Another canine construct, a Shiba. Feels a little skeptical about the transition.

But will go along with it, as long as you want her to.

Despite being smaller in size, Lucia can still put up a fight with others.

She's 100% your personal guard dog.

She bit Asimov when he was checking her teeth upon first activing the frame.

That's why Asimov programed the frame to be extra obedient right after the fact. Yet, he didn't do it with Kamui's

She is protective of her comrades and allies, but especially to you.

Sometimes growls at certain people for no reason. Someone takes out the trash? Growls. Someone sneezed? Growls.

She will stop if you tell her to.

You stopped on your tracks when you saw a number of animals surrounding Asimov. Neither of you spoke but the Chef Technician broke the silence by clearing his throat.

"what?" he said bluntly.

"oh, nothing..." you stattered. Your gaze immediately met the floor and hurriedly ran out of the office. The door closed automatically as you made your way back to your quarters thinking, since when did the Science department got a Petting Zoo?

When the constructs get jealous...

When The Constructs Get Jealous...

¬ Proof read, Not Beta read

Pgr bois x Commandant/Reader, Head canons

What could possibly make a construct feel jealous?

Changyu (Qilin)

This tiny construct usually gets treated like a small kid, outside of missions.

He might low key like it due to how much he can get away with certain cheats.

That is until if another smaller, cuter construct joins.

Kinda took his 'young sibling' status away, and he no longer has the privilege.

When he gets jealous over the new construct, he would sulk alone and just be silent.

If he feels you are leaving him out, he would avoid or ignore you; he trys to tough it out.

Forms his own circle and be saying things like, "Nah, I am hanging out with the cool guys!" but deep down he knew it's not the same without you.

But don't worry, he will go back to normal when you make it up for him. He's kinda simple.

Chrome (Arch light)

Rarely shows that he is jealous. Or, it might be hard for him to get jealous.

Although, he might get jealous over the fact that you didn't come to him whenever you needed help or assistance.

He sees you are always asking others but him. It might make him feel he's not good enough to assist you.

Even if he doesn't have expertise in an area, he will always give his best for you.

He might try to not think much about it too much.

He probably would keep it to himself. Be professional at all times and not let his personal emotions affect his duty.

He works very diligently, but would get a little distracted if he sees you asking others instead of him.

Taking side glances at you from time to time.

Kamui (Bastion)

He likes to hang out and spend time with the Grey Ravens, especially you.

The cause of jealousy for him is kinda self explanatory. He just wants your undivided attention.

Has a child-like bahaviour. So you can imagine how he could possibly react when jealous.

Feel like he would gatekeep you from others.

Sometimes, when he sees you doing something with others, he also wants to do said thing with you.

He would be all up in your face.

When you call him out, he might react in two ways: 1. He pouts and whines a bit about how you never really spend time with him other than missions. 2. Smiles sheepishly and admits to it (though, I see this more from Tenebrion).

Lee (Palefire)

He's a bit non reactive nor is he verbal about it, but his actions shows.

Will not admit he is jealous and will not say why out loud.

Also, would low key be a gatekeeper

He would sabotage attempts/advances from others when he feels jealous.

"hey, (y/n) wanna hang out tomorrow?" "Commandant, if I am not mistaken, you have a full schdule tomorrow.

"I do?" "of course, do you want me to ask Cecila about that for you?" "...no, it's fine... "

If Kamui is involved, Lee would straight up say, "No." and proceeds to gatekeep.

He not much of a person to pry over other people. So if you insist to go hang out he will leave you be. He wouldn't be the type to follow you.

Because he has no reason to.

But he would be a in sour mood all day. He just holes up in his room disassembling stuff.

Watanabe (Nightblade/Astral)

Hardly gets jealous. He just doesn't see what is there to envy about.

He is too old mature to get jealous that easily.

Maybe back in his pre-construct days, he would be more expressive and be easily jealous of others over a promotion or praises.

That is, if he thinks he also put in the work and deserves it.

Even if he does get jealous now and then as a construct. He might not even know it himself. He would simply channel the jealousy into something else.

Like, being suddenly booted out of a task because there's someone "better" for the job. He would stay quiet and not make a fuss about it.

It makes it seems like he’s very level headed, but really, he’s watching that person’s performance carefully. A silent competitor.

When he performs the same task, he makes sure he does it perfectly as to kinda say, “Let the old pros do it.”

Maybe, he does want your praise and respect after all. :)

COMMUNICATION REQUEST: Kamui

Commandant, COMMANDANT!

Guess what, I had a dream last night!

I know constructs can't dream, but hearing what Banji said it seems like a cool experience. So, I want to try it out too.

Turns out, dreaming is actually not that hard! All you have to do is gather a bunch of memory data that you like and replay them together! And, you are in every single one of them!

Being around you always make me happy.

I wonder, if we spend more time together, this means I can have more memories of you.

Say, why don't we hang out more often ? (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

Giving constructs your black card can either go two ways...

Part 1

Pgr shopping headcanons

Giving Constructs Your Black Card Can Either Go Two Ways...

¬ Not Beta Read

Errands. Errands were on your mind for quite a while. You have been putting it off for quite some time. It's not usual for you to skip running errands, but things were getting rather hectic lately in the base.

You heard rumors from some people, that the higher ups, higher than the head of council, Nikola, was coming in for an inspection/visit at the base. You don't know what the exact details were, but all you know is that, being the Commandant of the Grey Raven Squard, they put you in charge of approving proposals and requests for the big day.

Hence, being pulled left and right, you barely have time to do some simple shopping for yourself. You know you need to do something about it soon, walking along the corridor you bumped into...

Lucia (Lotus)

You bumped into her while having your brows furrowed, looking stress.

She notices it quickly and asks, "Commandant, are you alright? Is there something bothering you?"

"ah, Lucia... You see I have been so busy with approving paper work... I don't have time to run errands." you said, feeling a little embarrassed.

You know Lucia will 100% help.

So, she offers run errands for you.

She's got the shopping list and black card, makes her way to town.

It would take her a while to bring the shopping back because, she's kinda distracted by the window displays.

If Lucia sees something she likes/wants, she does fight the urge.

She keeps telling herself, "I am only here to do Commandant's errands."

She will manage on her own. :)

Bianca (Zero)

Bianca noticed how you are pacing back and forth. She remember hearing people pointing out how hectic your schedule became.

She goes up to you and asks what's wrong.

"oh... It's not a big deal... Just... My daily supplies are running low, but I just Don t have time to restock." you said sheepishly.

Bianca sees no problem in helping you out.

She is one of the constructs where you can trust her with your black card.

Gets the shopping done really easily.

She might buy more stuff if it's related to the item in your errands list.

Because, you also need something like a fabric softener to go with the detergent. Or a full set facial

Chrome (Arch light)

You spotted him and quickly pulls him aside.

You asked, "Hey Chrome, you are not busy, are you?"

"Well... I still have to finish up the report for the Co op mission... But I can spare some time if you request." anything for you, Commandant.

You task Chrome to run your errands and trusts him with your black card.

One might think, Chrome is good with this, right?

Well guess what, he takes the task so seriously that might as well take him a whole day to finish shopping.

Get's stress over the type, brand, size, and colour of the products. He doesn't know which one your would prefer, uses or like.

So, he ends up buying all of them.

"Commandant, I don't know which one you like, so I bought every single one of them. "

Chrome doesn't think he wasted money as long as it matters to you. And, buying 10+ different fabric softener matters.

Needless to say, you stopped asking Chrome to do your shopping.

Watanabe (Night blade)

If you tell him what's troubling you. For sure he will low key tell you off for not managing your time well.

Despite that, Watanabe would help you out. He takes your black card and hastily get's the shopping done.

Honestly, it won't take him long because he doesn't really look at brands. He might look at the type and functionality but that's pretty much it.

Unlike Bianca, he does the bare minimum.

He just buys everything on the list.

After returning everything to you, Watanabe reminds you once more about time management and he's only doing this for you once.

Changyu (Qilin)

He hears you are in need of an errand boy. So, he decidces to take the job.

"yo, Commandant! I heard you are in need of some assistance."

He proposed to do the shopping for you for a fair commission fee.

You have no choice, but to pay up front.

Takes his sweet time with the shopping. Probably use that money he earned to buy what he wants first.

If he sees something in the list along the way, he will buy it.

But not before looking at the price tags.

Quite stingy. He can't believe it costs so much for a roll of paper towels. That hurted him personally.

There are two ways he can do this: 1. Just buy it. It's not his money anyway. 2. Go get a cheaper alternative and haggle his way.

Since you paid him, he takes it seriously. It's a job after all.

He haggles for the cheapest price.

You end up saving a lot of money, but are using some off brand products.

A Drive and the Beach

A Drive And The Beach

¬ not beta read

Watanabe x Commandant/Reader

Summary:

Separated from your constructs during a mission, you could only call Babylonia for help. As a space craft was sent to pick you up, you also bumped into Watanabe who offered to assist you.

Maybe after a road trip journey, it made you realised, under hard metal frame, lies a soft temperament.

A Drive And The Beach

Tags: fluff, long one shot, potential spoilers for affection lvl, reader was born in Babylonia, I tried to write Watanabe like a boomer ;w;

The scorching heat from the sun was certainly unforgiving. Your support construct, Liv, would have made repeated reminders for you to drink more fluids and apply sufficient amount of sunscreen in every few hours. This time around though, you had never wish to not to hear Liv nag about you getting a potential sunburn.

The communication screen popped up from your communication device. The holographic screen projected a map in front of you. A red dot was blinking at an empty area. Indicating, the pick up point for the Space shuttle you had requested.

You went still, comprehending the map and plan that Babylonia had arranged. When you finally came to your senses, you let out a frustrated sigh, “Are you kidding me?”

You were a long way away from the pick up location.

An emergency retreat signal was sent to your constructs' inner devices, telling them the coordinates to get to the space craft.

As of right now, the best option was to keep moving forward.

*****

Walking along the dusty grounds, you couldn't help but to reminisced what had happened; a careless mistake. You should have scan the area more thoroughly before moving forward.

Unknown to you, a huge corrupted ambushed your team; made from clustering a number of smaller corrupted together. The situation was chaotic and the next thing you knew, you got out of range and got lost.

You shook your head slightly, to make yourself stop reminiscing and told yourself to look for a place to shield from the sun.

Walking for a long while, you saw signs of infrastructure ahead. Approaching, what seems to be, a dilapidated factory, you injected yourself another bottle of serum just in case.

Taking each step with caution, you navigate your way around the area. It felt eerily quiet as you went further in until you heard a faint scraping noises.

Curious, you followed the sound, waiving your way through the pipes and tubes. You knew you were close by how the sound became a little clearer.

Then, you heard someone talking. Their voice sounded awfully familiar. Peering to an semi opened area, you noticed a figure was kneeling on the ground. He wore a familar brown coat and bore his signature set of grey hair.

You were surprised to see Watanabe alone.

Although, you don't know what was he doing, you felt a little relief to see someone you were acquainted with.

The construct soon stopped what he was doing. He stood up, in a blink on eye, he was standing right next to you.

The sound of electric crackling brought your attention towards the back. You turned our head around to see that a corrupted was about to land an attack on you.

Watanabe's machete had impaled right at it's head, stopping the machine to coming any closer.

"You should be a lot more careful," Watanabe said as he retracted his blade. The red lights faded from the corrupted's eyes, and it fell to the ground.

"What are you doing in a place like this, Commandant of Grey Raven. Where are your constructs?" he crossed his arms.

"We got separated and I had called for a Space shuttle to come pick us up." you said.

Watanabe listened and lifted his head to look at the surroundings. As an experienced aircraft pilot, he spoke," this area is not the optimal place for an air craft to land... The infrastructure could be damaged due to the impact from landing. Who knows what type of corrupted would be hiding in these power plants. The terrains here also doesn't make landing ideal." he signed," where on earth did you requested them to land?"

You could only look at Watanabe with a complicated expression. Instead of words, you showed him the map with the red dot.

"... And how exactly are you going to get there? By foot?" Watanabe questioned.

You didn't answer. It felt a little embrassing to admit walking was your plan. Even though, you had no choice.

The silence made it clear to Watanabe. He was in thought. It would be easy to have just leave you alone and mind his own business. After all, he doesn't owe you a favour.

But, leaving you here wasn't a good idea either. And, he wondered, if helping you out could score him another negotiation point for the near future.

Contemplating for a while, he made his decision.

"Well," you broke the silence, "it would be better if there's a bike or something nearby." you tried to jest, "But, I don't really have much of a choice."

Watanabe nodded.

"Actually, I think I saw an old car nearby. If I can start the engine, I can get you there by... Around night time?"

You were surprised by his unspoken offer. He might not say it out loud, but you knew he wanted to help.

"Follow me" he said and you obligated.

It didn't take long for the construct to find the vehicle. A red van, designed to look like an old model of the golden age. It would have look really classic and vintage in your eyes, if it wasn't for the accumulated sand and dust.

"It would be great if you could help me wipe the windows," Watanabe ordered. He lifted the roof of the car and inspected the engine. There were a little bit of sand in between the gears, but it was still in good condition.

Meanwhile, you took off your coat and began wiping the dust and sand away from the wind shield as well as the windows.

Fishing through his small pack, Watanabe moved on to the car door and took out a small trinket of tools.

He fiddled with the lock for a while and with a click, the door opened. He quickly got in the driver's seat and proceed to start the engine by holding the startup wires with both hands and carefully connected the metal ends together.

You watched Watanabe; giving it a few more tries, the vehicle suddenly rumble with life. For a brief moment, the construct turned to you and gave you a proud smirk. You smiled back at the success.

“Get in,” Watanabe said and you hurriedly went to the front seat.

Buckling up your seat belt, Watanabe pull the shift stick and stepped on the accelerator. The wheels turned as the car began to pick up speed. Moving it’s way along the dusty road.

*****

In the car, Watanabe had one hand on the steering wheel and another on the radio; fiddling with the buttons and dial. In hope, there might be some music to ease the awkwardness.

For Watanabe, he felt the nostalgia of his youth.

You, on the other hand, was a little confused over the buttons and the rotating dials.

“Never seen one of these before, huh?” Watanabe asked.

“Not really.” you replied.

Hearing this, Watanabe chuckled, “… I guess you're not familiar with models like these... what are the latest car models in Babylonia?” he asked.

“…I think it's the BWX-00...25 or 28? I only heard about it from others but, … the models nowadays are not as complicated as this... ”

“… …” Watanabe seeming to look a little troubled with a thought. However, he didn’t continue pressing about the topic.

The conversation ended as the awkwardness quickly settled between you both, and it panned out through the rest of the car ride.

To pass the time, you had taken interest in the scenery. Scenery, that you only saw in books when you were a child.

You also noticed, from time to time, Watanabe would take glances at you. You suspected he wanted to tell you something. However, knowing this fact didn't make you take the first initiative for small talk.

As the silence engulf both of you, Watanabe began to ask questions. Questions of the mundane nature such as:

"Do you have a favourite food?"

"What are your interest?"

"What would you want to be of you didn't join the military."

"How are the people living in Babylonia?"

You reply back out of courtesy. After all, Watanabe went out of his way to help you.

At first, you held your guard up around him. That was because of the stunt he pulled with Liv and that box of mint. You haven't really forgot about that.

However as time pass, you find yourself gradually became more relaxed around Watanabe.

The more he asked, the more willing you were to answer.

Thinking to himself for a moment, Watanabe then said, “ You are from Babylonia, right?”

“…Wait, what do you mean by that?” you questioned him.

“You’re not from earth, like I am. Correct?” Watanabe said as he maneuvers the car to a highway.

There, the ride became less bumpy.

You eyed the construct next to you, wondering was there any ulterior motives for asking such a question.

"how do you know?" you asked back.

"It's not hard to guess. You answer like a person who lives in Babylonia for their whole life. "

Thinking long and hard, you concluded there was no harm in answering his question. What would he do with this piece of information anyway?

Letting out a sigh, you answered, “I was born in Babylonia… but if you are wondering, I do know a thing or two about Earth.” you felt like putting that out there just in case.

Watanabe didn't reply immediately.

You weren’t sure how to respond to his silent. So you continued, “… Earth is not bad. Very scenic... I guess, that might be a reason why you are staying here.” You added.

A bitter chuckle left Watanabe’s lips, “There are many scenic places on earth that Babylonia can’t mimic. My reason to stay… it’s a complicated matter…” His voice slowly trailed away.

However, he continued, “I once wanted to go to Babylonia... But... The Oasis, is more like my style,” there was a hint of gentle sincerity in his voice.

You know he didn't want to go down a certain topic. Hence, you decided to let him dwell in his own and continued to look out the window. Light was gradually fading and the temperature was getting cooler by the minute; something you didn’t expected.

The sudden contrast in climate was a phenomena you never really experienced. Temperatures are always regulated in the Space Colony. They do mimic the seasons but it was never unpredictable and deceiving as Earth.

“Commandant of Grey Raven…” Watanabe spoke again. This time he turned on the head lights. Your attention quickly reverted back to the present and noticed how much darker it became.

“… Is there a place where you would like to see on earth?” the question felt as if it came out of no where. For you, that topic never occurred to your mind. Winning the war for humanity was always the thing you prioritise. Hence, Babylonia comes first.

However, Watanabe’s questions made you think hard to yourself. You didn’t feel suspicious when he asked that. There were no hints of deceive nor malice in his voice. But rather, genuine and curious.

In fact, through out the whole car ride, Watanabe felt… likeable. Despite him, seeming enjoy talking about old fashioned topics.

"A place on earth… let's see... ” you stalled while looking out the window. By then the sky had already turned dark blue. It was dark but you were still able to make out repetitive movements that splashes against each other.

You never thought of see it with your own eyes.

“wait, is that... ?!” you said.

It surprised Watanabe and quickly, pulled the car over.

Without a word, you took off your seatbelt and got out. The construct quickly followed, wondering what on earth were you doing.

Picking up your pace, you came to the edge of the highway and looked out at the horizon. The sea breeze was gently kissing your cheeks as you look out.

You never knew you were driving this close to the ocean.

Watanabe quietly approached you and looked out into the horizon as well. Both stood in silence before you said in a small voice, “… This is the first time I ever saw a real beach…”

Watanabe remain quiet.

Looking down at your feet, you kneel down and gently touched the sand. It felt a little rougher than you thought, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Running the sand through your fingers for a while, you had enough courage to take off your shoes and made your way towards the water.

As the waves crash against your feet, the cool sensation gave you goosebumps. It feels similar but different than of Babylonia’s.

Watanabe watched as you began to fool around the water, like a small child. You had seem to forgot your duties as a commandant; and was enjoying the moment of surprise and discovery.

Instead of scolding you for wasting time playing with water, the old construct let you. He find joy in watching you act like a child, and was amused by your reaction as from the new generation.

He watched as you curiously took in everything. The sound, the smell, the feeling of the waves, how the natural sand feels between your toes.

BEEP BEEP BEEP… … BEEP BEEP BEEP… …

You stopped when you heard your communication device rang.

The lights from your wristband lit up, flashing to tell you there was an incoming call. Quickly, your posture changed; turning back to a commandant and you took the call.

The communication channel opened and the sound was static, but nevertheless, you can see the image of Lee as well as Liv and Luica who were standing behind him.

“Com…Mandant…” Lee spoke.

“Yes?”

“Tha-nk goodness, the channel wor-ked” Lee muttered under his breath, “ Are you alrigh-t? We have arrived at the p-ick u-p lo-ca-tion as instructed.”

“I am glad you are all save! Right now I am with Watanabe, and I am on my way.” you replied.

“That-‘s a re— lief to h-ear,” Lucia said, “ Wa-tan-abe isn’t causing you any tr-ouble, Commandant?”

You shook your head, “I am fine. Watanabe is here to help. I’ll be there soon!”

“Good. The co-nection can't hold on for long. We have to e-nd the call here. So, t-ake care, Comman-dant” Lee said.

You nodded and bid your farewell. You shuted off the communication channel and looked at Watanabe, who, was waiting by the car. Putting your shoes on, you jog your way back to the car. You had a feeling he would scold you for your unprofessionalism. Embarrassed, you apologised, “Sorry, about that... and to making you wait…”

The construct waved to gesture he was fine with it, “No worries...The Grey Ravens must be worried. Let’s get going," his voice had return to the usual sternness. But this time, you didn't feel intimated as you first had encountered him.

You buckle your seat belt on, and waited for the construct to get settled. You said, "by the way, thank you for letting me spend time with the beach." there was paused, "... you're not so bad after all," your voice went quiet at the last sentence. You gave a playful smile.

Hearing that, the construct couldn't help but gave a chuckle, "you are welcome, Commandant."

Without wasting any more time, the car sped through the highway into the night.

May I Request Something? Lately I Feel Burnout And Somehow Lost Motivation To Do Things After Lost My

Commandant of Grey Raven,

I have received your message well.

I am coming to you, firstly as the leader, to express my deepest gratitude for your support and assistance to the Strike Hawk team.

Secondly, Commandant, as of late, I have not heard of you, active, for a while, and that got me worried. But, to receive a message from you I was beyond relief, and so was Kamui.

In fact, I am happy you seek me for assistance, and you are never a burden to me, Commandant.

Reading your message, I could only express my condolences for your loss, Commandant. I understand that it must be hard for you, hence, not hearing much from you for a while is reasonable.

If I may also point out, the lack of motivation, perhaps, you are experiencing an extended period of grief ?

Ah! Please, forgive me if I am getting ahead of myself.

Unlike humans, constructs might not be able to understand the complex emotions and feelings that humans do in a flexible way. But, we do understand the extent of how you feel.

I think it is natural for humans to express sadness. From my experience from witnessing others, keeping it all inside doesn't seem optimal, and I fear you would commit the same painful mistakes, Commandant.

If it comes in a form of vent, a release of emotions, or even just wanting company around, I will gladly be there for you. For, I want to stay by your side and to assist you to the fullest. It would be a huge shame to not have a great Commandant like you.

Even if I am not your construct like the Grey Ravens, I wish to be of use to you and support you. As, how you have supported and cared for us, Strike Hawk.

I don't mind waiting for you.

Please, Commandant. Your orders?

(( Hello, thank you for sending your message, and thank you for your encouraging kind words.

I am sorry that you are going through such a painful time. And, I completely understand how you feel.

It must be hard to lose your will to do things that you once love doing or just anything in general. This is usually linked with grief.

Please don't feel silly to feel this certain way. Grief is a tough emotion to go through. And, I think that you are still able to take the initiative to reach out for support proves that you are still standing strong. And, that's really impressive.

So, don't beat yourself up. Take as much time as you want and need to heal. As times goes, it will become less and less difficult. Like Chrome said, he will wait for you. :)

Kamui thought that bumping into you in the corridor means that you guys get to spend time hanging out or do drills together.

"Sorry, Kamui, not today..." you said and mumbling about a certain shopping list.

Despite, him being more mature in the Tenebrion frame, he couldn't help but be a little nosy and tune into your worries.

When he was able to coax you to say what's on your mind, he laughs, "That's easy, I can run errands for you!"

Before he heads off, he teases you about double checking the shopping list, "you're sure that's everything? "

You still is quite skeptical about giving Kamui your black card. But he seems to be confident enough to handle on his own.

"Don't worry, Commandant,I am a big Boi now, I will put your black card right here." he places your black card in a designated pocket so he will not forget.

Unbeknown to you, Kamui invites Camu along the shopping trip...

Camu (Crottota)

Does not help and doesn't even want to.

He's so stubborn about what he likes and dislikes.

But, he was "forced" to go shopping with Kamui.

To be fair, the reason why Camu would tag along is mostly because he wanted to get some snacks.

He tries to put the snacks in the basket, but Kamui puts it back.

Both started arguing.

"you can't buy that, it's not on the list." "tsk, well then what's the point of bring me here then?"

Camu uses you as an excuse, and some how was able to convince Kamui to buy a bunch of snacks.

It probably went like: "fine! Then I will give this to Commandant!" "Commandant doesn't like that. Now, this is more like it." "dammit! That's not a good flavour!"

You get the gist.

They both end up getting 30% of the shopping done.

But really, despite 70% went to snacks. Camu got them with you in mind.

Lee (Palefire)

He was looking for you.

"Commandant, I have finished up the report analysis for all the proposals. It should be easier for you to approve them if necessary."

Lee is reliable as aways, so you thought it would be a good idea to ask him to run some errands.

He doesn't seem to be too pleased with the request and asks why. Because he genuinely wanted to know.

"Please, Lee. I just need help from you one last time!" 🙏🙏

He agrees and you gave him the list and your black card.

He is fully focus on the shopping. Scaning each product and analysing the ingredients before purchasing.

When he comes back and give you your stuff, you realised there were not the usual brands that you were used to.

When ask about that, Lee proceeds to sit with you and gives you his analysis on each and every one of the product.

"This detergent has 0.6% more baking soda which yields a better result for stain removal." or "This shampoo uses an extra 2 types of natural oils than your average shampoo. It helps with hair growth."

You returned to your room by the end of the day, with a bunch of paperwork and a bag of your purchased items.

Sighing from a long day at work, as well as stress over the constructs, you couldn't help but give a small warm smile.

Even though the task was not performed how you have in mind, it's still a nice thought that people or constructs cares enough for you.

Being cared for, is such a nice feeling.

To be continued...?

COMMUNICATION REQUEST: Lee

Commandant,

The request wavier you talked about, I've handed it over to Cecila. It should reached the conucil by tomorrow afternoon, to get the request approved.

I've also made inspections to your new uniform that arrived yesterday. Although the style has changed in taste, the functionality, I find, is not optimal. I think there's room for improvements.

After all, no one really understands the line of work you do; to make the optimal battle suit. So, I am taking the liberty to implement the said improvements into your uniform.

I want to make sure it fits well and is comfortable for you, hence, taking your measurements is crucial. Will you come by my room later, Commandant?

Things I Wish I Could Say Out Loud...

Things I Wish I Could Say Out Loud...

¬ Not beta read

Lee x Commandant/Reader

Summary:

There are many things that Lee has documented into his data library. However, lately he has been taking a different method of documentation. This time it's with a voice recorder.

Things I Wish I Could Say Out Loud...

Tags: bittersweet, one-shot, potential spoilers for affection lvl.

"XX of XX, year 21XX, Construct: Lee. Location: Babylonia...... Recording session no. 108 of things I wish I could say out loud..."

*******

It was a small gift from Murray.

Lee took a look at it in his hand.

"What is this for?" the construct asked.

Murray smiled. However, Lee didn't find his own question funny.

"It's something I think you would like. You can record anything you want with it." the man said.

Inspecting the device, the construct only kept a neutral face before replying, "It's not necessary for constructs like me to have these things. My data recording mechanics works just as perfect, if not, it yields 30% more effective than of devices such as these. Output quality, file formating, and sound mixing are all put in consideration when you buy products like this. Constructs have many built in functionality, rendering these thing useless to them..."

Lee's voice faded as he spoke. A dead silence settled between them. The harsh words that Lee put forward didn't seem to hit Murray in anyway, a smile was still kept drawn on his face.

The silence, however, gave Lee an uncomfortable feeling. His synthetic skin mimicked goosebumps. He should say something to ease the silence. That's when he added, "... I don't need this, Murray."

He handed the device to his brother.

Murray shifted and a small laugh escaped his lips.

"I know it's useless, in a technical stand point. But," Murray gently pushed the device back into Lee's hand, "I ought to think that maybe, as useless as it may be, this is exactly what you need."

Lee, after thinking about it, decided to accept the gift out of courtesy. "Very well..." He replied and pocketed the gift.

After receiving the device, Lee gave it a go and tried it out a few times. He didn't like it, and was planning to disassemble the gadget instead.

However, he went against it due to a small talk when he bumped into Murray one day. Who, asked him about the gift, and Lee felt a reluctance to treat the device as it was intented.

He began finding use for the voice recorder. Using it, as a means to record logs or data, however, he found no joy in doing that.

During his weekly frame maintenance check, Lee spotted Asimov, owning the same model of voice recorder on his office desk. In fact there were two.

There was an urge to ask about it, seeing it was a coincidence. Asimov, his look as sour as ever, reply with a sarcastic flare, "One," he held up the left one, "is to document research logs. The other," he held up the right one, "is to collect all my disagreements and complaints against everyone here, hoping that one day I would drop this and have Hassen or someone pick it up and listen to it."

Disputes between departments in the council wasn't unheard of. However, Lee was interested at Asimov's latter use of a voice recorder. It wasn't a bad idea.

Sure, Lee himself has disagreements and verbal fights; especially towards Kamui. But, there were times he restricted his tougne for the sake of his Commandant.

So, when he returned to his quarters, he took the recorder and began to spew his complaints.

*******

"... I dislike the way you always put others before yourself..."

*******

The notification in Lee's system alerted him it was time for a special mission debriefing. The Grey Raven Squard were called in by Celica. Lee left his resting quarters as he headed out to the meeting room. There the rest of his team were waiting for him.

Celica came in last and placed a pile of paperwork on the table. Without hesitation, she began working on the control panel.

Lee noted that this usually means this particular mission is either important or it has a special status in the Babylonia database.

The lights dimmed. Images and information were projected up for everyone to see.

"Operation Underground..." Celica handed out her report file to you, "President Hassen wants the Grey Ravens to be dispatched as soon as possible, " she said.

"After some consideration and thorough analysis, it was concluded an archaic type of memory data is located under this ruin civilisation," the slide show propped up an image of a satelite map, "It was thought, back then, people had been toying about the concept of creating Constructs. Maybe that's why there are so many traces of memory data found there."

"you mean, memory data from the golden age?" you asked.

"Technology -wise yes, but the data... It could be a span ranging way before the golden age. The Science council had send teams to conduct excavation in the ruins, but through out the years corrupted levels are getting higher in that area," Celica said.

"Let me guess, Nikola wants us to investigate the area on the Science Council's behalf?" Lee asked.

"Actually, the main objective isn't to investigate the ruins , more so, President Hassen requested you guys to retrieve an archaic memory data. During the last excavation, the team found a Supercomputer, it was believe it stores the raw data. " she replied.

"but the supercomputers are so old, would the data even been salvageable upon retrieving?" Lucia asked, "As we know, technology back then has a higher probability of crashing and produce incomplete data."

"As long as the data is stored in a super computer, the percentage of data lost during extraction is small, compare to a data chip or a transferring port. Normally, supercomputers have two to four back up drive. If one drive or server courrpts, the other drive will immediately download the data. So extracting straight from a super computer is much safer. But, it's best if data loss can remain below 1.273%." Lee spoke.

Impressed by Lee's analysis, you closed the file and stood up. There was no time to waste in this operation.

"We will look into the details during our descent, Grey Ravens, move out." you ordered and your constructs followed.

As you all walked out of the meeting room, Celica said, "Oh, I almost forgot, this ruin is consider a danger zone, so please do not hesitate to retreat when necessary."

*******

"... I always do my best to serve you, even if my logic and words may make it sound the opposite. Please know, all that I am doing is all for your best interest as well as your future. You have to live, Commandant. At all cost... "

*******

He had been waiting for three hours, twenty four minutes and forty five seconds.

The door in the emergency wards was still closed. Lee could only sit in the waiting seat as his other teams mates were also rushed to the repair room.

He, himself, was considered lucky to have taken minimal damage, in comparison. His arm was ripped off and was given a temporary one for the time being. Although, it was advise to return to the Science department as soon as possible to replenish his vital fluids.

The door automatically slid open and the medical team, along with Asimov came out.

Lee turned his head and waited for the news Asimov had to deliver.

"Calm down, Lee, your Commandant is fine," Asimov huffed, he seems a little exhausted.

"I see, what's the condition?" Lee asked.

"You really need to look out for that Commandant of yours. "Brain damage" might sound a little too harsh, but that's the non techincal diagnosis." Asimov waved his hand, " a much techinal term would be, minor brain scarring."

Lee did not reacted.

"Don't worry about it too much. Your Commandant's condition is consider minor, the situation has been stablize. All that is left to do is to rest and recover."

"May I see Commandant?" Lee questioned.

"..." Asimov heasitated, "... Normally, I don't advise visitation, but, I guess I will let it slide this time." the man narrow his eyes a little.

"... But, I want you out in five minutes, understood?"

*******

"I am doing all this is because..."

*******

"Commandant..." Lee spoke in a small voice. You were asleep on the bed. Monitors and devices all plugged up to you as you slumber in the dimly lit room.

Seeing there was no response emitted from you, Lee spoke once more, "Really, Commandant, why do you have to push yourself again? How many times have you visited the medical bay this month? You know it worries us greatly..." He paused.

He was glad he went against your orders this time. If he hadn't called for Babylonia's retreat plan, you would end up in a much serious condition. Linking with the M. I. N. D beacon for an overwhelming amount of time, is not wise.

For sure, he knew you would get a little annoyed by that, and he played a fake scenario in his head that you were actually awake.

Talking to him, asking him why did he went against your orders, to retreat and not push through. He will agree everyone is close, so close to retrieve the data.

But monitoring the linking time, as well as, asking Liv to scan your physical condition once every 15 minutes. Lee can predict you won't last.

And, his prediction was right, and he should call for retreat much sooner. As soon as you arrived back at the base, you collapse on the floor. You nose bleed as you were rushed to the emergency ward.

His answer would have been the same as of Lucia's and Liv's. To protect your well being is a duty of a construct. However, he wasn't satisfied with that anwser.

There's more he wanted to say.

He knows he's not good with words, often making blunt jabs and spilling out harsh realities. Often times, he felt a little misunderstood because of it.

However, he tries. He really does. And, to be alone with the Commandant, in which, you were in a comatose state, might made it easier for the construct to say something.

Say something that he always wanted to say out loud.

He opened his mouth, lips forming shapes that helps projects words, yet no sound came out from his bionic voice.

He immediately gave up and went out of the emergency ward. That five minutes was over anyway.

*******

"... I want to be with you, be by your side for as long as humanly possible. I don't want to lose you, Commandant... "

*******

After a long break, you peak your head into the Grey Raven's Common room.

There, you saw your constructs resting together as usual. Putting up a big smile you playfully jumped out and reveal yourself at the door.

"I am here!"

"Commandant!" Lucia was surprised and quickly rush towards you Liv followed, happy to see you healthy and well.

As both constructs bombarded you with questions on your well being. Lee only approached and stood with a bit of distance.

"Lee?" you looked at him.

As usual, Palefire wore his signature scowl and crossed his arms, "... I see you are alive and well," he cleared his throat, "Welcome back, Commandant."

"Thank you, Lee."

*******

" Commandant, I...I... Humph..."

**Recording ended**

In Kamui, We Trust

In Kamui, We Trust

Kamui x Commandant/reader

Summary:

He has changed, but no one seemed to believe that or, at least, be skeptical about it. But when he sees you were doing the same, Kamui is determined to prove that he is just as reliable as the next construct.

In Kamui, We Trust

Tags: Long, ver long one-shot, action, mentions of Lee multiple times, spoilers of affection lvl.

"Hey, Commandant!"

Kamui's boisterous voice caught everyone's attention. The Grey Ravens had just finished their Simulation drills.

Liv helped you out of your pod, as Lee stood in front of Kamui, who, was eager to see you.

"Kamui, what are you doing here?" Lucia asked.

"Is there a mission that require our assistance?" Lucia asked again before Kamui had a sheepish grin. Rubbing the back of his neck, almost if he's a little embrassed, and said, "Well... No, but please don't tell Chrome I am here though."

Lee gave Tenebrion a look. Skeptical about what Kamui has to say.

"After the last mission, I realised I need more training! I want to strengthen up myself and get use to... Well, me."

You gave a questioning look, "…in other words, you want to get use to your new frame a bit more?"

Kamui smiled brightly, "Yeah! Commandant gets it!"

Lee was about to say something but was pushed aside by Kamui. Exictedly, he showed you the simulation level he had in mind.

"Erm... Kamui..." Liv spoke, "that level is way to high for you to do this alone."

"That's the type of idiot who would make a daring attempt." Lee crossed his arms, head gesturing towards the blond construct.

"Well…one can't push their own limits and improve if you stick to levels you are only comfortable with." Kamui rebuttals with a bright grin.

"Pushing your limits to the extreme is never wise. It usually ends up badly for constructs as well as for humans. So are you going to sacrifice your pain receptors, risking a M. I. N. D Deviation?" Lee spit back.

Kamui had a little pout and remain quiet. He turned to Lee and gave a little shrugged. That infuriated Lee. You quickly diffuse the tension between the constructs.

"Lee, it's okay." you said. Turning towards Kamui you spoke, "I would love to help you with your frame, but we just finished a simulation drill. Maybe, next time."

Kamui wore one of his bright smiles, "Hey, don't worry about it. When next time comes, just give me a call and I will be here all ready. Oh! And it would be nice if you call me via a private channel," He gave a laugh, "don't want Chrome to get the wrong idea."

Lee rolled his eyes. As the Grey Ravens exited the simulation room, Kamui could only feel a little somber over his failed attempt. He has nothing to do beside heading back to his room.

After that time, Tenebrion went for another go. Walking towards the Grey Raven’s common room, he was about to knock on the door when he suddenly got dragged by the collar.

“Kamui, there you are!” Chrome said, “Strike Hawk has just received a new mission. We are getting dispatched in 20 minutes!”

“Wait what?! Why didn’t I know about this? Kamui questioned. Chrome didn't answer him right away and arrived to their common room. Banji was already making preparations.

“I have send the information to your inner devices, read it as we descend,” Chrome replied, “This is a sudden request for backup from earth, so everyone needs to be focus and stay vigilant, got it?”

“Yes, Captain.” Kamui and Banji answered.

**********

"Banji, you keep watch at the south exit. Kamui and I will come in at the north gate,"

Through the inter comms, Banji gave a yawn, "Roger..." He spoke snugglishly and made his way to the designated location as planned.

As Chrome dial to connect to a new channel, Kamui was busy looking around.

"... Kamui, I need you to stop walking around and pay attention, this is a highly infected zone. The enemies are reported to operate on AI, we can't afford to be careless. " Chrome said.

The channel was finally connected a familiar voice came through, "Grey Raven Squard Commandant," it was your voice.

Immediately, Kamui stopped and rushed toward Chrome.

"Hey, it's Commandant, so it seems we are teaming up with the Grey Ravens, huh?" Kamui said and he greeted you.

Chrome cleared his thoart, “Anyway, Commandant. Strike Hawk Chrome reporting for duty. We have arrived at your given coordinates. Grey Ravens, where are your current location?"

"We are by the field, about 300 meters away from where you are. We will be there soon."

"Good," Chrome nodded, "Commandant, I have devised a plan to infiltrate the premises. Please read for review."

"Noted," you reply, "we will get into formation once we met up. There's no time to lose."

"Understood, Commandant." with that, Chrome ended the call. Resulting Kamui, staying a bit silent.

"Kamui," Chrome asked, "What's wrong?"

"... Hmm..." tapping his head with a finger, Tenebrion was in thought, "...nothing, just want to see how can I be of use to Commandant."

"You can be of use by proving yourself in this mission," Chrome said,"But enough of that now, they are going to be here soon, so get ready."

Once you met up with Chrome and Kamui, every one set into their formation as Chrome planned. Luica and Lee entered first while Liv stayed with you and Chrome to scan the surroundings for potential enemies. Kamui was placed at the back to protect you from possible sneak attacks.

"Enemy ahead!" Liv alerted. On cue, a Musashi IX emerges. Its footsteps heavy, marched towards you. Red lights emitted from its chest. It held the blade up ready to launch an attack.

"Lucia, Lee, watch out!" you cried as the corrupted swing the blade towards them.

"Kamui, stay back and protect Commandant! " Chrome ordered.

"Wait, Kamui, he!" Liv exclaimed.

Chrome turned his head around and saw Kamui was nowhere to be found. Looking left and right, he stop when a huge clash rung in everyone's ears. Kamui seems to came out of nowhere and parried the Musashi's attack.

"Kamui!?" Lucia said, surprised to see him at the front.

"That idiot!" Lee exclaimed, "Luica, go take Kamui's place, now!"

Without a word, Lucia and Lee rushed towards you as Kamui fended the mechanism alone. With his new Tenbrion frame, he felt much stronger. The Musashi went in its overclock mode, strengthening its shield.

However, Tenebrion doesn't seems to be worried about it. Seeing this an opportunity to show you what he can do, he unleashed his ultimate and hammered his big sword at the enemy.

The strength from the Tenebrion frame was just as heavy. You felt the ground shook as the weapon made contact. With one finally hit, Kamui plunge his sword into the ground, dark energy spurt up; sending the enemy flying in mid air and impaling its core with dark matter.

The lights from the Musashi faded its body turned limp. Falling to the ground in a huge crash. Kamui relaxed his stances. His smile returned and looked at the rest of you.

Suddenly, the surroundings began to shake. Small amounts of dust and pebbles fell onto your shoulder. The metal ceiling shook from the impact.

"You...! " Lee growled at Tenebrion.

“The place is not going to hold, everyone get out!” Chrome yelled.

Without a second thought, everyone ran towards the exit. Pieces of infrastructure and debris fell one by one. You ran as fast as you could to catch up with the others. The dust that riled up from the ground obscured your vision. You could only trust your insinct to navigate your way, and suddenly, a hand grabbed your arm to pull you back.

A large metal tube like structure fell right in front of you, blocking your path towards the exit as well as your team. The impact was loud and momentarily made your heart beat fast. It only took a few seconds for you to regain focus and assess your situation.

"... That was close..." his voice said.

That's when you realised, Kamui saved you.

“Commandant!!” you heard Liv cried.

“Damnit!” You also heard Lee cursed.

“Guys, I am fine!” you yelled back.

“Wait? Where’s Kamui?!” Chrome cried.

“Captain, I am here with Commandant!” Kamui replied.

“Commandant,” you heard Lucia said, “Stand back, I will cut this pipe…” she was about to take her sword out before Lee stopped her.

“Lucia, wait! I don’t think this is pipe. I just made a scan on it. There's liquid inside that contains explosive substances. Even with a slightest heat, given its scale, it will blow the whole place up.”

“But Commandant…” Lucia spoke.

“It’s alright, Lucia!” you yelled back, “I will be alright, I have Kamui with me.”

“What should we do?” Chrome turned to the Grey Ravens.

“We should check how many enemies are within this area. The ruckus would have alert other AI mechanics nearby.” Lucia said, “Liv, run a scan.”

The support construct nodded her head and scanned the premises.

"Liv what's the situtation up front?" Chrome asked.

"More enemies up ahead on Commandant's side. The Punishing concentration is little more higher. Should we call for a compositor for back up?" Liv replied.

"It’s not necessary, we will find a way. You guys go to the south exit to meet up with Banji. Kamui and I will meet you there.” you ordered.

Despite been given orders, the Grey Ravens were hesitant to leave, “but…” Lucia said.

“Don’t worry, Lucia. I will keep Commandant safe!” Kamui promised.

Looking at each other for a while, the Grey Ravens gave each other a silent agreement.

“We will be waiting for you, Commandant.” Lucia said and followed Chrome towards the exit. Lee and Liv followed.

"It seems we have no choice but to move forward this way." you pointed at the direction that you all ran from.

Suddenly, Kamui proposed “If we travel forward, according to the map, there’s an electrical room here.” he pointed at the metal gates where the Musashi was guarding.

“We might not be able to beat all these corrputed inside but, I know there is a power core. If we can sneak in and activate the core, this could send shock waves to disengage the enemy." he added

You went quiet.

“Wow… That actually sounds like a good plan.” you praised. Kamui grinned happily.

"Wait, how do you know there's a power core?" You asked.

Kamui rubbed his head, "Well... While I was wandering around, I happened to see an electrial power sign. So I took a peek to the electrical room through the vent," He pointed at the vent at the upper corner.

You inspected the vent and noticed an opening near the metal doors.

"So that’s how you ambushed the Musashi…," you said. He face flushed warmly.

Both of you went towards the vent, luckily it was not destroyed. You crawled your way through the tunnel. Both of you stopped above the electrical room. Peering through the opening, you can see the interior.

The power core was right at the middle, still lit up from storing years worth of power generated from the solar panels.

“This must be like a recharge station for a few corrupted models…” you whispered, “where is the ON switch for this?”

Rummaging through your pack, you took a small pair binoculars and tried to find the control panel. At the same time Kamui did a scan of the room. Despite his scanning function weren't as good as Lee’s and Liv’s, he tries his best to locate the control panel.

“There’s a platform on the far end,” he pointed out. You immediately look into that direction. Indeed, you saw a small platform with metals stairs that leads to the observation room.

“I see it,” you replied, “But it’s connected to an observation room. We might have to climb our way up…” you place the binoculars back and looked at Kamui.

He seemed relatively calm, although, he carries a cheerful mood throughout this mission, this time you can see he has changed and now he wore a much serious expression, as if he was think hard.

Lee might like this Kamui more, you think.

“There’s also another door in the room. I guess this must be where the corrupted all come and go after they replenish their energy,” you said.

“The gate is also that way, we can lure the corrupted in and hit that button to zap them.”

“ Before that, we need a rope to make that climb,” You pointed at the platform.

Kamui took a look, “I think I am tall enough to hoist you up there, we should be fine.” you gave him a skeptical look.

He seemed to notice your hesitance to agree and said, “I know Lee is always better prepared and reliable, but… I can also be reliable too, especially in this new frame. Please, Commandant, trust me. ”

You didn't expect him to say that. Reality was, there isn't any other options, and you know that taking a risk is best course of action you could take right now.

Taking a deep breath and a moment to yourself. You access your current situtation before making up your mind. You nodded, “Okay, let’s do this.”

Tenebrion smiled.

**********

Carefully, both of you jumped down from the vent opening. Kamui jumped first and caught you as you followed. Quietly, you went towards the other exit and looked around. So far, no corrupted was in sight.

Kamui looked around and found an emergency panel. Without a thought, he busted it open, and began to look into the emergency functions.

Soon, he realised there was a option to activate an emergency ladder for the control platform. He gave a triumph smile.

Turning his head he looked back at you and gave a signal. You nodded and took out your gun. Taking another deep breath, you walked out to the corridor. Slowly and steady, you held your gun tight. One moment, there was nothing in sight, and the next, you froze in surprise see a red beam aiming at you.

Gun shots fire.

Immediately, you dodge the attack and fired your gun.

“HUMANS… M..UST..BE….DES….TROYED….” Its mechanical voice spoke. The corrupted scanned what was in front and identify you as the target. It took out its small antenna to alert the others.

Soon, a series of marching could be heard from a distance, the group of corrupted that Liv detected must be heading this way. Of course, they were all gathered by the south exit.

You fired your gun twice more before yelling, “They’re coming!” and ran back into the electrical room. The army began to pick up speed. Some jumped up to try and catch you.

Before they can land on you, Kamui swung his big sword, and charged forward to push the corrupted back.

“Kamui!” you shouted.

“I am fine! Just go to the control panel!” Kamui yelled as he hacked away the machines.

At this point, you stop having the seed of doubt. You could only trust him and dashed forward. Other corrupted were alerted and joined in, jumping down from the sides. The sudden formation caught Kamui off guard. Leaving his post he ran towards you and hacked away a corrupted that was getting too close; before it could touch you.

Both Commandant and construct made it underneath the platform. Immediately, you climbed up the ladder into the platform.

Kamui hacked away the bottom half of the ladder before jumping up. He caught the handle of the remaining half and pulled himself up.

Turning on the control panel, the screen lit up and you began to work your way to activated the power core.

“Power Core Activation Error.” the machine spoke.

“What?!” you tried again and entered the command.

“Power Core Activation Error.”

“Damnit! Where’s Lee when you need him!” you cursed.

You tried again, this time you entered the troubleshooting command.

“Trouble-shooting power system, please do not interrupt.” the voice said. A loading screen popped up, and it felt like an eternity to waiting, when it only took a few seconds.

The corrupted began jumping up, in hopes to get to the ladder.

“Trouble-shooting complete.”

You let a small sigh of relief. Kamui looked down to see the corrupted banded up together and stack on top of each other they were definitely coming.

A list of codes and commands popped up on the screen, the colour of the text looked fine until there was a sentence in red. The main problem.

“Power Core not connected…” you read, “Can not detect signal. Please turn signal on.”

“There should be a button or switch on the core to connect it!” Kamui said, “I’ll go turn it on!”

“Wait! That thing is going to shock you!” you pulled him back.

“Commandant, trust me,” he gave you a reassuring smile, “Remember?”

And, you did.

Letting go his sleeve, you gave him a nodded. Kamui nodded back.

Returning to the screen, you began to activate the power core again. Kamui took out his big sword and went into his ultimate. He jumped down from the platform and plunged his sword on a corrupted underneath him; hacking his way towards the power core.

Pushing the machines back, he found a hatchet on the core. Hurriedly busting it open, he activated the signal, linking it up to the computer.

"Signal detected."

At the same time, you entered the activation command. You pressed enter and the loading bar filled itself in.

“Power Core Activated.”

A surge of electricity corse through the room. You watched as strips of electricity ran from above all the way down to the floor. The voltage electrocuted everything that was in its radius, creating a bright sparkle of light blinding you as you cover your eyes. The sound of electricity running through the metal was deafening. Too much to bare, you hastily reached for the control panel to turn the core off.

Slowly, the light diminishes and silence engulf the room.

You lower your arm to take a look at the aftermath. A room full of corrupted lay lifeless on the floor. The only thing to be heard was the sound of a leaking circuit.

“It’s… over…” legs buckled, you slump down. You tried to calm your beating heart.

“Thank god for Kamui…” you mutter, when you suddenly remember about the construct.

Quickly, getting up, you made your way down the ladder and rushed to Kamui’s side. You didn't know if the he was still working and alive.

“Kamui!” you cried and went to his side.

Laying down, Kamui opened his eyes when he heard his name.

“Commandant… we did it! ” he spoke. His bionic voice sounded fizzy.

“Kamui, are you okay?! I will call for the shuttle right away!”

“Yeah, I am alright.” he said seemingly too energetically, earning a strange look from you.

“… Are you sure?” you asked. It’s not normal for a construct to still be fine after a shock.

“Did it not hurt?” you asked again.

“... It should. Guess turning the pain receptors off has it's advatanges, ” he jested.

You gasped, “You what?! I am connecting you to my M.I.N.D right now!”

You linked up his M. I. N. D to your mind beacon. There, you monitored his M.I.N.D deviation hoping the numbers would go down.

“Commandant!” a familiar voice rang through the room. Lifting your head, you saw your team heading towards you.

“Kamui!” Liv cried and rushed towards him. Conducting a full body scan Liv reported,” he’s inner circuit has been damaged, and his M.I.N.D Deviation percentage is not in the normal range!”

“What did you do?” Lee asked.

“He turned off his pain receptors in order for me to active an electric shock,” you answered on behalf, “it eliminated the corrupted but… Kamui was in the cross fire.”

“Liv, how is Kamui situation? ” Lucia asked.

“Right now, he’s connected to Commandant’s Mind Beacon. And, his deviation percentage is steadily declining.” Liv answered.

“Call the shuttle, unfortunately, we need to retreat.” you ordered.

Lee nodded and send a retreat signal to Babylonia.

"Sorry, to have you all worry... This place is better for a compositor to conduct the investigation..." you then look at Kamui who was looking at you, " Thank you, Kamui. I am glad that I trusted you."

Hearing that, Tenebrion couldn't help but to feel warm and fuzzy.

********

“Commandant~” Kamui popped up in front of the Simulation room door.

“You again?” Lee said, “I am surprise to see Asimov let you go early.”

“Kamui, you’re back,” you greeted as you got out of the simulation pod.

“Let me guess… you want me to help with your frame?” you asked.

“Yep!” he grinned brightly.

“Hold up,” Lee held his hand up to stop Kamui from getting too close, “Don’t tell me you want to do a danger zone simulation drill. Wasn't the last mission enough? ”

“Nah~ that’s not what I am here for,” Kamui took out a piece of paper and handed it to you. You took it and read its content.

“A feedback survey?”

“Yep! Chrome said that this could also be a way to improve and strengthen my skills,” Tenebrion crossed his arms and nodded, “So, go ahead and fill it in! We can discuss about it when we have our munchies!”

As you can see, I was very inspired when I wrote this. You can say action scenes are one of my favourite things to write.

BTW “munchies” is a Kamui way of saying food.

Edit: as you can see, this one has more mistakes than the pervious ones bc I accidentally published it. ;w;

Oh well...

If it's alright with you, can I request for a Chrome x reader (angst, then fluff)? It depends on you what you want to write. Thank you so much🙇‍♀️🥺

Beginnings

If It's Alright With You, Can I Request For A Chrome X Reader (angst, Then Fluff)? It Depends On You

Chrome x Commandant/reader

Summary:

Being a construct, time was never truly an essences. Their sense of time could be calculated by era; they judge by having endings and new beginnings.

But when it comes to you, Chrome had a hard time maintaining the sense of time.

If It's Alright With You, Can I Request For A Chrome X Reader (angst, Then Fluff)? It Depends On You

Tags: One-shot, bittersweet, Chronic progression (aging and timeline), 2nd Generation, spoilers for interlude, Implied one-sided.

Beginnings are the inevitable that comes after and before endings. To a construct like, Chrome. What defines as a 'Beginning' is simply an era.

In the beginning, his name was Langston Smith. Taken in, by no other than one of the Officers in Babylonia, John Smith.

During that time, Langston strive to be the perfect Smith, a goal that was and still, ingrained into his mind; the sole purpose of his drive. From adolescence into adulthood, he worked hard to achieve this ultimate goal.

Joining the F. O. S Military Command College, to be one of the best Commandants in Babylonia's newly established Commandant and Construct program. It came with a cost, and he failed.

By then, after the failure to meet his father's expectation, Chrome chose the path of becoming a construct. It's the least that he could do to make his father proud.

Thus, the era of Langston Smith ended. His life as a construct, Chrome, began.

Yet, it wasn't an easy path, the turbulence of his journey of being a construct was hard for him. Many didn't take him seriously, his father, 'Mr. Smith' was still monitoring and intervening his way into success.

Til the day that Chrome was assigned to be the Captain of Strike Hawk, has this difficult journey came to an end. His hardship ended with him reaching his own epiphany, as to ask, what does it mean to be himself, Chrome.

With an end of that era, a new beginning began.

For Chrome, he had thought this particular era would be stagnant for a long while.

Working with countless of commandants, this era was rather, in comparison, mundane. You, were no exception.

Just another Commandant, but of an elite status. Although, you have began to make a name for yourself in the base. There were stories about you; this includes Kamui's account and the many achievements that you have done.

To have a chance to work with you, Chrome felt fortunate. The experience gave him insights. Chrome see areas in his leadership skills that were lacking.

His plans always goes disarray at some point with unpredictable variables, Kamui is another problem. His team didn't necessarily achieve the unity that it should.

But, he sees how you communicate with your constructs. How much trust and bond bounded the team together in order to execute the mission so efficiently and flawlessly. This is what makes the Grey Ravens the most elite squad in Babylonia.

The perfect Commandant and Construct team.

A feat that is not easy, and that you had managed to master it.

Deep down, Chrome knew you held something special. He, himself, couldn't help but to fall under your charisma and trust.

Infatuated, his sense of time ceased.

One day he asked, "Commandant, is there something that you always wanted in life?"

You looked at Chrome, a little confused by his question. There was an urge to be playful about it, however, seeing his serious facial expression. You gave your answer a good hard thought.

"Well..." you began, "Mankind has not reclaimed earth back yet... I think winning the war would be a model answer."

Chrome nodded and listened as you continued, "... But, if you were to ask me, personally, I think living a normal life in peace with a family... is a pretty good thing to want. A world with no war, to be with your loved ones."

Your answer was humanistic. Full of raw desire, and Chrome understood that. To you, it might seems like a light hearted matter, but Chrome took your answer to heart. He wanted to help you achieve this dream.

As the days on the battlefield became frequent, and times were growing harder. Chrome never left your side and fought side by side with the Grey Ravens.

Everyday, he sees you and each battle won was a step taken closer to your dream. Everyday, you work hard for the future that you desire, yet as the battles dragged on, your results was slowly in decline.

You smile less. You start to tell less jokes. Whenever you were traversing through a long distance in the battle field, you need to stop for a rest.

When Chrome came up to you to ask you about your well being, looking up to smile at him you replied, "yeah, I am alright..." He would notice small amount of wrinkles forming around your eyes.

The clock within moved forward, yet his remained still.

His mind was still set of your desire, it never occurred to Chrome that your dreams were slowly taking form in another way.

He the heard news about you. You found a person, a life partner to be with. Chrome will admit, it was not the best time to do that, but everyone was happy for you and he figured, he should too.

So, he fought harder. He stood next to you, loyal and devoted. In his eyes you were still the great Commandant of Grey Raven Squad that he adores. Although, he never took the time to notice how much you, and how fast it was, you have changed.

You attend less field work. You no longer have a genuine cheerfulness, for you begin to lose your loved ones. You frequent the medical bay more often. During mornings, you needed to take more supplements and medication. Yet, you still remained in Babylonia, offering your service.

Until, the day you left the base.

The last time, Chrome saw you. He was visiting on behalf of the Babylonia Team. You were already too weak to walk, body frail and face full of wrinkles, your hair were grey.

On the hospital bed, you looked up at the construct.

One's clock was ticking, yet, another was still.

"Commandant, it's been a long while..." Chrome said.

"Chrome! It's good to see you again! No need for formalities, I am not a commandant anymore," despite smiling, Chrome can see you were tired.

A small figure shuffled beside you, and Chrome took notice. He lifted his gaze and saw a little boy seated right across from him. The child's face was beet red, bashful and shy with this stranger talking to his grandparent.

"Haha... you are here at the right time, Chrome. My grandson was just asking me about Babylonia..." You turned to look at your grandson and continued, "he said, he wanted to join one day."

"Is that so... Then I will be looking forward when that day comes," Chrome smiled at the child.

As the conversation continued, there was a pressing question in the back of Chrome's mind.

Giving it a good though, he held the courage and asked, "... Are you happy?"

You looked at Chrome, giving him same expression from years ago.

You were a little confused by his question. There was an urge to be playful about it, however, seeing his serious facial expression, you sighed and giggle.

"Haha... Of course I am!" you replied.

"But..." Chrome said, "Your dream... you said you wanted to-"

Your cheerful voice cut him off, "That was years ago. I have already forgotten about that. Because, those things are already in the past. Now is now. Right now, I am happy." You turned to look at your grandson and gentle patted his head.

Looking at you, the image of you that Chrome saw was still the great Commandant of Grey raven. Young and robust.

However, to hear your answer, as if a switch had turned on, Chrome's sense of time began to tick.

The image turned and suddenly, in front of him was a human that was once a great Commandant. He never realised how little time your era was left.

"Thank you for everything, Chrome."

Just like that, the day after his visit, you slipped away peacefully.

Every era has to end.

***

"Greetings, Strike Hawk. I am your newly assigned commandant," a young man said. He was wearing a commandant uniform and stood straight and tall in front of Chrome and the rest of his team.

Judging from his age and attitude, he had freshly graduated from F. O. S. Now he is taking the duty of a commandant in Babylonia. To get to met Strike Hawk so soon in his career, he must be a top graduate.

"Oh!? We got a newbie?!" Kamui said.

"A commandant?" Wanshi yawned, "... Do we really need to have a babysitter?"

Fluster the young man remain standing straight. Not letting the comments get to him. However, his face turned slightly beet red from the embarrassment. Despite, Kamui and Wanshi poking fun at him, the new commandant was determined to be the perfect commandant for Strike Hawk.

"You know, being part of an elite team is no walk in the park," Wanshi teased.

"I know that. I know there are many great dangers to be part of this team. But, I have a dream..."

This boy looked familiar. As he gave his answer. It sound like yours.

Chrome stay quiet as he listened. While Wanshi and Kamui had fun interrogating the new candidate, Chrome smiled to himself, letting out a sigh he said, "Kamui, Wanshi, now is not the time to ask questions. Hurry up and greet our commandant."

"Yes, Captain." both of them stepped back and replied.

Holding his arm out, Chrome shook the new commandant's hand, "Greetings, I am Chrome. Captain of Strike Hawk. I am looking forward to working with you."

Maybe this is a beginning. A new beginning to an new era.

Author's note:

I personally find it hard to write concepts, but it's a good challenge never the less. :3 I am sorry there isn't much fluff in this. I thought angst + fluff = bittersweet. ;w; which now that I think about it doesn't seem right.

Also, writing this encouraged me to max out his Affection lvl, and oh Boi... 😳😳😳

Hi been following your blog for a while now and I finally racked up the courage to ask for a request.

The new Chrome Glory frame's idle voice line was super cute like Skk just falling asleep and Chrome sing-songing them to wake up or they'll get a cold but skk doesn't absolute fluff.

It however got me thinking Skk is very overworked their character is so hardworking that in Echo Aria they were fading in and out of consciousness but was insisting they were fine.

I'm a sucker for a sickfic or one of those fics where one has to tell the other to go sleep because they can tell their tired or the fics where the other can't sleep and the other soothes them to sleep.

A bit indulgent I know, but they, funny enough also help me sleep because my mind just constantly races. Any one of those scenarios would be cute to read with Chrome either frame.

Thank you for reading.

Being Here with You...

Hi Been Following Your Blog For A While Now And I Finally Racked Up The Courage To Ask For A Request.

Chrome (Archlight) x Commandant/Reader

Summary:

Having caught a fever during a battle you have no choice but to rest. With Chrome, he is here to make sure you recover well enough to head back to the base.

Hi Been Following Your Blog For A While Now And I Finally Racked Up The Courage To Ask For A Request.

Trudging your way through the battlefield, you noticed your breathing got heavier. you couldn't help but feel your eyes water from your fatigue. 'no,' you said to yourself, 'I must keep moving!'

Sluggishly, you leg felt heavy as you began to fall behind from your team.

"Commandant?" Lucia turned around and asked.

The dizziness began to pick up its momentum, hitting you in waves as you tried to focus on your mission. The rain, at this point, started to pour a little harder.

"I am fine," you managed to speak.

Forcing yourself to push through, you ignored the warnings and concerns from others about your crammed schedule that suddenly arose in your mind. As if now you have finally realised how bad your health has plummeted, with one last step, too weak to support your weight yourself, you came falling down on the muddy ground.

"Commandant!"

*******************

The sky went from dark to light grey as the rain poured heavily, washing the scent of oil and vital fluids away.

"Temperature's reaching 37 degrees," Liv said.

Her hands gently swipe a strand of hair from your forehead. Your clothes have been disposed of near a makeshift campfire, leaving you with your undershirt and shorts.

Lucia had just come back with more firewood and had added them to the fire. In hopes, to dry your clothes as soon as possible.

You shift slightly, head resting on Liv's lap, and you pulled on Lucia and Lee's jacket closer. Trying to suppress the involuntarily cold shivers running through your body.

"How's Commandant?" Lucia asked.

There was a look of worry on Liv's face, "Fever's starting to run high," she said.

"I have used Commandant's comm to request for a medic," Lee said, "They should be here by-"

Suddenly, your comms in his hands began to ring. A new message came through.

Lee accepted the message and proceeded to send it to everyone's inner devices. There was a moment of silence as the group comprehended the message. With a frustrated sigh, he commented, "Group D needs backup... Now is not a good time..."

"I-I could stay with Commandant, while you go..." Liv suggest, although she wasn't confident in this decision.

The two other construct heasitated.

"The location of Group D is by the port on the other side. If anything is happening here, we won't make it in time." Lucia said.

Your comms rung again, it was another backup request from another group. This time they need a support construct.

"This is annoying..." Lee mumbled.

The group went silent, trying to think of solutions. They can't just leave you behind when you were having a fever.

Your comms notification went off again alerting, and hurrying your constructs to make a decision. Thinking hard, Lucia was the first to speak up," Lee said help is on its way, we should stay here until they come."

Her teammates both nodded in agreement.

"Whoever is coming, I hope they will be here soon," Lucia said.

"Well, you are just in luck, Lucia," Lee said as he point at the distance. Still foggy from the downpours, the Grey Ravens were able to make out a silhouette running towards them.

"A medic?" Liv asked.

As the figure approached. The group finally saw who had arrived. Drench in rain, water droplets dropped from his blond hair to his synthetic skin. Chrome came at the right time.

Catching his breath, he places the silver case, which he has been carrying the whole time, on the ground. Kneeling by your side he asked, "How's Commandant?"

"Fever is running high, Commandant has experience a few cold seizures. I have been able to keep the fever in check," Liv reported.

She, along with Chrome's help, moved you away from her lap to the ground. "Do you have any medicine at hand?" She asked Archlight.

Responding with a nod, Chrome went to the silver case and opened it. He took out his neatly folded white overcoat and underneath were medical supplies. Taking out a few bottles of pills, he let Liv inspect them. "Which one do you need? I got your call and hurried my way here. Wanshi couldn't come because he's got a hand full on our end."

"Looks like everyone is stretched tight for this operation," Lee said and got his gun ready, "Since Strike Hawk is here, I am more relief to leave Commandant."

Lucia nodded, "Chrome, do you mind taking care of Commandant while we are gone?"

"Noted," Chrome nodded, "I will send our coordinates to the base camp, so the reinforcements can come to pick us up."

"You have our many thanks," Lucia said. She then turned to you, still weak, as Liv held you up so, Chrome can give you the medication.

"Commandant, please be safe. We will be back," Lucia said and followed Lee to the port.

Carefully, Chrome held the bottle of water against your lip as you drank. After swallowing the pill, both Liv and Chrome placed you back down on the ground.

"As soon as the clothes are dry, put them on Commandant to prevent hypothermia. The most important thing is to keep the chest area warm," Liv instructed, "The medication lasts for about two hours, so please remember to give Commandant another dose then."

"Same dosage?" Chrome asked diligently.

"Yes, this medication tends to be drowsy. So don't overdose." Liv got the other bottle and continued, "These can also work as pain killers, if Commandant is in any pain you can also use these."

"Noted."

Liv gave an assured smile and nodded, "Thank you for doing this, I will be off now."

"Rest assured. I will take care of Commandant." Chrome promised. He watched as Liv ran in the other direction to help the other group.

Now alone with you, Chrome was confident to make sure you can survive out on this battlefield until the rescue team comes.

Resting your head on his lap, he grabbed his white overcoat, since he place it in the briefcase, the clothing was nice and dry. He managed to wrap it around you as your body shivered.

The construct stayed still for a long while as you rest. Eyes diligently survey the surroundings for anything feasible danger, but so far, there was none.

For a moment, he got a little distracted and looked down at you, still lying asleep on his lap. He studied your face since it was the first time he saw you sleeping so peacefully. Your brows were, for once, not furrowed together and your hands weren't fisted tightly.

You slept without a care.

As much as Chrome wanted to let you sleep, he checked the time before his hand gently hover above your face. He remains stoic and quiet. Thinking hard to himself. Staying in this position for a while, he let out a small breath and moved his hand to your shoulder, poking you lightly.

You did not stir.

He poked a little harder.

No reaction.

He tapped on your shoulder harder and you woke.

"Hmmm..." you let out a protest. Your head felt light as you slowly got up.

Groggily looking around, you notice Chrome next to you. Wiping the sleep away from your face, your vision cleared with Archlight in front of you, holding a water bottle and a little pink pill in his other hand.

Confused you looked at Chrome, but he spoke before you could ask him what was going on.

"Oh good you are awake, it's time to take your medicine," he said.

"Medicine?" you asked.

"Do you not know what happened?" Chrome asked.

You shook your head, head still feeling terrible, but it felt much better than before.

"My head hurts... Where are the others?" you asked. As Chrome gestures insisted, you took the pill, popped it in your mouth, and took a swig from the bottle of water.

"They currently placed in different stations as a backup. I am tasked to supervise you before the reinforcements come." Chrome explained.

No matter how thorough his explain was, you didn't quite hear him. Your mind wandering with disoriented thoughts. Your face, still flushed with fever, you spoke, "I got to find them..."

Stubbornly, you fought the fatigue and were about to stand up when Chrome quickly grabbed you and pulled you back down, "Commandant, wait! You are still sick, it is best to stay here and recover than engage in battle."

"I will be fine... I did this before..." you protested.

"No, it's too dangerous." Chrome argued, struggling to pull you back by the arm.

Your brows furrowed, annoyed by the construct's actions. Seeing how much you insisted on leaving, Chrome had no choice but to wrap his arms around you and pull you back down with him.

"Forgive me Commandant, but I must keep you safe," he said sternly. He held you tight as you wiggled about.

Only, for your movements began to slow down. Your protest grew weak and before you know it, you let out a big yawn.

"See?" Chrome spoke softly, "Please take a rest, Commandant."

"..." you went quiet and gave your current situation a thought. You couldn't argue that your eyelids were feeling heavy. Your head was still pounding, and your body was screaming for you to let it take adequate rest.

"...fine, I guess I could take this opportunity to "slack off", like how everyone has been telling me to." you made a dissatisfied look. Looking up, your eyes met with Chrome's, "Just wake me up ten minutes before the reinforcements arrive."

With that, you lay your head against Chrome's chest. Following the rhythm of his breathing; you know it's artificial but you never paid mind. Slowly, you drifted off to your very much-needed slumber. Naturally, you snuggled close to Chrome, finding comfort from his arms holding on to you. somewhat also acting as a mattress or the alike.

This left Archlight in a rather troubling position. What would he suppose to do if he needs to move? Should he wake you up when you are supposed to stay asleep? However, he thought that maybe this isn't so bad.

"Really...what must it take for you to get some rest? " He lets out a defeat sign with a smile. He doesn't mind being your bed, if it means for you to recover and get some rest.

Regardless, shifting his arms securely around you, he adjust his coat to make sure you were warm enough before returning his gaze to survey the area.

Author's notes

As I wrote this, I was thinking should I go for a sick fic or a sleep fic. Then I thought, why not both?

Tbh, I actually haven't done Echos Aria yet. (I also didn't get S Chrome) :/

Maybe, I might get to it in the future.

Hello! Hope I'm not late for this sweet winter request!

Since it's December and it's a whole winter season storm going around, maybe a oneshot with Wanshi where it's just.. Sleeping and cuddling through the season together? Maybe paired with work that are supposed to be done before new year?

Sleep is Not for the Weak…

Hello! Hope I'm Not Late For This Sweet Winter Request!

Wanshi x Commandant/reader

Summary:

Having just recovered from a small amnesia, you have to finish up your report before the end of the year arrives. You decided to ask Wanshi for help.

Hello! Hope I'm Not Late For This Sweet Winter Request!

Tags: request, fluff, one-shot, sleep fic

"Hey, Wanshi," Kamui asked, "why can't you join us for our simulation drill?"

Wanshi was currently laying down comfortably on the sofa. Hogging all the cushions, Hypnos shifted his position. He ignored Kamui's question and remained artificially asleep.

"Hey, Wanshi~ how come you don't wanna join us today?" Kamui continued, " Didn’t Capt say dill training is a must?'."

No one wants to deal with Kamui when he nags. Wanshi, no matter how much of a sleeping expert, couldn’t tolerate it. With his eyes still closed shut, he replied, "I am busy."

The answer came out in a simple sentence, no further explanation was given. Confused yet unsatisfied, Kamui complained, “But all you do is sleep,” He pouted, “Man, I wish Capt. could let me off the hook that easily.”

“If you want me to be more lenient, then you should work harder,” Chrome said.

“Captain!?” Kamui jumped up.

Chrome was standing behind the sofa, “Besides, Wanshi is busy today, that’s why I excused him from our weekly simulation drill.”

On cue, Wanshi shifted. He stretch his limbs, yawning to show he was finally awake. “Well, I guess it’s time for me to go…” he spoke monotonously.

Getting up from the sofa, Wanshi give his limb another stretch, Chrome nodded and said, “Do offer my greetings to Grey Raven’s Commandant for me, Wanshi.”

“Wha-! No fair, how come Wanshi gets to hang out with the Grey Ravens!” Kamui protested.

“Kamui! Stop it!” Chrome scolded.

The door to Strike Hawk’s common room slid open as Wanshi exited, leaving his other two teammate bickering with each other. When the door closes, silence was welcomed. Without anything else in his mind, Wanshi made his way to your room. Giving the door a few knocks. He heard you said, “Come in.”

“Commandant, you are looking for me?” He spoke.

A commandant’s room usually are quiet spacious with ample of space to do workouts or another activities one wishes. However, your room was rather on the small side. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Your room just feels cozy and warm.

There, he saw stacks of paperwork, presumably mission reports, on top on your desk scattered messily. You, on the other hand, look a little disheveled. Still wearing your lounge wear, you hastily threw your military jacket on to remain professional.

“Thanks for coming, Wanshi.” You said and quickly grabbed another chair for him to sit down.

“…” In thought, Hypnos studied you and the state of your work load.

“I thought you were on leave,” he questioned, “Didn’t you just recovered from memory loss?”

You stopped what you were doing and looked back at Wanshi. Your thoughts felt complex, with juxtaposing emotions, you held a bitter smile. Slightly embarrassed, you fiddle with your pen before replying, “… well… I am a little behind in terms of work. I am struggling to remember what happened in all these mission files.” You place a hand on your forehead, “my memory is still a bit fragmented. I have been calling people over to help fill in the gaps.”

With a desperate sighed you continued, “My time in the medical ward, has delayed my progress on these report. If I don’t hand them in to the Ministry of War by the end of the year…” you stopped for you don’t want to know what will happen to you.

“I get it,” Wanshi yawned, “I’ll help you.” His tone was nonchalant, but you knew he means it.

Your tired eye lit up from his offer, immediately you both set off to work.

The whole time Wanshi sat next to you, you typed away in your report. He offered pointers and help fill in details that you missed. At one point, you couldn’t remember a portion of an event. Your brows furrowed together, thinking long and hard however, you still couldn’t recall the memory, “… I don’t remember what happened then. Didn’t we met the an android in an underground city or something? Or did we found a simulation projector?”

“… I didn’t get dispatched to a mission like that.” Wanshi replied.

He continued, “I was with the Grey Ravens for a bit at the south exit. I manage to clear a bunch of corrupted guarding around it. Needless to say, it’s a fairly easy job.” You began to type down what Wanshi said as he continue with his account, “The corrupted was nothing out of the ordinary, just a little slower in movements… To be honest, I don’t know much after that. Until the Grey Ravens arrived.”

Wanshi yawned, and you followed. Eyes feeling a little sleeping from your fatigue.

“Captain didn’t look to happy with me though,” Wanshi added, his account started to become daydream-like, bring you into a dreamy trance. He stretched his arms and lean down on the table, “… The grey ravens said something about Kamui being stupid…”

“…Stupid?” You questioned.

“Something about breaking formation and wrecking the powerhouse or something…” Wanshi blinked slowly.

Another yawn escaped your lips. Resting your head on your hand, you began to slouch and typed slowly with one hand.

“Does that ring a bell for you?” Wanshi asked.

Staring at the screen you didn’t reply, for it’s a tiring job to speak. So, shook your head. Eyelids heavy as you continued to listen to Wanshi talk. The nature of his voice is soft and quiet with a monotonous vibration. It easily became background noise to you as you continued to worked on your report.

It took a while for you to notice you were writing in circles, endlessly putting words on the document without reaching a point. Re-reading what you wrote it felt that Wanshi’s account was just as fragmented as your memory.

Your brows furrowed as you re-read everything until you felt a jolt from your table. You jumped to see Wanshi snap awake. He head looked around for a few second. He had been dozing off on your table; while almost falling off from it.

Quickly, he readjust himself. Bring an arm up, he rested his head on his hand, expression looks uninterested.

Although he promised to help you his self-serving attitude soon took overwhelmed him. The more tired he felt, the more his mind wander to your bed.

“What was the stupid part about again?” You asked.

“Something about breaking formation… and about endangering you, Your constructs were to leave first. Kamui was with you.”

Wanshi sat as you typed away. He gave a little yawn and spoke, “ You know, you don’t have to hand it in right before the year’s end, right?”

You stopped and looked at him puzzled.

He continued, “In general, when you hand in a report to any ministry, it just sit there for months because they have a lot of other reports to go through. This is why Celica hates writing waivers, because it takes a long time to get a response back.”

Getting up, Wanshi made his way towards you and said, “Commandant, I am tried. Let’s just call it a day.”

“I can’t,” you protested, “There’s still a lot of work to do- HEY!?” You yelled. The constructed at his point, had ignored you and slipped into your bed.

“Wanshi, you can’t sleep here!” You said.

“Hmm……” he only hummed in response.

Your frustration was bubbling, however, the more you look at Wanshi, you figured he will never budge. You sighed and slumped back to you chair. Head falling backwards, you looked up at the ceiling. It was just a blank grey space, but something about it makes it look more interesting than the mission report on your screen.

Suddenly, you felt an arm snake around your waist. It happened so fast, the next thing you know, Wanshi has hoist you up by his hip with one arm; like he was carrying a log.

Nonchalantly heading towards the bed, he yawned. “Wait! What are you doing!?” You wiggled about.

“…I am a medic in some way… I am just prioritising your well-being” He reply.

Practically, he toss you in bed before he, himself, slipped in and began to doze off.

“… the repor-”

“When humans don’t get sufficient sleep, the poorer their memory will be. You just recovered from memory loss, right?” Wanshi spoke as he remains asleep.

The room went quiet after that. Half of you was worried about your condition. The other half, you hate to admitted it, wants to just take it easy and give it a rest.

Without a word you doze off and drifted into sleep.

Temperature lowered and entering in deep sleep, Wanshi opened his eyes. He looked at you to make sure you were indeed fast asleep. Carefully, he got out of bed and went towards your computer. The file for the mission report was still up. Without a word, Hypnos began typing away. It took him a good half an hour to fill in all the necessary details.

Without a word, he returns back to the bed and continue his slumber.

**************

“What time is it?” You woke up groggily.

“Morning, afternoon, night… either of those three…” Wanshi answered, with his eyes still shut.

Author’s notes:

First Wanshi fic!

I feel shamed that I haven’t got to Echos Aria. ;w; So, if the characterisation is a little wonky, I do apologise. I am just writing about hi based on his interlude and Affection Lvl.

BTW, if you are wondering which mission Wanshi is referring to, it’s the other one-shot I wrote: In Kamui, We Trust.

CASE RESOLVED

[Dismissed]

***************************************

Standing by a section in the library, you kept your head down as you read the content from the book in your hand. The small whispers behind you had caught your attention for quite some time now.

The gossip and jealous snickering followed you around since you entered your third year in F.O.S Military Command College. During last year’s exam season, your score ranking shot through the top, subsequently taking the spot of “Top Graduate”.

This surprised you greatly, your friends and family all were happy for you. At the same time, this resulted in the inevitable animosity and jealousy of a few classmates around you. Which, in your perspective, you don’t see the reason behind it, other than the rumored new Commandant and Construct team from Babylonia : Grey Raven. News spread through the college like wildfire, a position, that a lot of students in the F. O. S aspire to achieve.

An elite teams comes with an excellent candidate. One has to be perfect. Thus, all eyes were on you, the perfect candidate.

Yet, you are not.

You still make marginal errors. You still need help from time to time. You are just a human like everyone else.

One by one, you picked up the books from the shelves, and went to the automatic scanner to check the materials out. The library was a good place to study, but nowadays you couldn’t help but feel a little isolated by your peers.

However, being liked wasn’t your top priority right now. Your military training was soon coming to an end. After handing in your thesis, exam season came in full swing. It was test after test, and given the timetable of exams, there was a small gap between the lesser exams and the grand final.

Last week, there was a mock final. Much to your dismay, your score made you felt like you were falling short. Were you too proud of yourself? Did you not study enough? Or was you at your best during that day?

Others chose to take a break from the gap, you on the other hand, didn’t want to stop. You need to work harder. Walking out of the campus building, you made your way towards the lecture building, where in one of designated classrooms, your senior, an alumni of the F.O.S, Langston Smith was waiting.

His posture upright, his suit in pristine condition, Langston waited patiently for you to arrive at the designated time. From the window, he can see you jogging your way towards the lecture hall, carrying a number of books from the library. Without a word, he opened the door for you to rush in.

Entering the lecture hall, you tried to catch your breath. The books were hastily placed on one of the desks. It scattered out a little from the friction, and Langston peered over to see which books you got. Involuntarily, his lips curved a little upwards. His heart filled with happiness and pride. He was proud that you managed to get all the necessary study materials he told you to get.

“Just right on time.” He said with a cool yet gentle voice. His attitude should have remained stern, like the Great Commandant of Strike Hawk of Babylonia, Langston Smith. However, with you, he couldn’t help it. He didn’t want to be this cold and demanding Langston Smith.

He wanted to be the reliable, earnest and diligent alumni of perfection. With you, he is not Commandant Smith, nor is he the ‘pedigree’ Langston Smith. With you, he is Langston Smith, your senior.

Your senior, who wants the best for you and will do anything to make you perfect.

“So, shall we begin?” He asked.

You settle down and open your note taking device and other reading material. Diligently looking at your senior, you nodded.

Author's note:

Got ambitious with this one.

I just thought I it would be interesting to write human constructs.
