If you like Disco Elysium, give this game a try. No other video game is on the same level of writing as DE, but this is consistently pointed to as the one that comes closest.

They're very different genres, but the writing is top notch. It's got a similar blend of funny and serious, and your failures are as important to the game as your successes.

But also look up a spoiler-free guide if you can when building your character-- statting poorly can lock you out of some of the best writing and interactions in the game (it was made in the 90's they still hadn't really solved cRPGs as a genre yet).
