the pokemon teraleak is big news and even though i've only begun to scratch the surface i can tell there's an absolute ton of fun stuff to uncover in here (which I will gladly do). however. we also need to acknowledge the fact that this is a very bad thing. this isn't just some internal whistleblower throwing us a bone like we're used to. this was a malicious hack. we're only getting all this information because a game freak employee got phished. satoshi tajiri himself has come out and stated that the personal information of more than 2600 game freak employees was compromised in the attack. what happened here should not have happened and we should hope that it doesn't again, for the personal safety of those involved.

EXACTLYYY that's why nearly every time I draw his oras ver, I give him fluffy hair. altho I haven't drawn him in a while other than gawking over his catastrophically massive forehead

It’s a shame that typhlosion is going to become the victim of really unfunny s*xual jokes with in the Pokémon fanbase that people just aren’t going to let go of. But you must be wondering…how do I know this?
I’ve seen it before, there are many other Pokémon that can be good expamples but these two especially are big ones, among some other furry/humanoid Pokémon.
And as much as that makes me really uncomfortable, I am not going to let that affect how I feel about typhlosion. I recommend to not let these type of horrid jokes art, or whatever, affect how you feel about a certain Pokémon, especially if it’s one you’re very passionate about. As someone who’s a huge fan of a lot of furry/human like Pokémon and am a furry myself, I’ve seen this type of song and dance so many times over the years and even formerly had ties with artists that drew those Pokémon in a certain way (many of those artists I knew as a minor and they were very toxic people, but I’ve cut them off when I began to be more aware of how bad they were, but that’s a whole other story)
Of course I understand the stuff that was revealed about typhlosion is disturbing, and it’s okay to feel disturbed about it, but personally, I’m not letting this ruin the fact that typhlosion is one of my favorite fire type starters. Though I feel like a big reason why I am not letting this phase me much is mostly due to me not being very active within the Pokémon fanbase itself since 2019-2020 due to how awful the discourse regarding newer games was and still is to an extent, which thankfully isn’t very common in tumblr from what I’ve seen.
i have this friend who talks to great lengths about pokemon lore and how there's this strangely consistent religion flowing through it
arceus and certain other legendaries being "instances", or as i've learned the word for, "emanations" or "aeon"
i could never reach the point they could because pokemon being an annual series means that game freak wouldn't have been able to flesh it out entirely
with today's giga leak however we get this created by junichi masuda himself
and it's fucking real ?
