Brief explanation: Dogday considered to be most trusted by workers because he never showed violence or aggression and cooperates without problem. With good reasoning skills, he sometimes is tasked with helping other toys.
His Human Aggression and Social Behaviours Index (HASBI) scored most tame within the categories towards adults, teens and children. Dogday started to get detained because of verbal outbursts (he is getting fed up over the years). While Mommy? Mocks him that "man's best friend" is being chained to a leash after all these years of obedience.
He and Mommy have a weirdly neutral relationship. It started out violent and most negative jabs are intiated by Mommy as she didn't appreciate that he sucks up to company and human adults.
Nothing to know AU
A smiling critters alternate universe where Dogday is forcibly made into a hound whenever the critters become self-aware of their true selves. To retain order for the seasons to go on.
Catnap, being the second and most 'reseted' character— Theodore refuses to let Catnap forget what has been done.
Into the seasons Dogday is able to finds ways to control himself and keep others safe. Bubba was harmed yet never killed, the only one that truly understood the severity and so helps him while trying to find a way to escape.

It's supposed to be a thing where you know how when kids have birthday parties or something they bring in animals for that special occasion to entertain? Well uh in this basically the smiling critters are legit experimental animals. Not toys.Like actual animals that were made due experimentation.
They would often bring a specific requested smiling critter for the birthday kid of their favourite at first then after a certain time before the candle blowing out ceremony began all the smiling critters would be brought in to basically sing a happy birthday.
In this all the smiling critters mentally are obviously child like to fit in with the theme of being family friendly. But that doesn't stop them just like a kid being influenced maybe negatively.(Which spoiler alert what happened to CatNap in this AU)
Bare with me all their refs one by one will be made. It's like midnight please 😭.

He's very energetic and popular with the kids

He was a puppy before a few years before the "hour of Joy"
His favourite caretaker is Y/N (angel)
He absolutely adores any sort of affection.
Loves bones.
He often salivates when he's really excited (just like a dog)
Very loyal to Y/N, will absolutely protect them despite his size.

Au explanation:
In this the smiling critters were made not as toys but as actual experimented animals with a conscious transfer with selected candidates. How the factory selected the unfortunate was by secretly observing them through playing,every day life at the orphanage and tests(could be personality too).
These all determined which orphan specifically would match the certain Critter mascot they can merge their consciousness with an actual animal body.(Of course they all start out with younger bodies.) The scientists have to train the critters in their spare time to behave well and fulfil their duties.
They at first were used as a special party birthday mascots before when they were a bit older handing them out proper care duties.

It is reported how his mother gave him away to the orphanage as she was unable to take care of him anymore due to financial difficulties
Despite this, I have been observing him from a far as being really sociable and gentle with the other children.
It's astonishing to see him act this way considering the possible traumatic stress he had to undergo through before.
Additional notes:
He is left handed.
Often seems rather clingy.. could be due to abandonment issues(?)
He keeps asking when he can see his mother again, on top of that asking how she's doing.
He has iron deficiency which often explains why his legs feel numb and unreactive sometimes.
We put him on medication though.(See previous point above)

Notes:
He was originally brought in to the orphanage due to both of his parents ended up passing away in a car crash accident.
Not much is known about his background but what is known, is that his parents were strong Christian believers.
Observing from a far he is really quiet. He doesn't usually interact with the rest of the kids maybe with the exception of Sam Neve and ..1006
They both seem to be close.(? Exploitation weakness)
He doesn't trust our department.. perhaps he knows too much already.(Poseable threat?)
Additional Notes:
Right handed
Him and 1006 interactions are interesting to study from a far..but yet also quite concerning at the same time.
We do not want for this relationship to continue any further so actions will have to be taken in a day or so.
He seems to be wearing a silver crufix necklace underneath his shirt at all times.
This could suggest his struggles with grief, understandably.Often ends up sleeping in on entire days.
However we had made him go to school counseling therapy.
He hates the therapy.(See previous point above) Continue with the treatment until phase 2.
