Melting Ice - Aemond Targaryen X Reader

You crawl through your stuff. You've been back in Red Keep for a week, but your belongings are not all unpacked jet.

The hot summer air radiate through the stones of your new home and you whipe away a few drops of sweat from your brows. You miss the light briese that always go through your cambers in  Casterly Rock. The heat in Kings Landing is muggy and brings the stank from the city and not the fresh air of the sea. But you're gonna have to get used to it.

It's unlikely you'll ever see your home again. Not once you're married. This is the fate of thousands of Ladies in the seven Kingdomes . You all get shipped of to marry and never come back home.

For your betrothed you are a burden. You're back here for a week and maybe you exchanged two sentences with the prince. He was in no way rude, but neither was he really warm. You got the feeling it was more of a inconvenient for him than anything else. He doesn´t want to spend any minute with you. He ignored your invitations to go for a walk or for a afternoon tea.

You sigh. At least you won't marry a man who could be your father or grandfather. No, you're the future bride of Aemond Targaryen. Prince of the Seven Kingdoms. Maybe you have luck with your husbands age. And you will become a princess. That's the dream of thousands of young ladies, and you can live it. From the outside it sounds perfect. Like a song.

The reality is different.

In reality, you are a pawn in the game of power, securing the loyalty and armies of your family for the Targaryens.

This marriage is a reward for years of service from your family.

Instead he dumped you on his sister. Helaena, a sweet girl who is fixated on insects and with her thoughts everywhere except in the here and now. But she was the only one that makes you feel you are welcome here. She was the one who showed you around and invited you to tea, go on picnics, walk in the gardens or do handicrafts. She also introduced you to her twins. Sweet children that you can't keep apart yet.

The Queen only gave you a cold smile and explained her wedding preparations to you, she didn´t ask for you opinion of your wedding. But you think that´s the way your life is from now on.

Aegon, your future brother in law is an arrogant prince who likes to drink and spend his time with whores. Not one nice word comes over his lip just a rude remark about your appearance as the whole family greets you after your arrival.

You close your eyes, take a deep breath and rub your temple to get rid of the slight headache.

At Casterly Rock you felt trapped. A golden cage guarded by lions. Your cage is still there, only now you're being guarded by dragons.

And for a little while you had hope. When you were younger, you went to King's Landing with your mother to get to know your future husband. He was a sweet, almos shy boy, with a kind smile who had discussed history with you for hours or dance with you at a picnic. You thought your stupid girls dreams were coming true.

Is this your life now? Lonely and alone surrounded by strangers?

This is not how you imagined it all. You've known half your life that you would be Aemond's wife. The betrothal was make when you were just a little girl. And of course you were excited to become a princess. Your stupid little girl dreams were full of romance, love and your knightly prince with blonde hair.

But now there is nothing left of the boy from your memories.

Will your marriage be like this? Married to a stranger?

Aemond Targaryen had grown into a cold man who had an almost dangerous aura around him and observed everything with an arrogant distance.

The sweet smile you remembered is gone. You're sure he hasn't smiled in years.

You put a few of your writing utensils on your desk. Your thoughts go to the letters you wrote to Ameond over the years, but one day he just stopped answering you. Did you do something wrong?

Was this marriage doomed to failure from the beginning?

You sigh again and try to push your thoughts from the past away.

It had been a sunny day that slowly turned into a beautiful evening. The setting sun is still shining in your window. You've already had your dinner with your mother and now there's nothing left for you to do. But you are restless. The thoughts of your future life do not allow you to find peace. Gods you are a Lannister from Casterly Rock. A lion! And not a decorative piece that gets ignored and sidelined. Aemond shows no interest in you and you want to know why. The question of what you did wrong haunts you. In your home you were always surrounded by friends, the lords who visited your family praised your kindness and your beauty. You enjoy reading and you are sure that you are a pleasant conversation partner. However, your future husband seems to prefer to ignore you.

You feel lonely. As lonely as you've never been in your life.

No! Your life won't be like that! You refuse to accept this. If Aemond wants to ignore you, he has to give you a good reason for it.

You straighten your back and smooth down your skirts. With quick steps you reach the door and leave your chambers.

"My lady, where do you intent to go?" the guard at your door asks.

"I'm visiting my betrothed." you answer without stopping. The guard follows right behind you.

"You have been instructed not to leave your chambers alone."

"I am not alone. You are with me."

"But my lady..."

"Enough." you just interrupt him. You definitely won't let him change your mind. You will talk to Aemond! But after a few steps you stop. You don't know where the prince's chambers are. You turn slightly to face the guard.

"Where are the prince's chambers?" you ask.

"I must ask you to return to your chambers."

You grimace. "You swore to serve House Targaryen Correct?"

"Yes my lady."

"In a fortnight I will be a Princess of House Targaryen. So you also swore to serve me."

"But my lady.."

"Please."

The guard shifts from one foot to the other and shakes his head slightly. "I have instructions..."

"Fine. Don't help me, I'll just find the way on my own. I hope you're willing to follow me through the Red Keep all night." You turn around sharply to continue walking.

"The other way. Here." you hear after a few steps behind you. You turn around again and look in the direction the guard points .

You give him a smile. "Thank you very much."

You follow his directions and a short time later you find yourself in front of the prince's chambers. You take a deep breath and then knock firmly on the door. It takes a moment and you are invited in. As you attempt to open the door, your guard takes a few steps forward to follow you. "I want to talk to him alone."

"My lady it is inappropriate, you need a chaperone."

"Do you doubt your prince's honor?"

"Of course not!"

"So."

"But my Lady..."

You sigh. "I know I'm not making your job easy today, but I promise to do better. Just not today. I just want one private conversation with the prince. Please."

Now it's his turn to sigh. "I'll wait outside the door. Right infront the door."

"Of course. Thank you." You open the door and enter the prince's chambers. Aemond is sitting on one of the sofas, there is a cup of wine on the table next to him and there is an old book on his lap whose title you can't see. When he sees you he stands up surprised.

"My Lady." he says confused. You close the door behind you and curtsy slightly. You hope he doesn't insist that you curtsy every time you see him after your wedding, but that's not the topic of tonight. Tonight you want an answer.

“Is something troubeling you?” He sounds cold and not really interested, but you push aside the nagging feeling of insecurity. Maybe that was a bad idea after all? But you're here now. Now there is no turning back.

"Yes, something is bothering me." you answer. You are a lion of Casterly Rock. Hear Me Roar! these are your words. And you will show this dragon that you cannot be ignored. Aemond looks at you with a cold expression.

"How can I help you?" he asks annoyed. He's making it clear to you that he doesn't want you here. But you just ignore that. He ignores you, so you can ignore his wishes. You take a deep breath and straight yourself up. You make yourself taller than you are and scrape up all your self-confidence together.

"You do not like me." you say. Aemond's expression changes just for a second, then he wears his cold mask again. You hold his gaze.

"I do not know you." he then says. The bored tone makes you angry.

"And that's your fault." you throw at him. The prince rolls his eye.

"Did you come here to insulte me?"

You bite your lip. "No." you say quietly. "I want to know why you don't like me. I want to know what I did wrong."

Aemond's gaze goes over you. Then he turns to the side, reaches for his wine cup and drinks it. Then he takes the jug and refills his cup and fills a second one.

"Sit with me please." he says, pointing to the seat next to him. You take the steps to the couch and sit down. The pillows are soft, but you still sit straight and ignore the cup of wine in front of you. You suppress the urge to shift back and forth.

"So?" you press.

"You have done nothing wrong."

"Then why have you been ignoring me since I got here?"

"If you wouldn't interrupt me." he says in a strained voice.

You bite your lip again. "I'm sorry."

"Like I said, you didn't do anything wrong. I thought you'd prefer to have time for yourself."

"I had enough time for myself. I'm all alone here. And I would like to know my betrothed before I have to marry him. But you don't even give me the chance to get to know you. You disappear all day long. I don't know anything about you. The only information I get are the gossip from the servants." You feel tears welling up in your eyes, but you quickly blink them away. Aemond's jaw tenses with your words. But you're not quite finished yet. "I don't understand why. We used to write letters to each other and then you stopped replying. And since I've been here you have continued to ignore me. So give me a good reason!"

"I have give you my reasons." he says but doesn´t meet your eyes.

"No. That wasn't a good reason." you insist. That can not be it. Because he thought you needed time for yourself? Nonsense! There has to be another reason. Your thoughts are racing and before you can stop yourself you start talking again.

"Do you think I'm stupid? Not a pleasant conversation partner? Not worthy of your attention? What is it?"

"No of course not."

"Don't you think I'm pretty?"

"Oh please, you're beautiful." he says, sounding a little annoyed.

"So what's your problem?"

"There's no problem. It's just.." he interrupts himself and then takes a deep breath. "You must be very disappointed with this engagement." "With your behavior. Yes, I tried to explain this to you."

"No. Not with that. With the engagement to me. With a disabled prince."

You stare at him, stunned, for a few moments. "What?"

"Don't play dumb. You're beautiful, you probably had hundreds of requests for your hand in marriage."

"The two of us have been engaged since we were children. That's well known."

"Won't change the fact that you have a lot of admirers. Am I wrong?"

You furrow your eyebrows. Yes, of course, many men have given you compliments and little gifts and begged for your attention, but that's normal. You come from a rich, powerful family. You were never really interested in any of that. Why should you? You were already engaged. You had your dream prince. Until he stopped being a dream prince. Before you can answer Aemond talks again.

"I can imagine how embarrassing it is for you to have to marry a disabled prince."

"A disabled prince?"

"Aemond one eye. I know what people call me."

"And why do you think I care?"

He laughs joylessly. "Of course you care."

Anger rises within you again. "You judge me? Without knowing me? How dare you?"

You jump to your feet. Aemond winces. He probably didn't expect this reaction. You start pacing back and forth in front of him. "You think I'm unhappy with our engagement because you're missing an eye?You disappoint me."

"Everyone thinks that. You must be devastated. All your admirers and you are stuck with me."

"I´m not stuck with you. I was happy to be engaged to you. Until you turned out to be a complete idiot." you stop infront of him and glare at him.

"Remember who you talk to."

"I'm talking to the man I'm going to marry. Who obviously already made up his mind. Without knowing me. That's cruel."

Aemond is silent for a moment. "You don't know what you're talking about."

"Then tell me. Tell me anything, no matter what. But we can't do it like this. We can't live like this. We can't ignore each other our whole lives. Or is that what you want?" you ask, realizing you sound desperate.

"No of course not." his voice is no longer annoyed, he sounds more tired. You get on your knees in front of him to be at the same eye level again. You hesitate for a moment but then place your hands on his knees. His eyes examine you carefully, but you don't avoid his gaze.

"So where did that sweet boy I met back then go?"

"That sweet boy you were talking about lost his eye and no one cared." his jaw tenses again.

"I wrote you letters. I asked you how you were doing. How you felt. You didn't answer."

"I didn't read it. I thought you were just writing it out of obligation."

"You could have ask me." you say.

"I guess I underestimated you."

"Yes, perhaps."

"I shouldn't have assumed something about you."

"No you shouldn´t." you agree with him.

Aemond takes your hand. "I shouldn't have ignored you. I should have gotten to know you."

"You can do better now."

"I will." he says. "Promise."

You smilie at him. The conversation went better than you could ever imagined.

"And I will start right away." he then says. You look at him confused. Aemond takes a deep breath and lets go of your hand. Slowly his hands go to the back of his head and undoes the buckle of his eye patch. The leather slides carefully from his eye. The blue sapphire sparkles at you. The scar is always only half covered by the eye patch, but now without it, the scar is even more prominent.

You carefully raise your hand, but before you touch him you stop. "May I?" you whisper. He nods. You touch his cheek tenderly and caress it. "You're beautiful." You say. You see the slight blush on his cheek. A smile dances around his lips.

"Thank you." he places his hand over yours and carefully removes it from his cheek. He kisses your knuckles.

"I just say the truth." Now it's a real smile at Aemonds face.

You straighten up and come back to your feet again. You take a deep breath to bring yourself back into the here and now.

"It's late. I should go back to my chambers."

"Yes. Would you like me to accompany you?"

"That won't be necessary. My guard is right outside the door." you nod towards the door with a smile. Aemond raises an eyebrow, but you don't explain further.

"What do you think about accompanying me to Vhagar tomorrow?"

"To your dragon?"

"Yes."

Nervousness and excitement rise within you. "I would like that very much." you answer and the smile dances around his lips again.

Aemond leaves the eye patch on the table as he walks you to the door. He opens it and your guard half stumbles into the room. He must have leaned against the door.

"My prince." he says and bows. You suppress a laugh. He really was right outside the door.

"I trust you to get my betrothed back to her chambers safely ."

"Of course my prince." the guard stutters.

"Sleep well my lady." Aemond now turns to you. He kisses your hand and this time the blush rises in your cheeks.

"Sleep well my Prince." You say.

You turn away and make your way back to your chambers. Your guard right behind you and you can even find the way without his help. You are hopeful about your marriage. Yes, a conversation doesn't solve all the problems, but it was a good start. It's not perfect yet but it's better. And maybe he and you can manage to have a peaceful marriage and maybe be happy with eachother.

Aemond Targaryen - Love of My Life

Warnings: Aegon obviously, slight mention of alcohol, allusions to sexual harassment and violence, allusions to nightmare and self inflicted wounds OTHERWISE FLUFF FLUFF AND FLUFF

SHE/HER PRONOUNS // 3rd PERSON VIEW

Summary: Aemond Targaryen didn’t seem like the loveliest person in Westeros but with Y/N, he would do anything to keep his betrothed happy and safe. He was the happiest with her, before and after marrying her.

**Valyrian translation after the imagine, below the --- line. Hope you enjoy and let me know your thoughts.**

Aemond Targaryen - Love Of My Life

Aemond Targaryen wasn’t kind to everyone. Especially to the ones who crossed him or even annoyed him.

Aemond Targaryen was only kind to a few people, including Y/N. She meant everything to the silver haired prince.

They both had met each other as children, as they both grew up in King’s Landing. Aemond had seen her for the first time reading a book in the castle’s library. As a child, it was Aemond’s peaceful place and it quickly became theirs. They would often meet after dinner, spend the night reading and talking about plenty of things. He was himself when he was with her. He loved the way she liked him as a person, not as a prince or as an arse. He loved the way she would tell him about everything, only because she trusted him. She would come to him if something was wrong and even as children, they would never lie to each other.

Many years of harmony passed until Aemond lost his eye. He became more distant even though Y/N wanted to be there for him. He wouldn’t let anyone in, at least he tried to let her in, but it was terrifying for him. Her seeing him so destroyed, tainted, as a monster. Yet Y/N did not see him as all those things, she came to his bedroom every so often, talk like they were children again and he would lose himself in her. He would become a child again, a happy one, a kind one. He would get drunk on the sound of her laughter, and he knew that he only wanted her in his life.

Two years after his eye was gone, his mother started to propose women to him, to get him to choose one of them. To make them his betrothed, but he only wanted her. He only wanted Y/N.

“Mother, I will not marry any of those girls.” He dropped on the Queen.

“And why is that, Aemond?” Because I only want Y/N, mother. I want her to be my wife. He urged to say it. He had to. And he did.

“I want to marry lady Y/N.”

His mother looked at him. He looked back at her, all seriousness in his eye. She nodded and walked away. The day after, his mother told him what he could marry her.

He was the happiest man in all Westeros.

The minute she had stepped into his room for their daily encounter, he ran to her and pulled her into his arms.

He spun her around in the air and she giggled loudly. His hands were spalled on her waist and hers tangled in his long hair.

He finally set her down on the ground, the height difference making its way back.

“What have you eaten to make you this happy, my dear Aemond? Have you had a new saddle for Vaghar or something?” She walked deeper into his room to sit on the velvet seat, her beautiful dress promoting her beautiful body.

“I have wonderful news. But I need you to hear me first, no talking.” She nodded as he approached her, kneeling before her.

She looked at him with big innocent eyes.

“We have known each other since we were children, and I have loved every single moment with you, my lady. Tis the day where I am asking you, with my family blessing, to marry me. I have loved you since I saw you in the library. When this,” he said, touching his patched eye, “happened, I closed myself to everyone but you did not let me shut you out. You stayed and I realised then that all I wanted, in my whole existence, was you. I only want you; you are the only one for me. I love you, and I’ll never stop. I swear on the gods. I love you. Would you do me the honor of becoming mine forever?” He exhaled softly; his hands went to grab a small box from his lapel.

He opened the small box before the woman he loved. Her gaze shifted from his face to the beautiful ring, impaled with a blue sapphire decorating it.

“Aemond… I-I…” She was speechless. The expression on her face was unreadable.

He tried to pull away, thinking he made a fool of himself but she pulled his face to meet hers halfway. Their lips joined into sweet harmony and he pulled himself even more into her. His hands roamed on her body, finding their way to the low of her back, her legs spreading to let Aemond get closer.

She pulled away from his lips, her hands on his strong face.

“Yes, I’ll marry you, Aemond. I’d marry you today, I’d have married you if we were children and I’d marry you again any day. I love you, Aemond Targaryen, I always have and I always will.”

His eye was glassy, a huge grin on his face appeared. He pulled one of his hands away, removing the ring from its box and placing around her ring finger. It was perfect.

She smiled so brightly, Aemond kissed her again. He was in heaven and he will always be if he’s with her.

Their wedding happened only weeks after the proposal and Aemond was the happiest with her. She was his and it was everything he ever dreamed of.

One night, a couple of years after their union, she was known as the untouchable wife. Yet someone in his family did not respect the “untouchable” aspect.

She was at a celebration, as were all of Aemond’s family. Music was filling up the room, the banquet was filled with too many people to count. But she could feel the presence of her dear husband behind her. They were both sitting at the main table, he grabbed her hand that landed on her thigh and kissed it, intertwining his fingers as well.

He pulled away, standing up, telling her he’ll be right back. Before he could pull back, she told him that she will go up directly to their room, it was late and she was tired. He nodded, offered her a sweet smile, and kissed her forehead sweetly.

As she made her way up, she was met with Aegon, his brother. Aegon was known for his sense, or his lack of sense, for the word “no”.

“Hello, wife. How dare you look so fine this evening!” He reeked of wine and many other beverages.

“Aegon, I am not your wife. Please go back to the venue, I’m sure there’s more women interested in you.” I desperately wanted him to go away.

“Mhm, must you have mistaken me, lady Y/N, yet I don’t like that attitude of yours.” He suddenly gripped her wrist tightly, and she tried to get out of his reach.

“Let go Aegon. Let. Me. Go. Now.” She ordered yet he pulled her flush to his chest and she hated every second of it. He breathed her in, and she pulled even harder to get out of his reach. He gripped her waist and before she knew it, she was pinned to a wall with both of her hands pressed behind her back, hitting the brick wall.

As he pressed himself even closer to her, she punched him between his legs and slapped him down on the ground before running away to her chambers.

Time passed before Aemond returned to their room. Y/N was asleep when he came into the room. Her peaceful form decorating the bed, her hair draping the pillow. He reached to her side, sitting besides her. He placed a sweet kiss on her forehead before reaching his side of the bed.

They were both sleeping in no time before Y/N was stirring up in her sleep. Aemond, like the light sleeper that he is, woke up in a second. She was whimpering in her sleep, her head snapping from sides to sides. She was clawing at her wrist, which Aemond tried to get her to stop.

“Jorrāelagon, wake up. Come on”, he clasped lightly at the hand that was clawing the other. “Y/N, wake up, come on, wake up.” He shook her slightly, sitting up in the bed.

She woke up and jolted up with small cry, she tried to pull away from him, as if he had hurt her.

“It’s alright, issa jorrāelagon, you’re alright. You're safe.” She realised that it wasn’t Aegon. It was only him. Only Aemond, the boy who she had loved for so long.

She melted into sobs when he pulled her in his arms, her legs pulled over his, one arm around her waist and the other one cradling her head. Her head and heavy sobs laid on his chest, his face resting by her head.

“Did you have a nightmare, dōna mirre?” She nodded weakly. Her sobs resuming. He praised her with sweet word in her ear, he cradled her in his arms, assuring her that she was safe.

Her sobs calmed down and she found peace in his heartbeat.

He looked down at the sight of her wife, he saddens at her gaze, his heart breaking because something is troubling her.

The hand that was cradling her head softly pulled at the wrist she was hurting in her sleep. He saw, even in the dim darkness, that there were marks, not of her nails, but of a tight embrace.

“Who did this to you, my love? When did this happen?” He questioned her softly, not wanting to startle her.

“I don’t want you to be mad.” She responded lightly.

He pulled her chin, making her look up at him.

“Love, I won’t be mad, I promise. I just want to know the truth.” He brushed her hair out of her face.

“It was Aegon. He was drunk, like always, but I was walking up to go to our room and he called me his wife, and he pulled my wrist,” She sniffled, Aemond felt her breath accelerate.

“Breathe my love, take your time.” He purred. Aemond was boiling on the inside but he could never be harsh on her.

“He pushed me to the wall, started to press himself against me, and I punched him away. I ran as fast as I could. I thought he was going to run after me, Aemond, I was so scared.” She truthfully told Aemond, her tears seeping his night shirt.

“Oh, dōna mirre, I’m sorry he’s done this to you. I’ll handle him in the morning, and I promise you he won’t ever touch you again, nobody will.” He caressed her hair, calming her down. He kissed the palm of her hand, trailing kisses down to her inflamed wrist. She calmed down, leaning into his touch.

Aemond pulled her down with him, to lay together in the bed.

“Everything is going to be just fine, darling. Rest in my arms, you’re safe.”

She turned to be faced with his chest. She looked up to his figure, some strands of glittery hair falling on his face.

“I love you, valzȳrys. Thank you for always being here for me.”

“No need to thank me, that’s what I’m here for. I love you." He whispered in her ear, pulling her against him, kissing her forehead and the rest of her face sweetly. She fell asleep in his arms, as she always did.

He’d deal with Aegon in the morning, and everything will be alright.

She’ll be alright. She was with Aemond after all.

“Ao sagon se jorrāelagon hen issa glaeson.” He pressed one last kiss on the ring that laid upon his wife’s finger and went into a peaceful sleep.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you like this imagine, I had a pleasure writing this. Here are the traduction in english for the Valyrian words.

Jorrāelagon: Love

issa jorrāelagon: my love

dōna mirre: sweet thing

valzȳrys: husband

"John! John!"

Lady Meraider shouted across the room as she interrupted her husband's meeting. Lord Meraider turned to face his wife with swift panic. Only to see a smile accompanied with tears. "What is it my love? Why are your emotions out of control?"

"Are they alright?!"

"Then what has happened?"

"I was talking with her Septa, about how her studies were going. And while we were talking y/n came into the room, all quiet as usual."

Lady Meraider gave way to tears again. Lord Meraider wiped her tears so she could continue.

"Y/N came in and decided she wanted a cuddle, it only lasted a minute or so before she left again, but Husband. She cuddled me of her own will!"

Especially since this was the third dance she had been jilted.

"Fools, all of them. They should be grateful I even invited them here."

"I know husband, I know."

Both parents sigh as they watched their daughter gracefully leave the dance floor without causing a scene.

• Reader waits with her cousins in line from oldest to youngest while the potential husband arrives

A great storm begins to brew as the Baratheon's wait for their guest. All wait with excited nerves and cautious brains. All but one, the one who is unaware of who the guest really is. The storm rumbles through the keep, shaking windows, and the inhabitants' hearts. With a crash of lightning, another sound of thunder echoed about, only this one was different. It shook fear into the patient inhabitants, causing a few to gasp and jump in their place. Non but one recognized the sound.

"What was that?"

"Sounded like a Demon, or some monster."

"Stop trying to scare your sister!"

"It was just thunder."

The sound echoed again, but this time ahead of the thunder. With the sound of nature accompanying the ferocious entity it made the sound it emitted lounder than before. The inhabitants of the keep looked to the ceiling as the metal fixtures shook with the terrifying sound.

"That's not thunder."

The fear inside the room grew in an immense measure. The suitor was here.

• Reader stood with her cousins, she was just as nervous but was better put together from a strangers eye view

• The cousins had taken a step back leaving Depressed!Reader to be front and center

• When the daughters notice the distance between them and their cousins, they try to pull her back to them only for the prince's voice to stop them in their tracks

"It appears I have been mislead. Should I translate this to you trying to deceive the crown?"

The prince's voice echoed through the grand hall. The lord of the keep scoffed.

"You think I would purposely offend the brother of the crown? My prince, please tell what has offended you so that I may correct it?"

The prince let's a hum vibrate from him. As if in deep thought, he looks to the young woman. They girls reach for the one closest to the one eyed prince. There was only four children of the lord, yet he was seeing five young woman. Unbeknownst to them he had remembered and recognized one of them. One he had missed for a time.

"I seem to recall you only having four daughters. Why do I see five young woman in my presence?"

The lord did his best to not laugh. It was a simple mistake. One that could have been avoided if his forerunner had done his job.

"My apologies, my prince. Let me clear up any confusion."

• The lord introduced each of his daughters from eldest to youngest, each one avoided eye contact with the prince

• When his eye settled on the one he remembered, he caught her eyes on him before she gave him a deep bow

• The prince watched her as she was introduced, she stirred something from within him

• The lord suggested a dinner to be held to welcome the prince and his decision

• The prince had decided he would make his decision before the end of the night despite the lord wanting him to know the young lady's

"I will marry the sweetest one." Announced the prince as he removed himself from the dinner chair

• The lady's lined up, ready to wish the prince good rest, they were confused as the prince lingered

• The prince and lord shared a look as if to know what the other intended to do

"Just a kiss is all I ask, just one from each of you. I only ask for the sweetest one to be my wife." The prince stated before approaching the daughter closest to him. Each one shocked by the searching kiss from the prince. Each squeak from his daughters made the Lord worried and fearful. Worried for how his daughters will feel after the invasive proposition and fearful of the prince being displeased.

• When the prince kissed the reader, her whimper was the lowest in noise, nearly nonexistent compared to her cousins

• Their kiss lasted the longest, and the prince allowed his lips to move along

• Not to mention, he continued the kiss after the reader layed her hand on his forearm, he had immediately removed himself when one of her cousins had touched him

• The prince detached himself with a hum watching a readers eyes fluttered open

After a pause of watching the prince hold and stare down his niece, the lord spoke. "Has a decision been made, my prince? Have my daughters or niece met your standards?" Again the prince hummed, this time from deep within his throat. "Sweet." Was all the prince had said before exiting the dining hall.

Very self-indulgent this is. Thinking about fleshing this out into a full story. Depending on how motivated I am, this may or may not happen. Will most likely turn into an oc x Aemond instead of an x reader.

Depressed!Reader x Aemond Targareyn II

Part one Part three

• Reader being kept up all night thinking about her kiss with the prince, it wasn't there first kiss but was the first kiss that felt real

• Reader finally falling asleep to what they thought was thunder but is really Vagnar purring

• Prince Aemond wanting to breakfast with reader in private, him having to settle for only a few hours alone with them

"I can not in good faith leave you alone with her. She may be my blood but I have no say over her."

"Her parents sent in hopes of her to be betrothed, no? And you're telling me I can't eat alone with my wife."

"She is not your wife yet."

The lords angry statement led him into a glare off with the prince. A position one would never want to be in. 'Glaring at a prince.' The lord thought. 'I could be killed and no one would bat an eye.' Thankfully the lord saw reason and looked away from the prince. With a sigh the lord tried to articulate his own words.

"I only meant, that my niece is very important to our house. She may not seem important to her peers as I'm sure you know."

The prince hummed in agreement. He had heard the whispers and disrespectful to the lords only niece. He remebers pig nosed little girls tripping the young doe as she walked down the Red Keep. He remebers how she was mocked for not standing up for herself, and apologizing when it was unnecessary. He remembers how sweet she tasted when he had kissed her. He remembers how he couldn't sleep since he had reacquainted himself with her. He remembers how he was going to choose her the moment he saw her, for she was unforgettable.

"I know of my bride to be, and I know of her strengths."

The lord let out a sigh. He knows he can't deny his highness, but he also can't put his niece in harms way.

"I can give you a private room to breakfast with my niece. This does not mean none will seek you out. My niece is very much loved."

• It taking the prince five minutes to convince reader it was with permission that they are breaking fast together

• Aemond watching reader shyly eats the sweets he had plated for her

• Sweet was all the prince could think of as he watched her lick the sweet sugar of her lips

"Do you have a particular sweet you enjoy most?"

Aemond's betrothed slows her chew to hide her blush behind her hands. Red creeped upon her cheeks as she thought of an answer to give the prince. Aemond thought the color adorning her cheeks was very fitting considering where she will reside after the issue of who will sit on the throne passes.

• Aemond manages to talk to reader about what she is expecting from their marriage, the prince not expecting reader to talk about doing her duty and anything else he may ask of her

• Before he could assure his betrothed of her position in his life her eldest cousin came looking for her in hopes to help her ready for a warm bath

• Aemond wandering close to the living quarters as to not miss being around reader

• When reader is finally done with her bath Prince Aemond happened to be down the hall from her room when she exited her chambers

• The prince and reader freezing when they see each other

• Caught in each other's gaze, unknowing in what the other thinks (hint, hint, they are thinking about what the other could be thinking)

• The cousins were quick to talk about it

"Did you see?"

"Calm down, or she will hear you. We don't want her to retreat into herself again."

"Talking aout how our cousin is swooning the Prince are we."

"He's more receptive than I thought. Ow! Don't hit me!"

"Don't insult the Prince."

"They are across the keep neither will hear."

"Stop getting off topic! Our cousin is winning herself a Prince!"

"Are you really surprised? She's a gem compared to all. Even we don't shine in her presence."

"A shame it's the one eyed Prince who finally fell for her charms."

"Sister! Out of all the Prince's at least he is honorable."

"That is true. The one half of his face is pleasant to look at, so no doubt our cousin thinks he is Devine!"

The girls fall into a fit of giggles that can be heard down the hallway where the Prince and his betrothed were walking.

• The Lord of house invited his court together to discuss the terms sent by the Prince's brother, the now King

• Being the dutiful Prince he is Aemond stayed close to his betrothed, keeping her company and conversation

• Those in attendance did their best to pay attention, but the sound of soft murmuring and a not so terrifying smirk from the Prince and his betrothed seemed to enthrall all

Depressed!Reader x Aemond Targareyn III

Part one Part two

• Lucerys immediately thinking how his terrifying uncle could be so close to a beautiful woman, but his confusion disappears once his uncle looks up at him

• Lucerys trying his best to be respectful, but Aemond and his betrothed are making it hard to focus

• He watched as the lord was being read his mother's letter

Aemond leaned into reader's ear, on his face held a devious smirk. His eyes glowed alight as she reacted to his words. Her small smile turned wide and her face colored red. Reader tried to cover her face as a way to hide her laugh, but it was still heard.

• Lucerys watched as the beautiful woman touched his uncle, unafraid and uncaring of his reaction. He watched as Aemond smiled at her touch. He watched as his uncle's remaining eye glowed with mirth. Aemond's betrothed left her hand on the prince as he moved closer to her.

• Lucerys couldn't look away from their connection until the lord spoke to him.

"You think I'll just bend over an oath of my father? How do I benefit this? The king at least brought a betrothal to be offered, what of you?"

Lucerys tried his best but he still appeared nervous.

"I can not offer anything my lord, I am already betrothed."

"So you offer nothing." The lord stated with a sigh. He looked over to his niece as she conversed with her newly betrothed. Despite being proud she was able to catch the prince's eye, the lord couldn't help but notice she was just a showing smitten with as he her.

"At least something good has come from The House of Dragon not knowing who its ruler is. Go back to your mother boy, and tell her no oath will be kept here."

• Lucerys trying to make s quick but confident exit

• He made the mistake of looking to his uncle

"Wait, Lord Strong! You have a debt to be paid."

Lucas could hear the other ladies gasp and murmur to each other. The one thing he didn't expect to see was what he saw when he turned around. Aemond had been known in his family as having a certain fire in his eye, a fire that would ignite when violence was promised. This was the first time Lucerys saw that fire in someone else's eyes that wasn't his stepfather.

"You think I will just let you walk away from me? I intend to collect, but I will be generous. You will get to choose which eye, a privilege I did not get."

Reader took in a breath as she listened to her betrothed words. Yet her admiration did not falter, fire burned in her eyes.

• Aemond promising his nephews eye as a gift for his betrothed, Lucerys stares in shock that the woman beside his uncle did not seem bothered by his promise.

• Lucerys almost running out of the hall when Lord Borros dismissed his and Aemond's dispute

• Aemond's long legs carrying him out if the hall with his betrothed trying to follow him

• Reader noticed he left his dagger and was wanting to return it to him

The Prince marched out of Storm's End trying to catch up with his nephew. He couldn't help but hear his betrothed heels march along with him. He quickly turned around catching his love as she bumped right into him. Grasping both her wrists he found his dagger lying in her palms.

"What are you doing? Planning on following me into the storm?!"

"If I must!" The usually shy woman shouted at the Prince. Her face determined but Aemond could see the uncertainty in her eyes. He held onto her firmly but he stayed silent allow her to speak.

"You ignite something within me my Prince, a fire I hadn't known. A fire I have only felt with you and no one else." Aemond pulls his love close to him forgetting all about proprietary and reputation.

"Who thought you to speak so boldly." The Prince sounded angry but his love could see it in his eye. He was amused, happy to see her express herself. He hummed to himself as he held her close. The hands holding his dagger drift down his body, they find his waist and deposit the dagger to its home, the sheath upon his waist.

"Speak plainly to me, let me hear your desire." Their lips were touching as the Prince spoke. His betrothed was barely holding herself up.

"Don't take the boy's eye, " Her sentence was left unfinished as Aemond pushed himself away. His remaining eye gave her a scathing glare. Had she lied to him through their whole meeting? The Prince scoffed and continued his march to Vahgar.

"I am getting what I am owed, no one is stopping me from that."

"I wasn't trying to, my Prince listen." The Prince did not answer nor did he turn around for her. He had Vahgar in his grasp but was pulled away by a much smaller force. Quickly he turned around grabbing her arm that had latched onto him. He used his free hand to grasp her face, making her look at him. Aemond kept his eye determined not showing that he did not want to hurt her, but if he needed to.

"I do not want his eye my love. That night you lost what he took from you." The Prince squeezed his betrothed face. His patience was wearing thin.

"You also gained something. A dragon, my prince. You ride Vhagar! She chose you to be her rider, she listens to you, and she hears your commands. My prince, rider of the largest dragon in the world. My betrothed who I can't wait to marry and who can't wait to bed me." Aemond's stern face fell showing his love how her words were affecting him. His grip lessened from her face, he allowed his hands to drift down her body.

"An eye will not settle an already outweighed debt." The Prince pulled his betrothed close to him so that their bodies were touching.

"And what would you have me do?" His lips tickled hers.

"Bring me his dragon."

Hot take: Can we acknowledge for a second that aemond probably wouldn't have turned out like this if it wasn't for the people around him. In general I think everyone would have turned out different if it wasn't for other people.

Hot Take: Can We Acknowledge For A Second That Aemond Probably Wouldn't Have Turned Out Like This If

I mean he was just a sad boy , who was picked on. He only wanted some friends, and found a friend in his dragon . But in finding a companion he lost his eye , and didn't really get justice. I know it doesn't excuse his behavior, but I think if there had been justice to a degree certain things wouldn't have happened.
