It will never stop being funny the way Tormund reports to Jon that Mag the Mighty giant found him as pretty as girl.
"And what did he say to you?"
Tormund Thunderfist cracked a gap-toothed smile. " He asked me if that was my daughter riding there besides me, with her smooth pink cheeks".
Actually, later Tormund explains that the giant probably never saw a man without a beard and that's why he mistook Jon for a girl. But personally I like to headcanon that it's also because of Jon's beautiful genes. He's the son of two of the prettiest people on the whole series, ofc he was gonna be a beautiful boy.

Interviewer: What inspired the Starks? The Stark family in A Game of Thrones was just marvelous!
George: Well, that's a difficult question to answer. I think, partially, I wanted to do a book about a family. I’ve written a lot of novels and I realize that for the most part, the heroes of those novels, the protagonists, are always loners. They're young people who are unattached, or they are older people who have never made attachments. Abner Marsh from Fevre Dream, is a loner, Dirk t'Larien, in Dying of the Light, is a loner. So I thought it would be interesting to tackle a family unit for once.

House Tully. Another Great House from ASOIAF. I included additional image with names, just in case. Since I sometimes depict characters far from canon and fandom imagination. I included Lysa and Catelyn even though they already married into other families. But I had an opportunity to draw these women twice and imagine Riverlands female fashion, so I took it.
the way in which jon and robb's futures are foreshadowed by the mother of the other: robb dying too young and becoming a ghost that haunts their siblings, a reminder of innocence and happier days, and jon dying and being brought back to life, a shadow of what he once was, a dark mirror to himself

Corpse crowns a corpse
Lady Stoneheart and Undead Jon

After all of that character development throughout the past eight seasons he ends up going back to Cersei and DOESN’T kill her after everything she’s done? I always believed that he left Brienne behind last episode so that she wouldn’t follow him on his suicide mission to slay the queen and get killed as well. But instead, they have him hold Cersei and comfort as they both are crushed to death in the crumbling dungeons of the Red Keep?! FUCK YOU, GAME OF THRONES
yeah i agree (black but not american) i like to pretend all the weird stuff with race in the series has a 'purpose' so if the velaryons were black it makes it even more clear it wasn't ( or at least that what i feel)
but i think alot of ppl just try to completely ignore this (like saying the dornish are white) and dont really think of the implications of it
also might me a side affect of the whole backlash the show got from having a majority white cast (at least i some on twitter don't know if it was major) so they don't really gaf if it makes sense. and i think the thing is if grrm had made characters on danys end more compelling none of this would even be necessary (actually if the show hadn't fucked up the dornish plot that would've helped too)
went off topic sorry but yeah i agree with the weird side effects this has i just wanna complain lol
Genuine question about your Black Velaryons post, what exactly did you mean by "i think grrm's whole “valyrians being black could have been interesting” is Loaded"?
so the valyrians and their whole supremacy thing is the closest the series gets to having 'whiteness' as a concept (that and daeron i racially profiling the dornish), and having the slaving conquering evil bloodthirsty sexually deviant empire be african is just like a bit weird... on one hand ancient egypt is a clear inspiration but idk, would maegor as a monstrous foreign black man abusing innocent (white) westerosi women maybe come across as a little weird...... my opinion is rooted in the politics of the Now and my own political biases (i hate white people) but i just think its politically incoherent and comes across like that terrible john travolta movie White Man's Burden that flips racial politics by doing "what if black people were the white people... would that be fucked up or what...". however i do think black daenerys could be interesting! it's just the rest of targ history that makes me go eh.

The Queen, Rhaenyra Targaryen
As stubborn and ruthless as she was beautiful

Aegon and Helaena's Wedding Aesthetic

How I picture grown Jaehaera Targaryen
She would have Helaena’s ethereal beauty but Aegon’s deep sadness in her eyes

Nettles Outfits Aesthetic
The dragonseed, Nettles, was known to favor boys' clothing rather than the lavish dresses at court and would wear some combination of muted fabrics or leather

How I picture Saera Targaryen
She was said to live like a queen in Volantis where her beauty and cleverness served the former princess well
