Red Shirt Moment

Alright did anyone else notice the kinda hidden red shirt moment. It’s a running gag on Star Trek that a red shirt will almost always die. They had one in the first movie and in the second movie I didn’t notice one this time. That is until a few hours later that it hit me. A red shirt did die and Scotty killed him, lol. Red shirts are engineers and security. Think about it the next time you see the movie.

Eleven as Jane is the Bart Simpson wearing a blue shirt instead of a red shirt for marketing purposes of Stranger Things.

Meaning she may be Jane later on in the series but she'll still always be Eleven on the merchandise.

I have to ask the question as to why Stranger Things fans constantly get attached to what could be considered red shirt characters? It's one of the glaring flaws of this fandom.

I wanna be the main character but realistically I know that I am, at best, the weird love interest and/or best friend that only queer kids identify with.

Or I'm the one red shirt that you could see was gonna die from a mile away and when it happens you're not even sad about it.

My lil bro asked me 'what redshirts do?' And i without hesitation answered 'die'. Lil guy just wanted to know what their work is.😭
