Not Like Them - Spencer Reid Imagine
Spencer x Reader
Summary: Reid is a little insecure about his lack of experience which leads to his team making sure he know just how valued he is, as he is. Which gives him the courage to act on his feelings.
You planted yourself on the edge of Morgan’s desk right next to his head. He turned his head looking up at you reaching out he swatted at your jean covered leg. You didn’t move only glanced over your shoulder at the young genius who sat at his desk and then back at Derek.
He realised you weren’t moving so he sighed and sat back in his chair. ‘Alright what can I do for you sweetheart?’ You smiled slightly at your nickname. Derek had always been one to give people nicknames, but mostly Garcia. He had lots of pet names for her, he stuck with sweetheart for you. ‘Spencer, does he seem a little off to you, these last few days?’ You muttered keeping your voice down.
Derek glanced around you looking at Reid, you were both lucky that he was preoccupied with whatever preoccupied that amazing brain of his to notice. ‘Subtle big guy, subtle’ You groaned and Derek looked back up at you with a smile. ‘Maybe he’s just thinking over some crazy complicated theory? How are we supposed to know?’ He sat forwards.
You rolled your eyes. ‘Derek, no, it’s something different this time. I know it’ Derek sighed and nodded. ‘I picked up on it too, since a few of the new interns started he’s been, not distracted but-’ You nodded pointing at him. ‘That’s it, see you got it too’ Derek smirked. ‘And you’ve noticed it’s since the interns got here’ Again you rolled your eyes.
You swore that one day you were going to roll your eyes so hard at him they were going to go straight back into your skull. You had told Reid this and he had started rambling about how he didn’t think it was possible. ‘Keep on topic’ You groaned.
You let out a small gasp as Derek reached out and grabbed your thighs. He spun you slightly on the desk and shifted his chair so that he was sitting between your legs. ‘I am on topic, maybe he has a crush on an intern, maybe he is trying to figure out how to ask one out, you a little jealous sweetheart?’ He chuckled a little giving your leg a squeeze. You gave him a slight glare. Derek was a good friend of yours, he knew everything about you, right down to the oft spot you had for Dr Reid.
Someone cleared their throat behind you. You looked over your shoulder to see JJ standing by Reid’s desk. Derek looked around you and smiled at JJ. ‘New Case?’ He asked. She shook her head. ‘Not yet? You two okay?’ She glanced between the two of you. Derek nodded. ‘Just having a discussion’ Derek smirked and glanced up at you. You narrowed your eyes at him.
Morgan stands and walks around you going to lean on your desk. ‘I was thinking of asking out one of the interns’ You turned on the desk both of your eyes registering Spencer’s reaction to Morgan’s new piece of information. Spencer furrowed his brows a little. ‘There’s a pretty blonde one, Laura? She seems nice? Dont ye think Reid?’ JJ shook her head turning to leave but her eyes caught how focused you two were on Reid reaction and decided to stay.
If the two of you were up to something, especially with how distracted Spencer had been the last few days, maybe she should stick around. You two together were not known for being subtle about things. Separately you were okay, together, not so much, you fueled each other. It was why Hotch always seemed to put the two of you in interrogations together, you were the best team they had.
You were a good team on the field, when it came to things like this, she knew by the look in both your eyes this wasn’t one of those, let’s take it easy on the boy genius times. you were worried and Derek had started off a chain reaction that meant you were both going to get whatever you wanted out of him.
JJ laid her hand on Reid’s shoulder. ‘I have not talked to her, but she was flirting with another agent in the break room this morning’ Reid nodded. You smiled leaning your elbow on your knee and your chin on your fisted hand. ‘You wouldn’t mind that would you? Or maybe blondes aren’t your thing? Jessie, she’s got pretty brown hair and Nice eyes. Maybe you two should have a double date?’ JJ closed her eyes letting out a long quiet sigh.
Reid’s eyes widened a little. Suddenly he was on his feet shaking his head. ‘I don’t think a double date would be a good idea.’ He began gathering up some files almost dropping them. ‘I don’t think me going on a date would be a good idea, with anyone’ With that he turned and strode off.
JJ gave you both a glare. ‘Bingo’ You jumped off Morgan’s desk. ‘I got it’ You looked at Derek. ‘You want to take this or should I?’ You asked your fellow agent. He stared after the youngest member of your team. ‘It would sound better coming from you, you take it’ Derek stood from the desk and nodded to you. JJ positioned herself in your way as you nodded jumping from his desk. ‘What are you going to do now?’ She put her hands on her hips giving you a stern look.
You sighed and reached out putting a hand on her shoulder. ‘I’m going to look after my friend, Derek will explain’ You slid past her striding through the bullpen towards where Spencer had disappeared to. ‘Anything you want to tell me?’ JJ turned to the there man. ‘We profiled our very own Dr Reid, and she’s gone to sort things out’ Derek shrugged going back to his reports.
You found Spencer in the far break room filling up his coffee mug, the files lying on the table looking like they had just been tossed there. ‘Penny?’ You stopped by the door keeping your voice soft. Spencer tensed a little. ‘Spencer, talk to me’ He sighed and turned pushing his hair back.
He refused to look at you. ‘Were me and Morgan too harsh?’ You stepped into the room. Reid shook his head putting down the cup of coffee and crossing his arms. ‘JJ was the last person I asked on a date’ He whispered his voice small. You frowned and stepped closer to him. ‘You haven’t asked anyone out since JJ?’ He shook his head his eyes darting around the room. ‘I wouldn’t even know what to do with someone on a date’ His shoulders slumped.
You let out a small laugh. ‘Spencer, no one does, dates are nerve wracking, asking someone out is horrible, but that doesn’t mean that should stop you from doing it. Listen, Jessie is a nice girl, maybe the double date with Derek wouldn’t be so bad’ You stopped in front of him looking up at the man in front of you. ‘Let Derek take the lead, all you have to do is ask her about her and listen to her’ You reached out and patted his arm lightly knowing how he felt about these things.
You sighed when he slipped by you walking over to collect the files again. ‘Spencer-’ you stared but he spun around. ‘I don’t want to ask out an intern, they’re all more experienced than me. They’re all my age but they’re more experienced. I’m not lke them’ With that he almost fell back to sit on the desk.
Now that took you off guard, you didn’t think that would be the problem, sure you had figured his lack of experience with dating was some of it, it made him nervous but you never thought it was going to be what was holding him back what was putting doubt in his mind. With that you strode towards him, right now you didn’t care about any of his little quirky aversions.
When you reached him you threw your arms around his neck pressing yourself against him in a tight hug. You felt his body tense against yours. ‘Who cares if you’re not like them Spencer, you’re perfect the way you are. You wouldn’t be you if you were like them’ He began to relax a little as he let go of the desk and wrapped his arms loosely around you. ‘God, don’t you ever think that’s a bad thing Spencer’ You muttered into his neck. ‘Don’t you ever think you being you is bad’ You pulled away slightly so you could see his face.
You placed one hand on his cheek. ‘Lack of experience or not, you’re still one of the most interesting and sweetest people I have ever met, anyone would be lucky to date you. You may lack experience in that field but look at you, you’re a seasoned FBI agent who has taken down killers. You have an IQ of 187 and can read 20,000 words a minute, you have three PhD’s and three BAs. You finished high school at 12 and you have an eidetic memory. Of course you’re not like them, but none of us want you to be. We wouldn’t trade our Reid for ten of them, for anything’ You ran your finger over his cheek.
Reid was watching you with wide eyes, his lips slightly parted. Then he furrowed his eyebrows. ‘You really think that?’ You smiled up at him and nodded. ‘Yeah, we all do Penny, we all do’ You let the smile spread as he tightened his arms around you pulling you straight back into him. You ran your hand back through his hair as he buried his face in your shoulder.
He relaxed into you completely. ‘Thank you’ He whispered. You pulled him tighter to you and nuzzled into his shoulder. ‘I’m only telling the truth Reid’ You muttered. ‘So, that date?’ You asked. Spencer shook his head. ‘I’m not interested in an intern’ You nodded understanding as you tangled your hand in his hair.
Two days later you sat at your desk across from Reid. You were both doing reports after a quick case the team had just finished, both staying late. ‘Hey Y/n’ You looked up to see Reid already watching you. ‘Did you know about 353,000 babies are born everyday?’ You smiled sweetly at him. ‘No, I did not, that’s interesting where did this come from?’ He shrugged his eyes darting to the left and then back to you. ‘Something just reminded me of it’ He answered before going back to his work with a smile.
You chuckled. ‘And 151,600 people die every day?’ He contributed again. ‘How many of those are murders?’ You asked him leaning forwards on your desk putting your arms on the table. Spencer looked up at you his lips spreading into a smile. ‘In the United states, 16,238 a year, that means about 44 a day. 11, 068 of which are killed by firearm related incidents’ Spencer started to ramble. ‘Woah there Pretty boy, talking Y/n ear off again?’ Derek patted his shoulder as he walked by.
Spencer stopped and looked up at his his mouth still open. ‘She asked’ He defended. ‘And I was enjoying it, thank you very much’ You scolded Derek and picked up your pen again giving Reid a small smile showing him you actually meant it before going back to your resport. Out of the corner of your eye you seen Derek nod at you widening his eyes at Spencer. Spencer shook his head quickly. Derek nodded giving him a quick glare. You narrowed your eyes ready to jumped at them, wondering why they were acting so odd.
But Derek bet you to anything. ‘Time for me to go, have fun kiddos’ He turned walking out sending a warning look Reid’s way. You both waved at him calling goodbye after him. ‘You two okay?’ You asked Reid who’s eyes widened and he nodded frantically realising you had seen the altercation before. You went back to your work knowing whatever it was he wasn’t up to talking about it.
An hour later you picked up your jacket and bag. ‘Alright, I’m leaving, you want a lift?’ You asked Reid who looked up at you. He shook his head. ‘No, thank you, I’ll see you Monday’ You smiled at him nodding. ‘Goodnight Spencer’ You turned leaving the genius at his desk. You pushed open the door and walked to the elevator waiting for it to come up. ‘Or tomorrow’ You heard a small voice from behind you
You stopped turning around. ‘What?’ Reid stood in the glass doors leading from the bullpen. His shoulders were slumped a little but you could see the tension in them. His hands moving briskly. ‘Or tomorrow, I could see you tomorrow’ He looked up at you crossing his arms over his chest. ‘Sure, what do you have in mind?’ You asked with a smile. ‘Dinner? Dinner is good right?’ You raised an eyebrow. ‘Yeah, people need dinner’ You chuckled.
Reid shook his head. His hand coming up to push his hair off his face before he tucked it back in his elbow. ‘I mean for a date? Dinner is okay?’ Your eyes widened and you cleared your throat. ‘You’re asking me on a date?’ He nodded slightly looking down at the floor, then to his left, then the ceiling. You couldn’t help the large smile that split your face in two. ‘Then dinner is perfect, seven okay?’ His head snapped back to you.
He blinked a few times before shifting on his feet and uncrossing his arms. ‘Uhhh, seven is perfect, I’ll pick you up? Or what? I don’t-sho-’ You let out a laugh striding over to him. ‘I’ll see you at mine at seven for our date, goodnight Spencer’ You leaned up on your toes pressing your lips to his in a quick kiss. Smiling you pulled away, at least that would calm his nerves for tomorrow. He wouldn’t be worrying about kissing you them. ‘I’m looking forward to it’ You whispered hearing the elevator ding. ‘Goodnight’ You smiled and turned walking into the metal box.
You turned just in time to see thim before the doors closed. He was standing watching you with a massive grin on his face. ‘Don’t ever change Reid’ You giggled and he waved at you quickly before the door cut off your sight from one another. You sighed leaning back against the wall as the elevator went down.
You had a date with Dr Spencer Reid, how did you get so lucky?
Part 2

Important - Spencer Reid Imagine
Part 2 of this
Summary: Reid takes you on a date.
You sighed tossing the dress onto the bed. It joined the many others that you had tried on earlier that evening. You groaned, you probably should have got JJ or Garcia to go shopping with you today. You sighed reaching over and grabbing the plain black dress you had tried on about 20 minutes ago. It would have to do.
Why you were so nervous for this you didn’t know. You seen Reid everyday, you worked with him. He’s seen you in the worst condition, in life threatening positions, crabby because of lack of sleep, he’s seen you in every state, You shouldn’t be so nervous about this.
You twisted in front of the mirror. It was a pretty dress, plain but pretty. It was a knee long flowing dress with a high neckline and sleeves that came down to your elbows, it had light blue flowers around the hem of the neckline. It wasn’t fancy but it was nice.
You didn’t have many dresses, it was mostly jeans and tops because that’s what you wore to work. You never had any real need to own anything else. Working in the BAU took up a lot of time, most of your time. You only really needed clothes for work.
Looking at the clock on your bedside table you realised it would have to do, it was almost 7 o’clock and Spencer wasn’t one to be late. He was always punctual. Reaching over you grabbed your bag and keys before turning and grabbing the cardigan you had taken out earlier. Thank god you left picking clothes until last, at least you didn’t have to do your make-up or hair.
Walking into the front room you left your bag by the door wanting to grab some water before Spencer arrived. Just as you turned you heard a soft knock on the door. You were sure that if you hadn’t been standing beside it you would have missed it. It was definitely Spencer’s knock though. He had a certain knock you had memorised.
Taking a deep breath you reached out. Then the knock came again this time louder. You would definitely have been able to hear it from inside your apartment. You waited a split second before opening the door.
When you did your mouth fell open slightly. Spencer looked amazing. He wore a dark suit with a purple shirt underneath, it was buttoned up to the top. He had a purple tie on aswell the was slightly askewed and you could only imagine it was because he had pulled at it. Right on that thought, as if confirming it he reached up and wrapped his fingers around it tugging at it slightly before shoving them back in his pocket. Your eyes roamed his chest and seen the handkerchief neatly folded in his pocket.
He looked amazing. ‘I-uh-hi’ Spencer smiled and then drew his lips into his mouth. ‘Hey, wow Spencer, you look- the suit really suits you’ At that he chuckled giving a shrug. ‘Thanks, I’ve never seen you in a dress before’ His eyes took you in and you felt a small blush coloured your cheeks. ‘I like it, you should wear them more often’ You laughed slightly stepping aside to allow him inside. ‘I would but not exactly the most practical attire for an agent’ Spencer opened and closed his mouth as he walked by you.
He pulled his hand out of his pocket to rub the side of his nose. ‘Right, I-i didn’t think of that’ You closed the door behind him. ‘It was sweet though, thank you Penny’ You smiled and stepped closer to him and pushed yourself up to press a kiss to his cheek. ‘I’m going to grab a water, you want anything?’ You asked and he shook his head his eyes slightly wide. You smiled at him before rushing off to the kitchen.
You giggled as Spencer laughed slightly beside you. Since leaving the house he had gotten a little less nervous and calmed. You glanced down at the sidewalk. It was only then that you noticed that he was wearing proper brown shoes and not his usual converse. Wow, he really tried. ‘I’ve never been in your apartment before’ He mused glancing down at you. ‘What you’d expect?’ You asked as you reached out brushing your fingers over his arm.
The small gesture didn’t go unnoticed by him and his eyes fell to his arm before coming back to you. ‘What do you mean?’ You laughed. ‘Reid, we’ve worked together for a while now, don’t tell me you haven’t profiled me. With that comes what my apartment would be like’ You smiled up at him. He shook his head. ‘No, of course not-I mean-I haven’t profiled you, no’ You smirked. ‘I’ve done it to you’ You shrugged. ‘You’ve pictured my apartment?’ His eyebrows shot up.
You nodded. ‘Clean, organised, lots of books’ You glanced up at him. ‘And I mean lots, simple, nothing extravagant. Maybe some kind of intellectual game somewhere-’ You smiled. ‘Chess, I have a chess board’ He nodded. ‘So I’m right?’ He nodded with a smile. ‘I got Derek’s right as well’ You beamed proudly. ‘You’ve been to Derek’s?’ Spencer tilted his head at you his eyebrows furrowed. ‘Yeah, I mean, like once I dropped him home after a case he invited me in’ You shrugged.
Spencer nodded. ‘You two make a good team’ He said quietly. ‘Yeah, I guess we do, but he can sure get annoying’ You laughed. ‘I was always under the impression that the two of you would become romantically involved’ He shrugged. You glanced up at him with a timid smile.
You reached out and wrapped your arm around his gripping his bicep as you leaned into him. ‘Yeah but I ended up on a date with our Reid instead. Between you and me, I definitely prefer this outcome’ That brought a wide smile to his face. ‘Yes, your house is what I pictured, although I would have imagines more family photo’s, you always make sure to talk to your family at the end of each day’ You smiled. ‘Yeah, I don’t like having them out around the house. They’re tucked away somewhere safe’ You explained.
He nodded. ‘Why? May I ask?’ You looked up at him to find him watching you with curiosity. ‘I once knew an agent, an unsub targeted him for some reason. One day he came home his entire flat in ruins and only one thing was missing. A photo of his family. They were tortured and almost murdered after that. It’s a safety precaution’ You shrugged when you seen him nodding understandingly. ‘I mean, we piss a lot of people off’ Spencer reached over and patted your hand. ‘I understand. We’re here’ He pulled you to a stop
Looking up you found you were indeed outside a restaurant. It was a small one you had been meaning to go to but never got around to it. ‘I wanted to go here’ You smiled as Reid opened the door letting you in. ‘I remembered, you said it a few months ago about it just opening and you wanted to go, I thought I could bring you’ He pushed a strand of hair behind his ear with a soft smile. ‘Thank you’ You smiled.
He nodded turning to the host. ‘Uhm, Reid, I have a table booked’ The man behind the counter nodded and picked up two menus. ‘Right this way’ You reached out grabbing a hold of Spencer’s arm looking up at him with a large smile as he chuckled leading you into the restaurant.
You nodded swallowing another bite of your food. ‘Oh god Reid, you are the best’ You said with a moan. ‘This is literally the best food I’ve ever tasted’ Spencer looked up at you smiling slightly. ‘I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself’ He had relaxed a great deal since you had come in and sat down, it was probably the look of awe and excitement that made him realise he had done well. He wasn’t as bad at this as he thought. ‘Enjoying it?’ You scoffed. ‘It’s not even over and I can tell you this is the best date I’ve ever been on’ You chuckled.
It was quiet for a moment as you looked down at your plate taking another forkful. ‘Really?’ His voice was slightly higher than usual. You glanced up and nodded eagerly. ‘You got us a table at a restaurant I’ve been dying to try since it opened, first, major brownie points, second, it really shows you listen and care. You paid enough attention to remember this and then find it and get us a table’ You reached across the table and laid you hand on his.
His eyes widened slightly and you almost cursed realising what you had done. ‘So-’ You were about to pull your hand away when he turned his over and grasped yours in his keeping a firm grip on it. ‘I’m glad you like it’ He smiled and you could almost feel your heart swell out of your chest.
After a moment of just sitting looking t each other you giggled. ‘You should wear glasses more often Penny, they’re good on you’ Spencer blushed lightly looking down at his plate pushing his food around. ‘Thank you’ You smiled giving his hand a squeeze before retracting it going back to your dinner.
You leaned your head on Spencer’s shoulder as he walked you home. The two of you had spent almost two hours in the restaurant and then he had brought you to the movies. ‘I think I have found my new favourite restaurant of all time’ You sighed and felt him squeeze your hand. ‘You believe it was that good?’ Spencer smiled down at you even though you didn’t see. ‘It was amazing, delicious. But the best thing was you brought me’ You smiled tilting your head back looking at him.
He chuckled. ‘I never realised you were so romantic’ You shrugged. ‘I’ve had a great night Penny’ You sighed as you seen your apartment building come into view. ‘I have too’ You smiled. ‘You want to come inside? You can analyse my house further’ You teased remembering he had admitted he had tried to take every detail in earlier. Spencer blushed and you giggled. He reached up and rubbed the side of his nose again.
You shouldered him lightly. ‘I was joking but the offer still stands’ Spencer smiled opening his mouth but then both your phones went off. At exactly the same time, which could only mean one thing. Work. You groaned and pulled away from him pulling out your phone. ‘Hotch’ You sighed reading the message it sounded urgent. ‘Wait here, I’m going to go grab my badge and gun then I’ll drive you to yours so you can grab you things’ You told him
You turned striding to the door. Pausing you shook your head turning around and walking back over to him. You grabbed his tie pulling him down to you. You lips met his and you felt him tense. But then he relaxed his arms wrapping around you. Your other hand reached up tangling in his growing hair pulling him closer to you.
You let your tongue slide out and ran it over his lower lip. For a fraction of a second he tensed but then his tongue came out to meet yours. You felt his hand on the side of your face as he held you to him makinging the kiss more intense and passionate.
Finally you pulled away breathing heavily. ‘I had to, just in case we didn’t get to’ You whispered. ‘I don’t mind, I enjoyed it.’ You nodded. ‘Then we should do it again sometime, not just the kiss, the whole evening’ You smiled and pulled away from him pressing a quick kiss to his jaw before running up the steps towards you flat.
The both of you strode into the office, neither of you had decided to change seeing as you both had extra clothes here and it would save time. ‘Where are they?’ You heard Hotch call. ‘Right here boss’ You strode in the door Reid following behind you. ‘You two aren’t dressed for a night at home’ Garcia glanced at you both. Unusual to see her out of her office. ‘It’s Saturday, we had plans’ You shrugged laying down your bag. ‘Must have been important for you both to get so dressed up’ JJ contributed. ‘Some kind of get together? You two go out with friends?’ Morgan laughed at her conclusion
He nudged her. ‘Nawh JJ, it was just the two of them I’m guessing’ You turned and glared at Morgan. ‘Spencer took me to a nice restaurant I’ve been wanting to go to for months and it was lovely’ You grabbed your clothes shoving them into a bag, you’d change on the plane. ‘A date? As in a date? You finally asked her out?’ Garcia’s voice rose a few octaves.
Reid nodded shyly. ‘Best date ever’ You looked up giving him a smile. He looked back at you giving you a smile in return. ‘Atta boy pretty boy, come on’ Morgan patted him on the shoulder turning him away from you and towards the conference room. ‘I want every detail’ Garcia squealed and squeezed you elbow before trotting off down the hall.
You smiled and followed the boys with JJ towards your conference room. ‘Hey Morgan’ You heard as you walked in. ‘What’s a good idea for a second date?’ You beamed as you sat down across from him and he looked over and smiled at you a small twinkle in his eye.
A second date, if it was half as good as the first it’d be perfect.

Nine Months - Spencer Reid Imagine
Part 1
Spencer x reader
Summary: Reid helps his girlfriend through the pregnancy
Two Months
You sat on the bath staring at the three tests on the sink. This wasn’t good. Sure, you and Spencer had spoke about children, maybe once or twice but never seriously.
The first time was on your third date, you were talking about your hopes for the future and kids had just come up. Spencer had wanted to wait a good while, until he was older, you had been the same. You wondered if a year and a half was older enough for him.
The second time had been when your sister had given birth. She was almost two years younger than you but had married her high school sweetheart whereas you went to the big city. You and Spencer had curled up on the couch. He was reading a book and you were watching some brain numbing TV show.
That had only been a few months ago. You had brought it up, asking if he ever thought of having kids with you. It had been something that had slipped out and you hadn’t thought about it. You had rushed to cover up your mistake but Spencer had responded with a yes almost immediately. But not now.
Your heart leapt as there was a call on your phone. Diving across the bathroom to your bag you dug around in it. Finally pulling out the loud device you flipped it open answering it. ‘Y/n’ You breathed. ‘We got a case’ JJ’s voice came over the phone. You gulped your hand landing on your lower abdomen. ‘O-okay’ You nodded. ‘You okay?’ She asked. ‘I’ll see you in 10 minutes’ You hung up before she could answer.
You stared at the file in front of you unable to concentrate. You couldn’t focus on anything. You could only listen to half the sentences people were saying. You jumped as someone put their hand on your shoulder. You looked up to see Spencer looking down at you a frown on his face his eyebrows furrowed in concern. ‘Are you okay?’ You stood nodding. ‘Of course, yeah’ He grabbed your hand keeping you in place. ‘I know you I ca-’ You nodded. ‘I’m just feeling a little ill, nothing that wont pass’ You pulled away from him running out the door.
You caught your boss walking into his office. Hurrying after him you pushed into the room behind him and closed the door. ‘I need to sit this one out Hotch’ He spun around almost surprised by your presence. ‘I’ll stay here, cover bases from here’ You told him as he glanced you over. ‘Are you sick? You look perfectly well’ He said gathering his things. ‘No, not-well-kind of’ You shrugged. He looked up at you halting his movements. ‘Y/n, if you’re sitting it out I ne-’ You couldn’t tell him, you had to tell Reid first. ‘Aaron’ You cut him off. His use of first name got his attention. ‘As one friend to another, I need to sit this out’ Hotch thought for a second before nodding picking up his bag. ‘I expect a full explanation when I get back’ He patted your shoulder as he walked by you.
You sighed in relief going to sit in the chair across from Hotch’s desk. You closed your eyes, this was going to be hard to explain to the team. Maybe you could just make up an illness, say you got the flu. But lying successfully to a room full of worried profilers was definitely one of the hardest things to do. You opened your eyes and smiled slightly when you found your hand had subconsciously strayed to your stomach.
The team looked around the plane as Hotch got on. ‘Wheres Y/n?’ Spencer asked standing. ‘She’s staying at base, thinks she could be more use there’ He walked by Reis towards the back of the plane. Spencer sat leaning into Derek. ‘Something’s wrong with Y/n, she was distracted today in the briefing’ JJ leaned in aswell. ‘She was like that on the phone earlier too’ She contributed. ‘Listen, guys’ Morgan waved his hand slightly getting both of their attention. ‘I’m sure she has a good reason, she wouldn’t sit out a case for just nothing. She loves being in the field’ Spencer thought it over nodding slightly but still promising himself to call when they landed.
For a whole week you had been off with them, you had successfully told them you had come down with something, getting Penelope to back you up telling them you had gone to the doctors one morning and all. Then it came to a shoot out. And you froze. Morgan had given you stick about it, Spencer had just been openly worried. Right now you were sitting in the break room your head in your hands.
You heard someone pull up a seat beside you. ‘Y/n?’ Spencer’s tentative voice rang through the silence. ‘Do you need something to drink? A coffee?’ He was worried, you could hear it in his voice. You shook your head. ‘Are you still sick? Is it something worse than the flu?’ Looking up you seen the tears almost forming in his eyes.
You reached out taking his hands pulling them to your face pressing a kiss to his knuckles. ‘No, I’m not sick Spence’ You breathed. ‘Then what is it?’ He just about shouted. ‘Why are you so-’ You dropped his hands pulling away. ‘I’m pregnant Spencer, I’m pregnant’ You said softly. But he heard.
Spencer was watching you silently. His mouth open and eyes wide. S-spencer?’ You whispered after several moments silence. Then something in his demeanor changed. His eyes lightened, no longer looking at you in shock but more like awe, the corners of his lips pulling outwards slightly. ‘Spencer?’ You reached out touching his arm.
He blinked twice his tongue darting out to wet his lips. ‘You-you’re pregnant? As in we-’ You nodded. ‘Yeah, we’re gonna have a kid’ Then his face split in two one of the largest smiles you had ever seen on his face. ‘We’re going to be parent’s, my-I’m-I’m going to be a father?’ You nodded slightly.
With that he shoved himself from the chair his hands wrapping around your arms. He pulled you from your seat and straight up into him. . His arms wrapped around you as he smashed his lips to yours in a rushed happy kiss. You felt a weight lift from your shoulders. He was happy.
Spencer was happy about this’
Then suddenly he pulled away. ‘I-no-you shouldn’t have stood so fast, sit back down’ He pushed you back down into the chair again and dropped to his knees in front of you. ‘Do you need anything? Water? You should stay hydrated. Have you eaten today? When was the last time you did eat?’ He went to stand but you gripped him holding him down with a laugh.
He looked up at you. Reaching up you ran your fingers through his hair holding the back of his head your finger tangling in his brown locks. Your other hand laid on his cheek. ‘Spence, I’m fine, it’s okay. I’m only two months along’ Spencer’s hands dropped from your arms to your waist.
He smiled at you before his eyes trailed down to your abdomen. ‘My Baby’ He cooed as he leaned forwards. His forehead leaned just below your chest as he pressed his face into you. You giggled a little holding him to you. ‘You’re gonna be a daddy Spencer’ You beamed down at the top of his head. ‘I’m going to be a dad’ He breathed his hot breath fanning across your shirt and then he wrapped his arms around you hugging you to him his cheek pressed against your stomach
Three Months
Four weeks, it had been four weeks and five new cases and the team was starting to get anxious. You were a field agent, it was where you loved to be. But for the last few weeks you had been perfectly content to stay with JJ or Garcia. And when you did come it was only on simple raids, nothing serious. And Spencer was fully on board with your decision, if even a little iffy when you had to go out with them. It was this worry that had both you and Spencer sitting in the back of the plane while the others sat up front.
Spencer had his arm around you and his other hand subtly under your shirt tracing patterns along your skin. The affection both you and Spencer had been so open about also worried them, usually in work you were professional, maybe the off affectionate gesture when you guys didn't think the others would notice, but not anymore.
You glanced up at the others. 'I think we should tell them' You whispered to him. Spencer took his head off yours. 'They have been asking' He sighed his hand stopping its movements just resting under your shirt. 'I mean now Spence, they've all been watching me weirdly' Spencer shrugged. 'You are different' He avoided the suggestion, although when Spencer did that you could never really tell if he was avoiding it or if his brain had just taken him off somewhere else. 'Spence, should we tell them?' You asked again trying to pull him back. 'Huh? Yeah, if you want, we can tell them now, right now, yeah' He nodded and you knew he hadn't been avoiding it.
Standing you pulled away from him and held out your hand. 'Alright' A smile stretched across his face and he stood grabbing you hand. He leaned down pressing a kiss to your forehead before you both turned. The others looked up as you both stopped ahead of them. Emily seen where their eyes were and turned looking at you both. Spencer reached down putting his hand on your hip steadying you even though you didn't need it. You fiddled with your hands. 'Eh, guys, how about you call Garcia?' You smiled at them. Derek frowned but did as you asked. 'Hey sugar' She was turned to face you and Spencer before she could get anything else out.
You waved. 'I know you've been worried so we're just gonna te-' You began to tell them but you could only giggle when you were cut off. 'We're pregnant' Spencer almost shouted. 'Well, she is, it’s impossible for me to be' His eyes widened along with the others. His hand clamped over his mouth. 'You're serious?' Garcia's voice rang through. You nodded. 'Just over three months' You smiled at them. 'I'm going to be a dad' Spencer began talking again a grin splitting his face.
Then there was a loud squeeze as Garcia disappeared from the screen and you only got a few glimpses of her skirt as she did a happy dance. 'Damn kid' Morgan stood and rushed over to you both pulling you into a hug. 'Congrats guys' Spencer shoved him back. 'You shouldn't squeeze her' His hand slid around to your stomach cradling it gently.
The team began to laugh. 'Well, I won't hug you, Reid has a gun but I'm happy for you guys' Hotch teased with a smile and you thanked him. 'I'm so happy for you' JJ stood hugging you anyway despite Spencer's watchful eyes. 'You guys ever need anything' You nodded thanking her. Emily grabbed you hand squeezing it. 'Good luck' She said with a laugh. Gideon was last to congratulate you. He stood patting you both on the shoulders. 'Its gonna be one lucky kid' You blushed at the compliment. 'Sit, tell us everything' He gestured to a seat.
Three and a Half Months
You skipped into the office Spencer following behind you. You had both come back from your lunch hour 'Guess what we've got' You shouted alerting the team you were back. 'Come on' You beckoned them over to the your desk when you sat. 'Spence show them' They were all confused but couldn't help smile at the excitement in your voice. Spencer reached into his bag pulling out a small envelope. ‘What’s in the envelope Pretty boy?’ Morgan leaned against your desk. ‘Spencer beamed at them. ‘Our baby’ He said opening it and pulling out the ultrasound photo.
Suddenly the team was almost as excited as you as they crowded around Spencer trying to get a good look at the small baby. ‘We went for a scan today and got a photo this time’ You beamed squeezing by them to your boyfriend. He reached out wrapping his arm around your waist pulling you to him pressing a quick kiss to your lips. Garcia awed and clasped her hands together. ‘It’s the first time we’ve both been off and were able to get an appointment’ You smiled as Spencer turned the photo back to you looking at it adoringly.
Four Months
Spencer’s hand grazed your stomach and he couldn’t help but smile. You had started to show about a week ago but you hadn’t noticed. But he had. He noticed every little thing that you had done. The weird and the wonderful. He noticed you liked to eat more ice cream going through almost two or three tubs a week. He noticed you woke in the middle of the night, you would take a walk, have a glass of water and come back to bed, something you had never done before.
You hummed in your sleep and Spencer leaned forwards pressing a kiss to the back of your neck. ‘Spence’ You grumbled feeling him pressed up against you his hand on your stomach, again. It felt like his hand was almost permanently on it afraid he’d miss something. Every night when you would go to bed he was pull you into him wrapping his arms around you resting his large hand on your stomach.
You grunted turning over to look at him. ‘Sometimes I think you love our baby more than me’ You giggled and he pursed his lips looking away from you. ‘I love you equally’ He reasoned. You rolled your eyes. ‘I know babe’ You giggled leaning up to give him a long kiss. ‘I love you’ He whispered. He wrapped his arm around your back pulling you closer. You buried your head in his chest. ‘Spence, I think I’m beginning to show. I put on my top and it was tighter’ Spencer laughed. ‘You’ve been showing for the last two weeks’ Your head snapped back looking up into his brown eyes. ‘No I ha-’ He nodded. ‘I know you, every inch, I feel the curve’ He smiled.
You blushed. ‘It’s that kind of talk Spencer Reid that got us in this situation’ You giggled and he kissed you again. ‘I’m happy with our situation’ Then he frowned. ‘Are you not? Do you think we sh-’ You put your finger over his lips. ‘One of the best situations I’ve ever found myself in Spence, apart from that time in Texas’ You winked and seen a blush forming on his cheeks.
Five months
You were definitely showing now. Since it had become very visible it kind of hit home with Spencer that there was another human being inside of you. He was more protective than ever. He had completely banned you from any field work about two weeks ago, not taking no for an answer. He made sure you always had a cool glass of water on your desk and was always supplying you with yogurts.
He was even against you flying and wanted you to stay in Quantico. But that was where you had put your foot down, which resulted in a fight. Which resulted in Spencer getting extremely worried that you were stressed and high blood pressure and wanting to call the doctor. He had gone into overdrive listing out all the ill effects that the stress of a fight could have on you and the baby almost convincing himself he was the cause of it.
You jumped as there was a plate laid in front of you. ‘I got you a chicken salad from the shop a few blocks into the city, you know that little place you love but never go’ You smiled up at him. That place was expensive doing the best salads around, you never went because it was out of the way and cost a fortune for one salad. ‘I didn’t get mayonnaise, they used yogurt instead. And-eh- I know you don’t like avocados but I promise they did not add a lot and you won’t taste it’ You beamed up at him.
Standing you wrapped your arms around him burying your face in his chest. ‘You’re the best person ever Spencer’ You almost cried. You felt him tense but wrap his arms around you. It would have taken him almost all of his break hour to get to that shop and back. ‘B-but you haven’t eaten’ You pulled away. His eyes widened when he seen the tears in your eyes. ‘Sorry, you need to look after yourself too’ You wiped your eyes.
Spencer guided you back down onto the seat his hand coming to the side of your now prominent bump. ‘I’m about to eat now, please, don’t cry’ His hand brushed your cheek. You leaned forwards pressing your lips to his quickly ‘God I love you so much, I’ve been craving something, I think it’s ice cream, but yogurt dulls it. God you’re the best’ You stroked his face all traces of tears gone and a wide smile on your face. ‘You’re perfect, now eat’ You scolded him
Spencer stood nodding his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He turned to Morgan who was snickering beside you at the scene. Hormones Morgan mouthed at him and Reid nodded hesitantly never seeing you as quick to change moods like that. He leaned down and kissed your forehead. ‘I love you’ He whispered before tentatively going around to his own desk.
Five and a half Months
You let out a squeal as you sat in the briefing room. Your hands flew to your bump as you looked down. The entire room stopped talking looking at you worried. Spencer was by your side in a second. He dropped to his knees by your chair. ‘Are you okay?’ He grabbed your arms. ‘Is the baby okay? Does it hurt? Are you in pain? I’ll call 911′ He rushed looking around the office. ‘We’ll get you a doctor, baby please what-’ You grabbed his arm pulling his hand against your bump.
Immediately he was silenced. His eyes widened and his lips parted. Just like when you had told him the first time you were pregnant. A giant smile spread across his face. ‘That’s amazing’ He breathed out as he glanced up at you. ‘The baby, it’s moving’ You breathed telling the others who were looking at you both intensely. ‘Lemme feel’ Morgan jumped from his seat speeding around the table. You grabbed his hand pressing it to the top of your stomach.
He beamed down at you when he felt it. ‘That’s my baby Derek’ Spencer breathed looking up at him with wet eyes. ‘Sure is Kid, you did one hell of a job. You got a kicker’ Derek nodded. Spencer beamed looking back at your blouse covered stomach in awe. You reached out running your fingers through Reid's hair. ‘Alright move sugar, mama wants to feel’ Penelope swatted at Derek as she hurried into the room.
Each of the team took turns over the next 20 minutes to feel when the baby decided to move again. It was the first time you could really feel it, sure you had felt it move before but it was strong really strong now. Spencer had pulled his chair right over to you not having moved his hand since they had started moving.
You seen him smiled out of the corner of your eye every time the baby moved.

Nine Months - Spencer Reid Imagine
Part 2
Spencer x Pregnant!Reader
Summary: Spencer helps his girlfriend through her pregnancy taking everything in as he goes.
Part 1
Warning: Implied Smut, then again she’s pregnant so.....that’s kind of already implied...
Six Months.
You sat in your apartment feet up on the coffee table in front of you watching TV. Hotch had given you the day off because they had solved the case yesterday but were coming home this morning. Your ears perked up when you heard the sound of keys. Spencer was back. You wondered if he had come straight from the airport or had he made a pitstop at his own flat first. ‘Spencer’ You called. You heard someone in your kitchen and went to stand pushing yourself up. ‘Stay’ Spencer shouted back at you and you sighed.
A moment later he was sitting beside you handing you a bowl of ice cream. ‘Oh you perfect man’ You took the bowl leaning over to kiss him. ‘How have you been?’ He pulled away from your and stroked your swollen stomach. ‘Tired, and my feet are swollen, I think’ He looked down at your feet contemplation something pulling his lips into his mouth. ‘I’m fine, how was the flight back’ Spencer groaned leaning back
You tilted your head. It didn’t look that bad out the flight should have been smooth. ‘I’m sorry, I read a foot massage helps but-’ He paused and closed his eyes rubbing the side of his nose. ‘A kiss helps just as much’ You soothed him. ‘I have been thinking. When we have the baby. It would be irrational to have two apartments and keep moving between the two as we do now’ He opened his eyes and looked over at you. ‘You sleep in mine most nights, it is closer to the BAU. We should sell your apartment and you will move in with me. It is the most logical solution’ Your eyes widened.
You had not been expecting this, sure, you were pregnant with his kid but Spencer always took this relationship slowly. You may have been in a relationship for almost two years but you two hadn’t officially moved in together. You slept in his every few nights and he slept in yours, sometimes you both went home separately but every since he had found out you were pregnant, if he was here you both slept in the same apartment. Usually his. ‘Is that your way of asking me to move in with you?’ You asked after swallowing some ice cream putting down the bowl.
He nodded. ‘We will need to do a lot of work, baby proof the entire apartment. I will have to put some things in storage but yes, I want you to move in with me’ You let out a high pitched squeal and launched yourself at him as best you could. ‘Yes, of course’ You wrapped your arms around his neck as he grunted. His hands landed on your hips pushing you back. ‘Careful Y/n’ He scolded but you seen the smile on his face. ‘Oh shut up and kiss me Reid’ You pulled him towards you.
Six and a half months
You groaned tossing again. You rose from the bed walking down the hallway of your now shared apartment, well almost shared, you still had some things to bring over. A few last boxes and suitcases. Stopping in the kitchen you grab a glass of water making your way back to the bedroom. ‘You seem irritated tonight? Are you not comfortable?’ Spencer sat up in bed rubbing his eyes. You smiled as the covers fell down off his bare chest. You almost groaned. ‘I’m fine’ You placed the glass on the bedside table not even drinking it. ‘I’m a profiler, I know when my girlfriend is not telling me something’ He leaned towards you. ‘Is it the baby?’ His hand ran over your stomach.
You shook your head. ‘I want you Spence’ You whispered’ He leaned back slightly opening his arms. ‘No, Spencer, not-not’ You let out a long sigh running your hand over your face. You jumped slightly as you felt Spencer take your wrist moving it away from your face. ‘Y/n?’ You leaned forwards climbing onto the bed. ‘I mean-’ With that you leaned forwards. You took his face in your hands pulling his lips up to meet yours.
You lips moulded together in a deep kiss. One of Spencer’s hands gripped your hair pulling you to him. His other gripped your arm.His tongue darted across yours and you opened your own only happy to feel him again. Then suddenly he pulled away. ‘Y/n’ He warned slightly. ‘Please Spence, god. I need you so badly. Four months, four long months’ You let one of your hands drift down over his chest your nails skimming over his skin. ‘We-’ He shuddered when your hand slipped into his pyjama bottoms.
Spencer groaned closing his eyes. ‘It’s okay, with the baby and all. I called the Doctor, Spencer’ You told him. ‘She said it’s fine, it won’t hurt the baby. Please Spencer I need you so badly right now, please’ You begged him your hand working on him. ‘Spence baby’ You changed tactics purring when you seeing that wasn’t the way to go. His eyes shot open. ‘If you’re hurting you tell me, if anything feels off, you tell me’ He ordered and you nodded quickly. ‘I promise’ Spencer then pulled your lips back to his
Six and a half Months
You watched as Morgan laid another box on the ground. ‘I can even bring up a suitcase, there is an elevator’ You sighed coming into the room. Your arm was wrapped around your middle cradling your eyer growing belly. You were getting quite large now and it was really beginning to affect you. Reid was over protective not letting you do anything but what was recommended in the hundreds of baby books he had read. You could hardly bend over, you definitely couldn’t lift anything too heavy. Even at work they had started to stop you from doing the even slightly heavy work.
Morgan laughed. ‘I would say you could drag a suitcase to an elevator and then to the apartment but I don’t think Daddy would agree princess’ Morgan chuckled kissing you and rubbing your stomach. You groaned nodding. ‘Is everything okay?’ Reid asked coming in with a box and dropping it to the floor with a huff. ‘You need a hand?’ You asked for the hundredth time. ‘You’ve asked me that 67 times, the answer is still no, I have Morgan’ He scolded you before smoothing your hair off your face kissing your temple. ‘But, would you make us some coffee?’ He smiled.
You knew what he was trying to do. you were a profiler long enough to know. He was trying to keep you preoccupied when him and Morgan did it. Try to make you feel less useless. You were grateful for it even though you knew what he was doing. He was always doing it, always making you do easy but more or less useless things. To make you feel helpful and keep you busy. ‘Two coffees coming right up’ You nodded pottering back to the kitchen.
Seven Months
Sitting in the office you pushed yourself up from the desk when you seen the team was back. ‘Baby’ You opened your arms holding them up. Spencer rushed over to you. He had been gone almost a whole week with this new case. He took his bag off dropping it at your feet before wrapping his arms around you. You put your hands on either side of his head pulling him in for a kiss. He smiled into the kiss his hands running up and down your sides.
He pulled away looking down at you. ‘Eh’ He cleared his throat. ‘Ilike this reaction’ You rolled your eyes. ‘A week is a long time Spencer’ You scolded him and he nodded. He dropped to his knees his hand on either side of your swollen belly. ‘Hi Baby, you haven’t been giving your Mom too much trouble?’ He beamed as the baby began to kick at where his hands were. ‘Does that answer your question? I ran out of ice cream, twice’ You sighed and he looked up at you.
You brushed the hair from his eyes. ‘We will grab some when we go home, eh, strawberry right?’ He raised his eyebrows trying to remember which flavour you were craving this week, it changed so regularly now. ‘What did I do to deserve you’ You beamed down at him. You seen him blush slightly before he averted his eyes from you back to your stomach.
The rest of the team watching your interaction from the doorway all with smiles on their faces. Who would have known? Spencer Reid was going to be a father to your baby. When you both had met each other no one would have pegged it, even when you had told the team you two were on a date they couldn’t have believed it. Derek had even thought you were playing a prank on them. But watching you both now, it should have been obvious. The constant light touches to Spencer’s hair as he stroked your side and talked to the baby, they wondered how they could have missed how this would happen. That kind of love didn’t just grow overnight.
Eight Months
Hotch and Gideon had insisted that you take the month coming up to your due date off. When Spencer had heard this he was fully supportive of it saying the stress of the job could cause you to go into an early labour. You were so bored. Spencer had even banned you from doing anything major with the nursery he had spent the last two months trying, and failing in his own mind, to perfect. Spencer had been a little upset when you had started to take apart his study to make room for the baby but had quickly gotten fully on board. After all, it had been his idea.
You readjusted the baby com you had bought. ‘Y/n?’ Spencer called walking into the flat. ‘In here’ You shouted back. ‘Hi’ He smiled and you giggled as the baby began to kick. ‘Is the baby doing it again?’ He laughed happiness dancing in his eyes. You nodded holding your stomach. Spencer walked over to you. He pressed his hands to your stomach feeling your baby move. ‘Every time they hear Daddy’s voice’ You mused.
It was true, almost every time Spencer talked the baby moved. You presumed it had something to do with the fact that any spare moment he had he would lie down and just speak to them. You had learned more these past few months then you had in your entire life, just from Spencer’s constant ramblings. ‘BAby likes my voice’ He smiled and kissed your forehead. ‘I hope you did not try put anything together while I was gone’ You rolled your eyes.
Walking over towards the window you took a seat on the rocking chair you had brought from your old apartment. ‘I didn’t touch a thing, promise’ He nodded as and you stood. ‘I made dinner though’ You held out your hand to him and he smiled taking it.
Eight Months
You giggled as Spencer groaned dropping another part getting frustrated. ‘For a genius you think you could put together some kiddies furniture’ He looked up at you stopping his work. ‘Okay, here’ You stood from the rocking chair walking over to him. Slowly you bent your knees. ‘Woah, woah’ Spencer instantly reached out from your holding your weight as you sunk to the ground. ‘I’ll help you, and no scolding’ You pointed your finger at him seeing his lips already parted and his eyebrows furrowed that cute little wrinkle deep between them.
Spencer held up his hands and you picked up the instructions. ‘Okay let’s get started’ You began to read the instructions as Spencer again tried to get the leg on. ‘Spence, you’ve got the wrong leg, thats for the back’ You peeked around the instructions. ‘And you call yourself a genius’ You scoffed with a smile. Spencer looked up at you. ‘Well, actually. I’ve never wanted to call myself a genius it is usually other people who label me with that title. You can not put a measurement on intelligence’ You dropped the piece of paper and grabbed his hand. ‘Sorry, sorry. I get it’ You patted his knuckles and he pursed his lips nodding slightly. ‘My genius’ You breathed pulling his hand up to your lips and he smiled.
Eight Months
You waddled into the office. ‘Y/n?’ Emily looked up from her desk first. ‘Hey guys’ You waved at them. Spencer jumped from his seat. ‘What are you doing here?’ He whispered as he wrapped an arm around you guiding you towards his seat. He made you sit. ‘I’m here to talk to Hotch’ You chuckled. ‘Or did you forget?’ He furrowed his eyebrows perching himself on the edge of the desk. You picked up a file looking through it. ‘Today?’ He asked incredulously. ‘I thought you were going to leave it until after the baby was born?’ You closed the file and looked up at him a bored look on your face. ‘Spence, I told you this last night, I decided I wanted to get it done and over with before the baby is born so I’ll have no distractions’ You crossed your arms over your chest.
His eyes widened slightly. ‘Is that when?’ You nodded. ‘You were talking to the baby about theory of-oh- I forget- Quantum?’ You searched your mind trying to think of the long complicated theory Spencer had lay on the bed beside your stomach rumbling. ‘Theory of Quantum Entanglement, and if you were not listening to me -’ He left it at that and you sighed. You threw your hands up in the air rolling your eyes. ‘Okay, well’ You shrugged. ‘Sorry, I did come late though so we could go get a take-away on the way home I’m craving pizza’ You beamed up at him
Spencer couldn’t seen to stay angry at you lately, he couldn’t even stay aggravated with you for more than a dozen seconds. He didn’t know what it was about the way you waddled trying to get around with that swollen belly, carrying his child. But it meant you had him completely under the thumb. Anything you wants, anything, Spencer would have it for you as soon as he could. Every odd night he would run you a bath with those smelly things and flowers just to see your face light up, and to see the relaxation take you away when you climbed in.
All he wanted was to make you happy.
You reached out to him and Spencer helped you up from the swivelly chair. ‘I’m going to go talk to Hotch, if I’m finished before you I’m heading down to Garcia’ Spencer nodded kissing your cheek before helping you up the steps.
Hotch sat in front of you staring at the papers. ‘You want to retire?’ He looked up at you. ‘Not retire, more like get out of the field, when I have the baby’ You laid a hand on your stomach. ‘Both me and Spencer can’t be always gone one of us needs to step back and I want it to be me. We’ve already talked about it, I’ve looked into a few new things, places that want my expertised but I won’t have to travel, I just wanted to let you know’ Hotch sighed before nodding. ‘I get it, I understand how hard it is on children having one of us doing this job, it would be horrible with two’ You reached out and took his hand. ‘You’re the best Aaron’ You smiled. ‘Here, let me help you down the steps’ He stood and you pushed yourself up standing.
Eight and a half Months
Spencer stood outside Hotch’s door not sure whether he should knock or not. Well he knew he should knock just not whether he should ask or not. How would Hotch take it? Shaking his head he knocked. ‘Come in’ His boss's voice carried through the door. He opened it peeking in. ‘Eh, Hotch, can I talk to you for a minute?’ Hotch looked up from his desk. ‘Sure, take a seat’ Spencer shuffled into the room closing the door behind him before walking over to the seat and sitting.
It took him about a minute to talk. ‘Um, Y/n is due in two weeks and I was wondering-’ His tongue darting out to wet his lips. ‘I don’t want to miss it, it’s our first child and, well, I want to be there’ Hotch stayed silent looking at him expectantly. ‘I want to take a week off, I don’t want to be somewhere else when she goes into labour and I don’t want to miss my child’s first few days. I need to stay’ Spencer was confident at the end of it. He knew he needed to stay. ‘One week’ Hotch nodded going back to his files.
Eight and a half Months
You ly on the couch a bowl of ice cream on your chest as you listened to Spencer speak. His head was on your thighs as he held the book in his hands. It was some really complicated physics book that you didn’t even understand half of the words he said. One of his hands graced over the bottom of your tummy as he stopped talking for a second. The baby kicked. You laughed. ‘I think they want you to stay going’ Spencer laughed and began reading again.
You jolted as someone poked you. ‘Y/n, come to bed baby’ Spencer. You grumbled opening your eyes. You must have fallen asleep. Reaching out he wrapped his arms around you helping you to your feet before bringing you to the bedroom.
You curled up as soon as you got into bed your eyes drifting closed. Spencer lay down beside you kissing your forehead. ‘Goodnight’ He whispered. You grunted not able to say anything else. He chuckled. His hand smoothed over your bump. ‘Two more weeks’ He whispered. ‘Two more weeks and I’ll get to meet you, we’ll get to see what our baby looks like’ If you weren’t so sleepy you would have smiled. ‘The team, they’ll love you, how could they not, for the last seven months you’ve been in everyone’s minds’ You sighed happily listening to him talk.
The baby moved responding to him. ‘You like my voice?’ He chuckled softly. ‘I can’t wait to hear your voice, you’ll have the cutest voice, I can tell already’ He paused. ‘Well, that can’ be proven and I’m sure others may not think so but I promise, you will to me’ God, Spencer was perfect. ‘Two more weeks and you’ll be out here, promise me you’ll be good to your Mom when I go, she’s given up something that means the world to her for you. She was the best agent we had, now she wants to be with you. You’re so lucky, you’ll get to spend all that time with her. I used to, we used to work together. It’s how I met her’ At this point Spencer’s voice seemed a world away.
Distant and floaty. ‘I’ll be so jealous of you. She’s one of the greatest people you’ll ever meet, but don’t lie to her, she knows’ He chuckled again. ‘I talked to your grandma yesterday, after you’re born she’s coming up to see you. She’ll love you, just as much as we do. She’s so excited about you, she’s always asking, everytime I talk to her she asks about yo-’ And with that you fell asleep.
Nine Months
You opened the cabinet looking for the mouthwash. ‘Spencer have yo-’ You only got halfway through that when you gasped. ‘Spencer’ You screamed your voice high pitched. There was a loud bang and loud hurried footsteps coming your way. ‘What’s wrong? Wh-’ He stopped in the doorway as you looked up from the floor to him. ‘My water just broke’ You whispered.
You grunted and squeezed Spencer’s hand when another contraction hit. ‘That’s almost two minutes apart’ Spencer informed you. ‘Just-please-we’re almost at the hospital’ He leans in kissing your cheek. ‘Ah’ You grunted again holding your stomach.
Spencer stands beside you pushing your hair back off your sweaty face. ‘You’re doing amazing, breath, breath, our baby will be here soon’ You grunted before letting out another scream. Then there was a cry filling the room.
Garcia’s name popped up on screen. Morgan answered. ‘Guys Garcia’s calling’ He called throughout the plane. ‘It’s not me’ Garcia giggled ‘It’s Spencer’ The whole team rushed gathering around the computer. ‘Go for gold daddy’ Garcia giggled.
They could hear Spencer breathing on the other end. ‘Daddy’ He breathed and then laughed a little. ‘Kid? You okay?’ Morgan looked at JJ who shrugged. ‘I’m a daddy, it’s a girl. Y/n had a girl. I have a daughter. I have a baby girl’ They could hear the tears in Spencer’s voice. The team looked at each other smiles on their faces ‘They’re okay, both of them. Wait, Y/n’s waking’ There was some muttering in the background.
Then a soft chuckle. ‘Hey guys, we had a girl, a baby girl’ You beamed still tired. Spencer looked up at you his eyes full of awe and adoration. ‘A baby girl’ He breathed. ‘Our baby girl’ He beamed leaning forwards. He knocked the phone from your hand as he grabbed your face. He pulled you into a deep urgent kiss one that tried to show how overwhelmed and happy he felt. Here she is’ You pulled away from Spencer your eyes on the nurse.
She laid the baby in your arms. She was so small, and fragile. Spencer picked up the phone noticing that there was cheering on the other end everyone shouting congratulations. ‘I’ll see you when you land’ He said and hung up leaning in. ‘How do you think Morgan will take being asked to be Godfather’ You glanced up at him but he just stared at her and wrapped an arm around you his hands soothing your hair ‘Our baby girl’ He smiled
Spencer leaned his head on yours his hand reaching out to smooth across her soft cheek. ‘She’s beautiful’ He breathed. ‘And so worth it, nine months that were definitely worth it’ Spencer nodded kissing your forehead before you both looked back at the small girl in your arms.
This was not meant to be so long....my bad
