Ive been replaying Breath of The Wild in the free time I have (had), so have some quick sketches of some Rito designs I thought might possibly be cool.
so, yeah I saw @zeldahijinks and @stitchesofsoulsart art chain for their rito hybrids (revali X zora/hylian) (which yes i agree, revali, what a hoe) but i notice a distinct non existant amount of kass chindlings. So I give you Arela, The awkward offspring of kass and a zora. I love her so much, she needs a little tweeking but here’s some concept art.
She’s a singer like her daddy, and jesus christ look at those dual talons.
also, where her forefins normally would be she has more like then fleshlike feathers, closely similar to a deep sea fish, its transluscent and lows in the dark.

I'm writing a fic for Legend of Zelda and I adore adding little tidbits to how the races act!
E.g. bcs Hylians have long ears due to being blessed by Hylia I hc that they express a lot of emotion through them such as their ears twitching when their nervous or going red in embarrassment
A lot of the fic is abt Rito culture too & how flocks are guided by sacred winds but I kinda allude to the wind of the flock in Hyrule actually being from the Stormwind Ark that guides them back whenever there's a great evil that the Sage of Winds needs to be awoken for

Kass, the bard & traveler .|| This fella was a challenge to draw but one that I've learned a lot from! Kass is the beloved bard from BoTW and in a way a companion- that while he doesn't travels fully everywhere with Link, he does joins him in his own way. The rito also has the task to guide the fallen champion in order to finish the war that had occurred 100 years ago. Something that caught my attention was the absence of the bard during ToTK. While many panic or are saddened- I just like to think that the rito followed his dreams in traveling and playing his ballads for the entire world to enjoy.

a quick sketch for @ask-frostfall of his Crow as a Rito, I’ve had this idea in my head for months but I could just never find the time to draw it XC finally I did though! Not as nicely drawn as I would have liked it but this’ll do for now~
Fully agreed. I love both Revali and Teba as characters, but their roles are scripted and only essential to the story and, sadly, they aren't able to escape their roles in the rest of BotW.
When I play the game I'm legit always happy to see Kass pop up! The sense of being alone in BotW is there big time, even when I encounter other NPCs and salespeople they just don't... I don't really feel anything.
Kass is different, though. He's a traveling bard that plays a role to help bolster you on your quest. He's adventurous, he's friendly, and he SHOWS these qualities rather than just saying "I'm the adventurous type" and nothing else happens. Plus, if you somehow want this, he is entirely optional to interact with (unless you play the Champion's Ballad but that's beside the point). So, whenever you see him, your emotions can range from indifferent to ecstatic instead of annoyed.
Part of me wishes there were more characters like this in games, but that might take away that warm happiness an NPC like Kass can give.

You know, I've always found it weird how Kass is EVERYWHERE I go lately in my circles. Kass here, Kass there! People on my twitter timeline sharing Kass pics, People on my Discord sharing Kass art. Everyone always goes on about how he's so handsome and cool and everyone seems to forget that he has a wife and children, but why? It makes you wonder how he got so popular while Revali/Teba are often forgotten about in comparison. I know Revali is dead and all, but still. Is Kass simply Immortal?
Revali and Teba, while distinct in their individual personalities, are still effectively “moments in time” of the adventure regardless; that means they are met, experienced, assisted, and then moved on from in order to seek what else exists in the land.
To my knowledge, Kass is not limited by this - he is an active role in the player’s entire adventure, offering knowledge and input on ALL of the Champions (and even the DLC challenges!) as Link continues to grow and explore. The player comes to expect - even anticipate - future meetings with Kass, which creates a sense of need and attachment.
With this in mind, it doesn’t surprise me at all that the Rito who we spend the most *active* time with also ended up becoming the most loved.
Breath of the Wild is full of beautiful birds
Rito Jade is said to resemble the Rito's-eye view of Hyrule—the cracked green stone and blue impurities that cement them like the fields and rivers of her great plains.
Four stones, cut and polished, and a golden bezel holding them together, make a beautiful jewelry in the shape of the Rito crest.
The second of four renders taking my initial 3D models of @anartweirdosworld's earrings and giving them materials befitting of their design.
Blender Eevee is not perfectly suited to this material given its procedurally-driven opaque cracks, and I'm not good enough with geometry nodes to add the cracks that way, but I'm pleased enough with the results.

Me and @socrateaser-rps-and-randomess Always love to come up with new characters ideas together or flat out put ourselves in different settings and have us transforming in different species that belong to that universe.
Of course he looooooves to be huge and i love me some size difference where i can be the smaller One >< so you can immagine where we're going with this 😝

I need to rework the little guy again though because his shape back then was actually perfect
I've seen your dragons! Oh so lovely and nice, good art and all! And ive seen you do others in dragon forms, Zelda, that shadow girl I can't remember her name(srry) and I wondered... what would other species look like as dragons? Gorons, gurudo, the bird people and fish people. I'd say it be interesting to see it all!
