i say i kinda like rodrift yet im slowly starting to not personally like it because i dont SEE it. drift didn't explicitly accept rodimus's apology in issue 51... i think that means hes still mad about the overlord situation, but can't seem to say no to his apology.

i also heard that rodimus and drift are an unbalanced power dynamic. i remember saying that rodimus and getaway are quite literally parallel characters, but rodimus is just seen as good because it's told by his perspective.

a tiktok i saw about them said things about how rodimus and drift's relationship are quite the same as getaway and tailgate's, minus the creepy stuff (i'd get into that with another rant, probably), but it's more about the dynamic, and to put it simply? rodimus's significant influence on drift made it an unbalanced power dynamic. he did this because of his low self-worth, which he is EXTREMELY conscious about, and maybe that's a stretch, but james roberts said it himself. that's why drift—to put it in brainrot terms—glazes him so much.

i stand by that mainly because i don't fangirl over rodimus because hes pretty, since when we are all blinded by the moon we forget about the stars, i analyze his character. and just so you know, i don't analyze characters that were/is my favorite, unfortunately 😓

and i'm gonna cut it short here; it's almost 1 am, i have school, and if i continued, i'd just be comparing rodimus and getaway together. i'm talking about how i personally don't see rodrift as a romantical and serious relationship, but only as a friendship.

in conclusion? friends with benefits, one-sided love (cough cough rodimus), hanahaki disease material. do what you want with that information.
