South Pacific AU

Muse A is a wealthy plantation owner and single father living on a South Pacific island. Muse B is small town girl and a nurse working for the U.S. Navy. Happy-go-lucky Muse B and reserved, quiet Muse A meet at the officer’s club dance. They are immediately interested in one another, and start spending time with each other regularly. Muse A eventually reveals that he has two children, and that his wife, who was a dark-skinned Polynesian woman, passed away many years before. Muse B, unable to overcome her deep-seated racial prejudices, leaves Muse A. After this, Muse A is approached by the Navy men, who ask him to help on a dangerous mission, feeling dejected because of his love, he agrees to help them. Muse B soon learns that Muse A went on this dangerous mission, and starts to worry when she hears that one of the Navy men was killed and that Muse A has gone missing. While he his still missing, Muse B goes to visit his children -- realizing that she was foolish to be prejudice against them -- and she grows to love them as if they were her own. When Muse A returns home, he finds Muse B with his children and sees that she has overcome her racial prejudices and fallen in love with his children.

{The original setting for this musical is WWII, but you can set this in any time or place.}

Mary Poppins AU

Muse A is nanny who is rather unique, and of course, practically perfect in every way. She often blows into town whenever people need her, then leaves as soon as her work is done. Muse B is a low class chimney sweep who has taken a liking to Muse A over the years of her blowing in and out of town, and the two of them have become close friends. While Muse A teaches and takes care of her current family, it becomes clear that Muse B’s feelings have developed past just friendship, and wishes for Muse A to stay with him, but Muse A is quick to remind him that she must leave when she has finished her work.

Scenario 1

Muse A is a compulsive gambler who runs an illegal, floating craps game in the city. Muse B is a showgirl who performs regularly at a night club. the two of them have been engaged for 14 years, and after one of her shows, Muse B asks Muse A once again to go to city hall for a marriage license. After getting caught by the police for running his illegal gambling ring, Muse A covers by telling the cops that he and his friends are setting up for his bachelor party, and he decided to elope with Muse B. The next night, Muse A doesn’t show up for the elopement because he was busy running his gambling ring, and stood Muse B up once again...

Scenario 2

Muse A is a charming man, but a compulsive gambler. Muse B is a prim and proper Salvation Army officer. One day, Muse A’s friend makes a bet with him -- he must get any woman of his friend’s choice to go to dinner with him. Muse A takes the bet, and his friend chooses Muse B -- thinking it is a bet easily won. Muse A goes to Muse B and claims he wanted to be “saved” and impresses Muse B with his knowledge of the Bible. Muse A promises that he will bring “one dozen genuine sinners” to the mission branch, if she accompanies him on a trip to Cuba the next day. Afterwards, the head of the of the mission goes to Muse B and tells her that her branch will close if she does not start to bring in more people, and she promises her boss that she will bring in “one dozen genuine sinners” at the next meeting, thereby accepting Muse A’s deal. Once in Cuba, Muse B accidentally becomes drunk and kisses Muse A, admitting that she was genuinely having fun for the first time in her life. And Muse A consequently realizes that he is falling in love with Muse B...

Hades

In Greek mythology, Hades was regarded as the oldest son of Cronus and Rhea, although the last regurgitated by his father. He and his brothers Zeus and Poseidon defeated their father’s generation of gods, the Titans, and claimed rulership over the cosmos. Hades received the underworld, Zeus the air, and Poseidon the sea, with the solid earth—long the province of Gaia—available to all three concurrently. Hades was often portrayed with his three-headed guard dog Cerberus and, in later mythological authors, associated with the Helm of Darkness and the bident. (x)

Persephone

Upon his entry to the Underworld, the messenger Hermes was amazed at what he found. Instead of finding a frail and fearful Persephone, he found a radiant and striking Queen of the Dead. She had adjusted well to her new position, saying she had even found her calling. The Goddess was now in charge of greeting the new arrivals and helping them adapt to their new life. While she wished to see her mother up above, she was torn by her desire to remain Hades’ wife. (x)
