it's really easy to memorize most of the time too. the game names are gold and silver so their names are gold and silver. Sapphire and Ruby are named that because. Ruby and Sapphire versions
Steven Universe Pride [Wedding Scene]
I just realized Steven Universe was kinda my first introduction into LGBTQ kinda stuff, more specifically the wedding episode. Honestly zero idea what gender or pronoun Ruby and Sapphire go by at this point since it's been years, but I'm assuming it's.. kinda same sex..?? I don't know, I googled like the wedding episode and one of the images says 'LGBT History with Same-Sex Wedding' so uhh... yeah.
It was also my introduction to people appearing one way while is another. Like if you were to wear feminine clothing but are a male, or vice versa. Since I wasn't aware of same sex relationships and only knew of male x female, I kinda thought Ruby was male and Sapphire was a female but then it didn't make sense to me when Ruby wore a dress and Sapphire wore a suit but like happy fun times so I didn't question it? Steven Universe quite literally just normalized me into this sort of stuff before I even really knew about it, or even that there was supposedly anything wrong about it.
I just thought 'huh' and just stopped questioning it lmao.
Don't get me wrong though, sometimes Steven Universe is kinda an ehh show, but I think they did pretty well on making it seem normalized and not that big of a deal?
So that was nice.
Also apparently there were struggles due to this kind of content according to Rebecca Sugar so. ..oh..???? but hey good job at making it seem like not a big deal so people dont think it is and think of it in a more positive light [honestly i dont know who wouldn't enjoy the garnet ship thing. ..well you know what i mean]
