i mean theres death and misery and reminders of what's lost soaked into the very floorboards, stained carpets and horror stacking up, tragedy you can touch and something you can't look in the eyes waiting with your blood under its nails. but there is also sugar on the table.
there are pictures on the wall and dishes in the sink and beds with extra blankets and laughing you can hear from the stairwell, and i mean you know who it is because you've heard it enough and you know hes throwing his head back because that's how he sounds when he laughs that hard, and I mean sometimes youll still take a blanket from your bed and sit under it with her because it feels even more like home that way. sometimes youll find your clean laundry on your bed and it's still warm.
I mean it is so so so cold outside and its cold inside here too, but ours is a different cold. cold like a hand in yours right before you grab it with your other to bring warmth. it's a gentle kind of thawing when you feel boiling waters steam on your cheeks and it's a gentle kind of thawing when you start to hear the house creaking as a contented sigh, and then you'll sigh too, and i mean theres death and misery and reminders of what's lost soaked into the very floorboards, but when its spring again we'll do spring cleaning together like those happy families on tv. there is sugar on the table for you because someone remembered how you like your tea.
Lockwood smiled.

Headcanon of after TEG and L&Co has become famous.
Lockwood will walk through the park and children will be dressed up like him and pretend sword-fighting with each other and saying, "No, no, I want to play Lockwood this time!" And Lockwood is just chuffed about it, and Lucy shakes her head until the day when a little girl runs up to her with a bob cut and little black boots with blue laces and she's like,
"Ms. Lucy, you're my idol!!"
First chapter is up!
After reading the Lockwood and Co. series a million times, and watching the show as much, there’s only one word I can find to describe Lucy and Lockwood’s relationship. And that’s DEVOTION.
Lockwood is so utterly devoted to Lucy. Not just because he has survivors guilt because his sister died and he lived, and he wasn’t able to save her when he had the chance. Not just because Lucy and Jessica are very similar in their character in some ways, and Lucy reminds him of her. Not just because he loves her.
Lockwood is devoted to Lucy because he’s terrified of losing one more person and having to live with the shame and emotional torture that he could have prevented it. He’s devoted to her because of her Talent, and how that leaves her vulnerable and weaker in certain moments. He feels that he HAS to guard that weakness for her, step in the line of fire every time. And as he does this, I feel as though it’s healing something inside of him: the doubt that he’s not capable to protect those he loves. He feels like he’s proving himself every time he saves her, trying to prove to Jessica that he can and he will NOT fail this time. He’s the one who should be sleeping in that empty grave. Not her. He feels like the universe has given him one more chance to prove himself, and it gives him Lucy. So he holds so tight to her, watches her every move, forcing himself to grow up and out of the childlike immaturity of his that caused Jessica to die in the first place. He thinks if he can just keep pushing, just keep praying, just keep sacrificing himself for Lucy, that when the moment comes and he dies, he’ll die in peace. Peace, knowing he succeeded this time in protecting the one he loved even though it cost him his life.
