ā¢Summaryā¢
In the last heatwave of the season, Lucy realizes her fan is broken.
Lockwoodās fan is not.
Heās a big problem solver here; give him some grace.

Nobody:
Lockwoodās suit collection: š¤š¤š¤š¤
Lockwoodās sock collection: š©·ššš
(Also, headcanon that Lockwoodās colorful socks are really just Jessicaās and he canāt bring himself to get rid of them so he wears them instead.)
Reporter: So, Mr. Lockwood, can you give us a few words on this Lucy Carlyle?
Lockwood: Sheās the most wonderful associate, and Iām so grateful to have her by my side.
Reporter: Weāve received news that your relationship might not be completely platonic and work related.
Lockwood. Nonsense. We are nothing but good friends working as a team.
*Harold Mailer in the background*
Harold: Hullo, Lucy! I love your new rapier.
Lucy: Thanks, Harold.
Lockwood: Step away from her right now good Sir!!
Harold: Shove off, Lockwood.
*Lockwood promptly pushes Harold out in front of a streetcar.*
Reporter: *š§*ā¦.
Lockwood: So sorry, what were you saying?
No one:
Lockwoodās card for Georgeās birthday:
āI was gonna buy you flowers of pink and blue and red, but canāt you please get up now, and make breakfast instead??ā
Much love,
Anthony Lockwood
P.S.- Flo is ruining our carpet with her muddy wellies in the sitting room, and Lucy is burning your cake.
Headcanon of after TEG and L&Co has become famous.
Lockwood will walk through the park and children will be dressed up like him and pretend sword-fighting with each other and saying, "No, no, I want to play Lockwood this time!" And Lockwood is just chuffed about it, and Lucy shakes her head until the day when a little girl runs up to her with a bob cut and little black boots with blue laces and she's like,
"Ms. Lucy, you're my idol!!"
First chapter is up!
After reading the Lockwood and Co. series a million times, and watching the show as much, thereās only one word I can find to describe Lucy and Lockwoodās relationship. And thatās DEVOTION.
Lockwood is so utterly devoted to Lucy. Not just because he has survivors guilt because his sister died and he lived, and he wasnāt able to save her when he had the chance. Not just because Lucy and Jessica are very similar in their character in some ways, and Lucy reminds him of her. Not just because he loves her.
Lockwood is devoted to Lucy because heās terrified of losing one more person and having to live with the shame and emotional torture that he could have prevented it. Heās devoted to her because of her Talent, and how that leaves her vulnerable and weaker in certain moments. He feels that he HAS to guard that weakness for her, step in the line of fire every time. And as he does this, I feel as though itās healing something inside of him: the doubt that heās not capable to protect those he loves. He feels like heās proving himself every time he saves her, trying to prove to Jessica that he can and he will NOT fail this time. Heās the one who should be sleeping in that empty grave. Not her. He feels like the universe has given him one more chance to prove himself, and it gives him Lucy. So he holds so tight to her, watches her every move, forcing himself to grow up and out of the childlike immaturity of his that caused Jessica to die in the first place. He thinks if he can just keep pushing, just keep praying, just keep sacrificing himself for Lucy, that when the moment comes and he dies, heāll die in peace. Peace, knowing he succeeded this time in protecting the one he loved even though it cost him his life.
I feel like one of the many reasons Lockwood has such an ego complex, such a desire to be great and famous, and to make the Lockwood name go down in history is because itās what his parents deserved, and they never received any of the fame. And by gods, if no one will give them credit for solving the Problem and being two of the brightest researchers of their age, heāll make their name great despite it.
He might have failed once, but he wonāt do it again.
Heāll make them proud to call him their son.
Readers being like, āWhy do none of the characters in L&Co own a vehicle??ā
Could you imagine the mayhem, chaos, and utter madness a car would add to the series??
*Lockwood careening madly around a corner*
Lucy: *sitting in the passenger seat* Do you know how to drive?!
Lockwood: Of course not! But Iām fabulous at everything else; this should be a breeze!
George: Kipps, itās time to revoke his license.
Kipps: Trust me, if we get through this in one piece, Iām buying scooters for every one of you!
Realizing that Lockwood was protecting Lucy the whole time by taking all the fame and attention onto his shoulders. He wasnāt the one who shouldāve been praised, it was Lucy. He was just a screen that was pulled down to protect her and her gift.

Lucy Carlyle & Anthony Lockwood LOCKWOOD & CO. 1.03
You know I think that fight with the golden sword at that auction literally represented their whole relationship. Like thereās Lockwood fighting toe to toe with the guy and all this fancy work, and then when he fails Lucy just beams the guy over the head (with a literal beam). Like. Heās all pompous and stuff and she just gets it done.
Something about... THIS scene

And... ngngnfnds it's something about Lucy not being herself // Lockwood being TOO much of himself...
The words are coming from Lucy's mouth, but they aren't hers; those are Lucy's hands, but she isn't the one using them... an otherworldly force chose Lockwood to be her scene partner here, and once again it's about external voices seeing Lucy's feelings for him before she knows it herself...
And then there's something about how it's in direct contrast to Lockwood, who is PARTICULARLY aware of himself in that moment... this is one of the few times we get a full scene of Lockwood stripped down to a tshirt+hoodie instead of his usual suit+tie number (my brain is buzzing over this, since I presume the suit is sort of a costume for him, with the purpose of masking his inner self/vulnerability)... AND ALSO because this is arguably the first physical romantic scene they share, and while he is clearly concerned and confused about her behavior, the fact that he is having to reckon with Feeling Something Else Too is written all over his face...
I know this take isn't super book-accurate, but it feels almost allegorical to this idea that Lockwood is the one who is being caught off guard and having to realize his feelings early on... versus Lucy, who is there, and she's participating in the dance, but she's also being stopped from experiencing her feelings to the fullest by something within her...
Anyway, I'm sorry this is an absolute rambling MESS because my brain doesn't quite have its thoughts together, but I needed to post this right now immediately, hope you all understand š
best headcannon I ever discovered was definitely "kipps is from lucy's old town. he was on her team." because damn it is so fun to imagine them getting in a fight when they first meet at the archives and then there's just the rest of them wondering what the hell is going on you guys don't know how many times ive redone this scenario in my head
i ship Lucy and norrie so much (what is their ship name-? Lorrie? Lucie??) it can be romantic or plantonic I don't care these two are made for each other soulmates fr they are like the meme "do you think we're friends in every universe?" "I hope so" and they are. these two are perfect if i see someone hating on this ship I will kindly remind them why it is amazing even as just friends.
au where Norrie dies by Lucy's side after getting ghost touched while Lucy's like doing one specific thing (like idk singing her a song or reading her a book) so now when lockwood or George do that thing she just quietly leaves the room and tries not to cry as she thinks about norrie
fall in love with a girl is so Lucy x Norrie (it's actually all lesbian ships but shhhhh I'm on a l&c train today) and yes it's from Norrie's perspective she had a bad time dating a guy and when Lucy came along she just. took her in. made her feel nice and amazing and wanted. Her home life is bad, so just get a new home. with her gf. a second family *cough* amity *cough* anyway uh I love these two so much I might post about them more. oh I need to talk about my little au thingy with them so badly. be aware that might be coming
I got so off topic wow
