Idk of it has a canon location but for the sake of fanfiction and pure vibes, I need ideas
i LOVE IT 😍😍
Mystery Inc. but it’s the 1890s

Who had late Victorian Scooby Doo on their 2024 bingo card? Hmm?
The idea came to me when I was thinking about Sherlock Holmes and then remembered the iconic mystery solving gang hehe

4 teens and a dog. Suddenly thought if this, probably because I've had scooby doo on the brain and it just made more and more sense the more I thought about it.
I sort of did a mashup of their designs and the scooby doo character designs.
Character on the right of Arven is my player character.

Thinking about how I would write an adult Scooby-Doo series, because I think it can be done.
The first thing I’d do is make the characters actually be adults. Still young, but adults, in the mid to late 20s range. Mystery Inc. is a private detective type business that they run together. In this universe, the supernatural/ghosts/etc are real, but not necessarily common, so when they take on a case, the culprit might be a person disguised as a monster, or it might actually be a real ghost. The stakes can be higher; sometimes a bad guy is legitimately trying to kill them. Sometimes the mystery they’re trying to solve is a murder. Sometimes they actually get hurt on their cases.
Fred: the core of Fred’s character should be that he’s incredibly kind. Like, give a stranger the shirt off his back kind. The “Fred can’t talk to potential clients because he might take a case for free and we need to eat” kind. He’s an honest and good person and sometimes gets himself into trouble because he assumes other people are too. While he’s not very good at reading people or noticing ulterior motives, he’s brilliant when it comes to mechanical or engineering type stuff, so he’s the one who keeps the mystery machine running, builds their gadgets, and of course, designs the traps.
Daphne: she comes from old money, and her parents absolutely despise her life choices, to the point where they haven’t officially disowned her, but they have basically cut her off, so she doesn’t actually have access to any family money. Growing up wealthy has granted her a variety of skills, including speaking multiple languages, horseback riding, and fencing. She’s very into fashion and jewelry (even if she can’t afford it anymore) and has extensive knowledge of both that can occasionally provide a vital clue in a case. And even though her parents have cut her off, Daphne still has a wide network of contacts she can ask for favors sometimes, because she’s personable, and people tend to like her. Daphne is also very emotionally intelligent, and is usually the one who can spot when someone is lying to them.
Side note - I ship Fred and Daphne, so I think I would start them off as an established couple for this universe. Dating, engaged, married, I don’t care. They are stupidly in love, ride or die for each other. There’s no will they, won’t they, no worries about cheating. They are in a healthy, happy, loving relationship, and no one (not even Daphne’s disapproving parents) are going to mess that up for them.
Velma: she is the forensics nerd who sometimes gets super excited about the wrong thing at the wrong time (”He was mummified in seconds? That’s so cool!” “Velma! His wife is standing right there!” “Oh. Sorry.”). She’s not purposely insensitive, she just gets laser focused on her work and forgets to filter herself sometimes. She’s also the one who can get so fixated on solving whatever mystery they’re working on, she’s willing to bend or maybe break laws. Is breaking and entering really so bad? Not if it gets them answers.
Shaggy: he is still the comic relief, but he’s the comic relief by being the only person in the group that actually has common sense. He manages the business’s finances, he’s the only one who knows how to cook, and the others tease him for being a coward sometimes, but Shaggy maintains that if a ghost with an axe is coming for you, running is the only sensible option. He should also have a range of random knowledge that sounds useless, but sometimes saves the day (ex ventriloquism, origami, the history of spoons, etc).
Scooby: as this is a universe where supernatural creatures exist, Scooby is an ancient eldritch type being that took a shine to Shaggy when he was a kid, and took the form of a talking dog to befriend and hang out with him. Aside from the talking dog bit and not aging, he never uses his powers in a way that anyone notices. The audience is not told upfront that Scooby is an ancient eldritch being; it should slowly be hinted at throughout the series so the audience put it together, but the characters never realize it. Scooby genuinely considers Shaggy to be his best friend, and cares about the rest of the gang too.
Anyone looking to make a proper Scooby-Doo adaptation please remember:
Fred is the charismatic face of the group and the strategizer. Later adaptations made him a massive himbo who chugs respect for women juice and those have become necessary parts of his character.
Shaggy is cowardly but also incredibly resourceful; let us not forget his skill at ventriloquism. Make Shaggy the skill monkey, who every episode mentions some weird skill he has that's previously unmentioned; that'd be an amazing running gag. Also, bring back the dry humor Casey Kasem injected into the og character.
Scooby is Shaggy's best friend, the other half to his two-man comedy routine. Independently of Shaggy, Scooby is also prone to be a bit mischievous and just kind of a little scamp. Play up both of those things.
Velma is the smart nerdy one, who also had a really dry sense of humor. I don't know why she was turned into the "I'm surrounded by idiots" character because, while as I stated, she always had a dry sense of humor, she was never mean to her friends and never talked down to them, or anyone else. Bring back the chipper Velma from like Witch's Ghost or Zombie Island. Let Velma be a little cutie pie. Also keep her as a lebian
Daphne was... originally really just "The Girly One" but later adaptations have fleshed her out, like making her essentially the muscle of the group, which is just amazing and should continue. She's also been cast as the oddly resourceful one. Shaggy is the skill monkey, Daphne is the one who has a tool for literally any job. Human Swiss Army Knife, which again, would be an amazing running gag.
Have Shaggy and Daphne bounce off-the-wall ideas for a plan together, Fred steps in to ground them, while still using their ideas, and incorporating Velma's theories about the case.
Make references to Flim Flam and Hot Dog Water
A Scooby-Doo adaptation should not be difficult, and must be done with love.

Hi, an addition to one of my Scooby Doo AUs, although i don't know if I posted about this specific one yet prior to this, its too long to say the entire story of the AU here, but here is Professor Pericles from it!
Or at least, three versions while i was character designing him.
I think you know which one i went with as his final human design. (Number 2, the one holding the disc piece).
In the story/AU, Professor Pericles is normally a human necromancer, hence the greenish tint to his skin. (Which i may or may not end up making less or more apparent as i continue to balance out colors as i continue to practice drawing him).
He has a pet parrot, which he sometimes transfers his soul/spirit to, which is what’s going on in the AU scenes where he is seen as a bird. (I don't know the parrot’s name when he is not controlling it at the moment, suggestions are welcome).
Any damage that is done to this bird, happens to his human body, but the damages done to the bird’s body is reversed/erased, when Pericles takes his human body back. The human body does not heal from the wounds though. So basically, there is no long lasting damages done to the bird, but definitely to the human body.
Anyway, expect some screencap redraws of Professor Pericles in the future!
I also apologize if i am misspelling Pericles’ name... i still don't know how to spell it.

Here is a screencap redraw of Professor Pericles and Ed!
Actually, all i know about Ed is that he worked for Mister E... other than that, i don't know too much about him.
But while scowering the internet for screencaps of Professor P, i found this scene and found it to be fun to redraw with my human counterpart for him!
And here it is! Yeah, i don't draw the backgrounds on my own, and the backgrounds belong to the original animators of Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated.
And i know, i didn't draw him in the classic Scooby Doo style, i am not going to be trying to do that for a while. If anything, i will be doing everything in my own style once i get to doing the official comic, if i ever get to doing it.

Here is part 1 of a remake of a scene in the Scooby Doo AU where Professor Pericles is a human Necromancer who can transfer his soul into his parrot.
I think you all can tell which scene this is...
And sorry for the bad Backhanded Slap pose, i know it just looks like he is shocked beyond belief, but... its supposed to be him backhanding slapping Mister E.
It’s difficult to translate a complex pose from Bird to human, especially when the internet image section doesn't provide me with good refs.
Either way, i think i did a pretty good job!
Part 2 might come late this week or mid next week, due to it being a bit longer than this one and the many events i have this week.

Part two to the other Human Pericles comic i did earlier.
Yes, i do realize that the line in page 3 is actually, “My Loyal Brad and Judy taught me of your little mutiny”, but i only realized that's what he said after finishing this panel and several others, and i did not, and still do not, have the energy to go back and fix it... i think we all get the gist of the scene and recognize it anyway.
I am extremely proud of pages 3, 7, 9, and 11, but especially 9. Holy crap did i do a good job on his face! Wish i could remember the color i used as the skin overlay though. I forgot it before i could get to the last panel, which is why the last panel doesn't have that overlay.
There was a final panel, which didn't need any editing as it just showed outside of their location and some laughing dialogue, and i didn't think it would be useful just to post a single slide that didn't seem to have any real connection either... so... it is no longer in the stretch.
Either way, this took like, 3 days to complete... and i really like how it turned out.

This is so stupid 😭 I’m sick as hell and feel like crap, I’m really into scooby doo rn and the thought of Pakkun as scooby made me giggle 🥰
Naruto as Fred also makes me giggle because they’re both so himbo so tisim so goofy 🥹💕💕
Do NOT repost, thank you
