Cats may fetch—but they prefer to be in control of the playtime, as you will guess.
Not only dogs, but certain cats also enjoy playing fetch, as revealed by recent research. A significant number of felines seem to have acquired this behavior independently, without deliberate training from their human companions. Interestingly, the study indicates that in most instances, these cats took the initiative to start and conclude the play sessions themselves. This implies that while cats may chase and bring back objects, they prefer doing so according to their own preferences, as detailed in a recent publication in Scientific Reports.

"Bring Back the Funk" concert on the Mall. Featuring the P-Funk All-Stars and the legendary George Clinton. The show was opened by neo-soul veteran Meshell Ndegeocello followed by the new orleans native band Dumpstaphunk. The show was the first of many to celebrate the new African American Museum of Heritage and Culture thats joining the Smithsonian in 2015. Tom Joyner also stopped by the nation's capital to host the show.
Dear TV, Desensitize me. Gimme more genocide please. The world is your aphrodisiac, so you stay turned on every minute, every second I breathe.

The right kind of hero, the wrong kind of environment.
While cover a fast food workers strike at the National Air and Space Museum last week, photographer Kristoffer Tripplaar was forcefully brought down by no less than three security guards when he accidentally bumped into one of them in an attempt to protect his equipment.
Overly aggressive guards.

I haven't been on tumblr in a while since my mood hit a point where I didn't feel like doing much of anything except what I needed to to get by. I'll get back to posting street shots when I get the chance to shoot but I've got other things I'm working on so who knows. Without getting too deep into specifics I've started a project about history/record-keeping/the flow of information so I'll be posting about that as well.
