Passing the (redstone) touch: Etho and Mumbo

Etho had been the redstone god for as long as he knew

He liked it

It was a nice job he loved making new things

Trying new inventions

And then came this boy

Redstone just clicked for him

And Etho watched

And little by little he got better

And older

He went from doors

To big machines

To things nobody else had thought of

He was really good

And Etho

Well etho was getting tired

So tired

Of working so hard

So one day he decided

The kid (now a fully grown man but always a kid in Ethos eyes)

Was gonna take his place

He was the right fit

Like putting your flying machine stop at the perfect place the first try without overthinking it

So Etho did something he hadn’t done in a bit

Go to the mortal realm

Visiting a familiar house atop the hill

And they talked

And talked

And talked

And then the sun came down

Etho told him

And there was shock

And a few tears

And a slightly tickily hug (mustache problems amiright?)

And by the time you could see the first break of dawn

Etho was retired

Still a god

Still as immoral as ever

But a boy with a mustache and a fancy accent had taken his role

And he looked pretty happy to have that power

Etho was proud of him
