Summary: Oliver goes to reader his best friend and crush, to help him set up the Queen Christmas party that hasn’t happened since he disappeared, what else does Oliver have planned for the reader though
Author's Note: This takes place kinda season 1 when he is back in Starling City and he finds out that since he has been gone there hasn’t been a Queen Christmas Party. Just something Christmasy (I don’t remember if the party was on Christmas eve or day so I’m making it Christmas day because I’m posting it today Christmas day)

Oliver’s p.o.v
Ever since I came back so many things have been different and changed.
Something that I didn’t expect to be changed was the annual Queen Christmas Party. When I asked Thea she said that ever since the gambit went down there hasn’t been a Queen Christmas Party.
I plan to change that. With the help of an old friend of mine.

I was walking down the stairs when the doorbell dinged.
“Ah, y/n just who I wanted to see” I said letting her in
“Well I figured considering you called me and told me to come over.” she said entering looking at me suspiciously.
I nodded realizing that yeah I did and that it was kinda of stupid thing to say. We both walked up the stairs into my room, she took a seat on the bed and looked over at me raising her eyebrows silently asking what I called her over for.
“I need your help” I told her moving to sit in front of her on my desk chair.
“With what?” she asked me curiously
“I want to put on the Queen Christmas Party, I need your help.” I told her trying to see how she reacts to me asking this
“You do know that there hasn’t been one since the boat went down and you an your father were presumed dead, right?” she asked me, after trying to find the right words.
“Yes, I know. Although I think things need to go back to normal.” I paused then tilted my head, realizing that isn’t possible “Well, as normal as they can be.”
“Oli things are never gonna be normal like they were, you have to know that. As for helping you plan and put on the party…” she said looking me in the eyes with kind of a hint of a sad smile. Out of all the people around, she has been the only one to pick on the little things.
I gave her a small smile and puppy eyes, hoping to persuade her
“Fine. Yes, I will help you” she said reluctantly, and slowly a smile spread across her face. I got up and hugged her.
“Thank you” I said to her, smiling.
“Yeah anything for you, you know that.” she told me seriously looking me in the eyes.
I nodded ‘yes’ “same here”

It didn’t take us more than 2 days to plan everything and have everything already perfect timing for Christmas.
It is Christmas Day the party is tonight. Almost everyone that use to come before the accident is coming.
As people started to come about 20 minutes after the time people were told to arrive. That is when y/n arrived, of course looking stunning in her Christmas dress.
“I’m glad you came. I forgot how I hate talking to all these people about nothing important” I said to her as I went over to greet her.
“Well, I’m here to save you.” She said smiling at me looking around squinting her eyes looking around. Which brought a smile to my face.
“You look . . . stunning” I told her, looking her up and down.she looked beautiful.
“Thank you. So who do we avoid and where do we hide?” She asked me jokingly raising an eyebrow
“I was thinking behind the bar and everyone.” I answered her leaning over to whisper it in her ear.

“y/n can I speak with you,... outside please” I asked her so I could talk to her alone.
“Yeah sure.” she answered me walking away from talking to Tommy
“So what did you want to talk about?” she asked me as we entered the backyard balcony.
“I’m really grateful you helped me put this all together, thank you for that.” I said looking out at the stars leaning on the balcony just like y/n is.
“Like I said anything for you Oli anything” she told me turning to look at me with a hint of a smile on her face
“I know I haven’t been back for all that long but I would like to ask you something”
“What would that be?” she asked turning her whole body towards me with a raised eyebrow.
“You know more about me than anyone, yeah that was before I left for the gambit you knew about the girl I got pregnant and how she had the miscarriage and you knew that even though I was dating Laurel I was also with Sara and the list can go on. You are the only one that has really picked up on things, little things. I want someone that I can be able to tell about everything that has happened over the past 5 years- to someone I know won’t tell anyone else. That I know for a fact is you.”
“Where are you going with this Oli?” she looked at me skeptically
“I want to tell you everything that happened things I can’t tell anyone else. I also want to be more than friends with you” I paused when she looked at me a little uneasy. Then I realized why she was looking at me like that. “ I know- I remember what I use to be like when it came to being more than friends in relationships. But trust me I'm not that type of guy anymore, I promise. Will you give me a chance and do me the honor of being my girlfriend?” I wrapped my arms around her waist looking down at her hoping for a ‘yes’.
“I would love you be your girlfriend Oliver Queen- just as long as you have changed.” she said smiling at me with a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips.
Needless to say, it was a good Christmas, especially for being the first one I have had in 5 years.

Not being able to kiss someone you really rEALLY REALLY wanna kiss is kinda sad and very dumb.
The entire time that I was gone, I could never… completely trust someone. And when that goes on for so long, you stop… seeing people for people. You see… threats. Or targets.
